Coming Late

I got up with jerk as I heard some sound.

"What the hell? What is the sound?"

I thought these crazy guys are partying but I saw lights were off and everyone was sleeping and I am in my favourite sofa.

"Nandhini, I can't believe you still didn't change" I heard Navya shouting at me as I am yawning continuously.

"Let her sleep, why are you disturbing her. She was up till now which is rare and you yourself admitted this. Then why are you bothering her now?" Alya defended me and I yawned which provoke Navya more.

"At least she should try, but she is not" Navya glared me.

"This is my first time. You know that very well" I whined like baby

"We are going to nothing but drink till we get unconscious, she won't drink and there is no harm if she sleeps now" Now Cabir supported me and give him big thumbs up.

After that I remember Navya was walking with me in my half sleep and made to sleep my Sofa. I heard now clearly the source of the sound. Someone is knocking the door and rush towards the door as the sound may disturb others.

I opened and I saw a tall feature wall. I rubbed my eyes to clear my vision and moved I moved back to have a clear look and he was standing. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans absolutely hot even

"You are late" I said even I do not know the time now.

"I am not" He said looking deep into my eyes.

"hello Mr.Attitude, once in life accept what you do"

"What I did that I need to accept? And by the way, I already informed that I will come late so I am not late" He said something sounds like Pythagoras theorem. I let it go as I was not fully out of my sleep and he seems in bad mood.

In each meeting of ours, I learn something new about him. In each meeting, his eyes speak more than his lips. I realize I am the one who speaks more than him and it is very rare.

In our first meeting, he was so outrage that I have not seen any one before with the rage I have seen in his eyes. And when he received the phone call on that, I was almost taken back in fear because of his anger.

In our second meeting in Chennai, he was totally a different calm that I doubt he is the same person who I had bitter encounter. Though he is calm, his arrogant attitude proves he is the same person.

When I was standing outside my office alone late night, though he acted he didn't cared but I can sense he cared for me that I am standing all alone in dark. Even I tested his patience, he didn't leave me alone there, instead he dragged me into his car. I hope he is caring and I saw his care towards Fab5.

And today when I open the door, I saw the same wrath when I saw him for the first time, but it melts down once his eye landed on mine. I am sure something is bothering him since long.

"Oh, everyone slept already" I heard his voice from inside not aware when he went inside.

If I mention he is late again, then he will come up with some logic which I can't understand. So I decided to keep my mouth shut and I kept my face plain.

"Do you need coffee, tea or juice and if you want hot drinks are kept in hall near TV" I pointed to the TV and turned to see his amusement in his eyes and I guessed why.

"Even you are my enemy, it is our tradition to welcome the person coming to our house"

"No I don't need anything now but you remind me a waitress I saw in a hotel last week. But she is better than you in reciting the items"

I resist the urge to punch his face, he very well knows to provoke me.

"Well in that case, make yourself comfortable and you can sleep in the Sofa if you want" with that I marched towards balcony.

I asked him to sleep in the sofa I slept. There is no option as Navya, Mukti and Aliya were in my bed, thank god the bed is king size. Cabir and Dhruv were sleeping the Sofa in hall and Abi's bed is free but he can come anytime soon, so the only place left is my favourite Sofa. I didn't turn back to see what he is doing, sat on the floor showing my back to him.

I don't know his words or his smirk provoke me but I can't stand controlling my anger. Even part of me knows he didn't mean it to hurt me but still I can't avoid reminiscing my past.

"Amma, someone is knocking the door"

"Go and see who that, what are you waiting for?" My mom shouted from the kitchen.

"And ask what they wanted to drink, don't be spoiled brat standing simply there"

"Okay mom, don't shout otherwise your sweet voice will be lost" I teased and open the door to find my best friend standing there.

He came to irritate me. We had a fight yesterday and too egoistic to speak with him even after 'n' number of apologies from him. My mother will lecture me minimum of one hour about our tradition, how to welcome a guest etc. if she finds out I didn't invite him inside. He know very well about my mother and will use this against me in future.

"What you want to drink? Coffee, tea, juice or soft drink" He started to laugh.

I stare him unaware of reason for his laughter.

"I don't want anything but you remind me of the waitress we met last week in the hotel. But she is better than you in listing the item"

I brought back to trance when I heard someone opening the door and I find Manik walking towards the door.

"It's my anna, don't worry he have his key" I informed Manik who is walking towards the door and he lay back to the Sofa.

"You are sitting on floor" Abi Almost shouted at me.

It is a big disadvantage that Abi is doctor and he used care me like a new born baby.

Ssssshhhh...everyone is sleeping. And you know I love sitting on the balcony floor" I made a puppy face knowing he won't scold when I make these puppy face. He gave me Nothing-can-change-you look.

He saw around and the environment reminds him the party.

"So you as usual slept early yesterday?" Abi chuckled.

"Abi, I tried my best okay and I managed to wake up till midnight"

"Wow, now my little sis really deserves a Guinness entry" he stopped his chuckle when he saw me staring at him.

"Okay, I need to sleep now, feeling sleepy". Yes he looks more tired than the usual, might be more work.

Manik is moving side to side in the Sofa. The Sofa is long enough for me but Manik is keep struggling to sleep in it as his body is too tall to accommodate.

Abi went inside his room and I sat on the balcony.

"You are not sleeping?" I startled by the sudden voice.
