Forever and Ever

A woman around 27 years sitting on bench in Pune station waiting for train. She heard the announcement 


'May I have your attention please! 11041 cstm chennai express from Mumbai to Chennai is expected to reach 18:05 on platform number 7.' 


As per the announcement, the train reach the station at 18:05 which will depart in next 5 to 10 minutes and expected to reach Chennai next day 14:00 to 15:00. The woman gets inside the train and sat in her berth. 


Navya knows her friend loves to hear her favourite song putting headset on and see outside by sitting in window seat. But she also knows that her friend is not in the state to enjoy the travel and to hear any songs. This habit of hearing songs and getting addicted to voice of a singer is one of the reason that her friend is now going through a period of intense misery now. 


Fate is the fate; none can change it. We need to face. 


Navya called her once the train starts. Her chain of thoughts is disturbed by continuous buzzing of her phone but ringtone stops and mobile phone displays 7 missed calls. she attended the next call. 


" Hello Nandhini, is everything is Okay??You got inside the train safely?? Why you are not picking up my call?" Navya asked with concern though she was informed by her secret informer that her friend boarded into the train safely. 


" Sorry Navya, I didn't realize my mobile is ringing, everything is okay, I got into the train and the train started moving." Nandhini answered Navya's question mechanically. 


"Yes, I can understand what you are going through... but please forget and move on. I know advising is easy and following is difficult. Forget the past and begin a new start afresh. Okay, I am lecturing you now, I just called to ensure you are boarded to the train" 


Nandhini with faint smile "Yeah, boarded and say thanks to your friend to get book train ticket at last minute notice". 


Nandhini cuts the call and again drown into her thought, now the outside starts to become dark. The train goes in normal speed and reached the next station DAUND JN in next 2 hour and 15 minutes. As the train stops in the Junction people with our food and snacks get inside and started to sell their food by hooting the food names and the price of it. The song ... 


Nandhini gets out of her trance and attend call of Navya. 


Navya in a sarcastic tone "Wow I, What an improvement!" 


I clearly not getting "What Navya, what improvement?" 


"In the evening, you picked my 8th call, now you attended my 5th call... good improvement keeps going." 


Nandhini clearly understand Navya's annoyance" I'm sorry, just looking outside, and...." 


"And... thinking about the past, Right? Those thoughts lead to nothing but pain. Stop holding on it" 


"Ok fine, I clearly know that you have not eat anything by now and the time is almost 9 pm, have dinner and sleep." 


"Ok then, bye good night. See you tomorrow."
