Chapter 3

SEBASTIÁN'S POV

I specifically told Mother to not even consider buying a pet for me.

I hate the idea of even having a human in the same room as me. And that pet was just just standing there, unfazed by the drama that went on around her.

She looked like some zombie.

Even thinking about her makes me want to chew glass instead.

After stomping to my room, I get in and slam the door shut. I run my hair for the hundredth time today.

There's something weird about her. She doesn't smell like a normal human and she smells familiar too. Like...

'Uh-uh no ridiculous' I shake my head off my silly thought

Knock...knock...

I'm startled back to reality by a knock on my door. I turn to glare at it. Not really in the mood.

"What!"

"Your Majesty, the Queen requests your presence in the throne room effective immediately," the slave leaves without listening to my response. I let out a guttural groan.

Opening the door, I take my walking to the throne room.

Sure I don't celebrate my birthday, stopped years and years ago but my mom being my mom always tried to make it extra special by buying extra special gifts for me in place of a celebration. Now I wish i just celebrated my birthday instead of being gifted with a pest.

Lost in my anger, I didn't realise that I was walking faster than I intended because now I'm in the throne room with a scowl etched on my face.

"You asked for me, Mother?" I made a questioning statement.

"Fix your face. Your Father and I bought that pet for you. Now you may not like it--"

I scoff at her understatement

"Yeah, I hate it" I say through gritted teeth, frowning deeper than before.

She sighs,"You know, what happened to your brother is in the past, Sebby. And the human is still being punished to date,"

"Yeah, not killed. Do you know what my brother does now, Mother? He locks himself up. It's like he isn't there anymore. All because of a stupid pet YOU bought!!" I'm fuming now, my jaw and fists are clenched.

She gives me a sympathetic look.

"Sebby... that pet isn't like her. She's--"

"Different? Yeah I'd like to not to take chances. Doesn't help that she smells like her!!"

Mother gasps. "What do you mean?"

"Come on mom, don't tell me you've forgotten how she smells already. I mean she broke your son after all," I stare with a raised eyebrow.

"We aren't here to talk about your brother, Sebastián," she shifts uncomfortably "please give it a try, son. I did this to help you move on from the past. And this is not a request, it's an order."

I stiffen.

An order? What the hell!

"She's moving to the cell conjoined to your room," I'm about to protest,"TODAY!"

Huffing is the only thing I can do at the moment.

As for the little pet, Welcome to hell little one.

BELLA'S POV

Lying on my back now, I'm savouring the comfort provided by the bed and its sheets.

Vampires are crazy, I might go back to sleeping on the floor.

This Prince really hates me it seems and I know if the Queen forces him to keep me, this will be my personal hell.

Seems like I jinxed my self.

Hours of bathing and drowning in my thoughts, I picked up a sound of light footsteps coming this way.

I thought since this is a castle, it should be brimming with slaves and that I would get headaches with the chatters and footsteps but it has been really quiet.

The door opens and the slave from earlier appears, "Follow me."

Informative much?

I strot after her. We pass a lot if rooms, go up a flight of stairs and continue walking. Something tells me we're going to the Prince's chambers.

I'm not in the mood for this.

The castle is jaw dropping, and it's surprisingly modernised, I'm sure as hell it has elevators.

Ding.

Ah. See?

Now I'm scowling because my feet are throbbing.

"If you're making me work out, the least you can do is tell me where we're headed," I say that breathing hard.

"You talk too much," Huh?

Wow.

"So--"

"The Prince's chambers," she mutters sternly.

"I knew it," I mutter weakly.

"Why bother asking?" She halts and turns to glare at me which causes me to halt too.

I give her my innocent face and bat my eyelashes,"To..uh hear your uh... lovely voice," I grin

She looks at me like I've grown two heads and scoffs then continues walking.

I sigh and follow her.

I really miss Harriet and I wasn't given time to grieve.

We finally come to a halt. She knocks twice.

The door flies open to reveal a very calm Prince. I'm not sure I like that.

His eyes falls to me and he gives a sly smirk, "I see you brought my little pet here," my stomach churns.

"Yes, Your Majesty. Enjoy your gift," she curtsies and leaves. I fight a grimace that's trying to settle on my face, trying to keep my face emotionless. It works.

He drags me by my leash into his room and points to a door on the corner.

"That is your cell," he stares at me intensely, "Now listen carefully to these rules and follow them, you're to keep your head down always, you're not to speak to me or anyone else, you're to do as you're told without resistance, any disrespectful gesture from you will earn you a brutal punishment. This means you're going to do what you're doing now always just keep your head down and don't look at me. I don't want you in my room now scurry off,"

Because I'm not in the mood for any thing today, I obey his orders.

I mean its his birthday after all.

Don't worry dear Prince, I'll introduce you to Bella tomorrow. Properly.

I think to myself with a smirk.
