If for Sophia, the so good looking man before her was still a stranger, that she would want to learn more about. Anthony on the other hand, already have a strong faith in the kind of girl that Miss Russell was, and we can't say that those where so favorable to her.
They were living in the twenty first century where everyone is free to make their own choices with no more compelling, where everyone is free to express their ideas and their thoughts and those things goes for Sophia too.
It was then hard for Anthony to think that Sophia was forced to get into their forced relation, or for what he thought "one side forced relation".
Anthony knew Mr Russell. He knew how good he is. He always respected others around him. So rare for the world that is full of bastard, Mr Russell was one if those rare people that always acted right.
So, for someone that was always nice to others, with a non-blood relationship, it was unthinkable that someone like that, would force his, only one daughter, blood and flesh , to be in a miserable relationship because let's be clear, an union with a stranger, we would not dare to think that it will be all perfect and all happy.
So for the conclusion, Sophia Russell was not forced into that mess, she indeed agreed to be part of that mess.
That was already one of the reason why Anthony didn't like the girl. She having accepted to marry a stranger.
Didn't she has any brain?
Oh!! But of course she has! Who was he kidding? He was sure as hell that Sophia would have never agreed to someone other than him!
The wealthy, young and handsome Anthony Ambrose (or maybe someone with the same criteria as him).
Arrogance? others would say but as for him, it was stating the truth. Cause those were the truth: he indeed was wealthy, young and handsome.
Vogue had even plastered his face to be one of the most handsome man. And we knows, if Vogue said so, then it must be the truth.
So accepting the wedding, to him, already gave Anthony a good perception of what kind of a woman that Miss Russell was.
That even make him hate her more.
To what extent money will bring human do stupid, disgusting and hatful things? What is money meant for? To help human live better or destroy them? Money is use for being used by human and not otherwise, however, it seemed that money is now master of humans.
But not all humans, only the stupid ones!
Russell Enterprise was already a big firm, performing in many kinds of technologies, owning 1/4 shares of the global market . If that is not the proof of their power?
Well, but that is not enough. In the market, their product are those with the highest price, "the" ones that everyone wants to own for the need or just for the shake of following trends.
But, there are also those with low prices, for those who can't afford the expensive ones.
Of course, the low standard are not as good as the high ones but that doesn't mean that they are bad too. Just to understand that everyone in this world is not rich and can't afford the expensive ones yet, they would want something alike. Offering them good product at low price, knowing customer's wants and responding to their demand is the basses of the Russells cause at the end, it will be from the pocket of those customers that money for their benefit will come from.
Obviously, Russells were rich, really wealthy. Any other companies hasn't even dethrone them once. They were one of the most powerful families of the states.
With their billions annual turnover, they couldn't be any richer.
But to Anthony's dismay, they found an another way. Marrying him. And sooner or later, their union will lead to the merging of the both companies.
That merging will be benefit for the both companies, they will surely dominate the global market and their turnover will increase considerably but at what price?
Of course, that will be great and Anthony couldn't expect better than than for their business but Anthony was not a slave of money. He love money, enjoy making money but not at the price of his happiness and the love of his life.
So that only harden Anthony's opinion of the kind of girl that Sophia was: a material person, that will do anything just for the shake of money, more exactly a "gold digger"!
Surely, the cupidity and avarice of this girl don't have any limits!
But what he hates the most in the situation was that, this girl was going to take the place, that only belonged and that was meant, only, for his dear.
And that's the main reason why he hated her.
Sure, she could be a gold digger, he couldn't care less but she was hurting the most important person in his life and that, he would not bear nor forgive.
Of course, it was not hard for him to think how Luisa felt when the man she loved was going, instead of her, going to marry someone else. Of course, that was her idea, but that doesn't, nonetheless make the pain less painful.
He will make the responsible of her pain pay for that, he swore to himself.
Standing next to the man in black suite, it was only after that Anthony said her name that Sophia was sure that he was Anthony Ambrose, The man!
Sophia waited for the man to talk more, maybe introducing himself, standing up and offering her a seat.
However, after the few words that the man had pronounced, he didn't say anything anymore he tore away his gaze from her, and went back to what he was doing before: typing on his phone.
He sure didn't want to acknowledge her presence.
Noticing his indifference, Sophia asked herself if she didn't expected a bit more from him? Maybe that the manner, there in New York was not the same at England, where the man offer seat for the girl? After all, it has been years that she hadn't leave nor come there.
Feeling, ridiculous, she pulled the chair in front of her and took seat, made herself comfortable.
Minute passed yet none of them uttered a single word. Sophia even wondered if the man was Anthony, if she hadn't meet the wrong one. But again, he called her, knew her name, so maybe that he really was him.
She sat there, quietly and uncomfortably. Not knowing what to say nor what to do.
The air became thicker.
Anthony on the other hand noticed how uncomfortable Miss Russell was, yet he couldn't care less.
Seeing her, in her simple attire, she would almost, almost pass as an innocent girl. She surely could wronged others with her look, but not him.
Decided to broke the silence, Sophia gathered all the courage in her and started to speak first.
_"Hello, I am..."
Moreover, Anthony didn't let her finish her sentence.
_ "I know" he cut her rudely.
Taken aback, Sophia decided to stay quite, again.
She wondered why was he so rude? What have she done wrong? And then something got into her mind: he was like that because she was late!
And she hasn't apologised yet!
Oh my God! Where are my manners? Of course he would be mad! On our first meet, I arrive late! And i haven't apologized yet!
_"I am sorry..." She whispered nervously yet again, she didn't have the chance to continue what she meant cause again, Anthony cut her.
_"So tell me Ms Russell, is being sorry will fix everything?" He asked, looking coldly at her .
She just stared back at him, feeling his cold gaze penetrating her soul. She felt intimidated, not knowing what to say. She didn't understand what he wanted to say. It sounded like he was referring to something else but she didn't know what.
_"No right?" Anthony continued.
Of course no, saying sorry won't change anything!
Sophia still didn't say anything.
And they stayed silent, again...
Anthony knew that the girl wanted to talk to him but he just don't want to.
He kept repeating to himself that he won't fall for her game. That she was the reason of Luisa's misery. Oh, how he hated that girl and to say that he was going to live with her within a few weeks.
He looked at her, and couldn't help but to compare her with Luisa.
Luisa was a person confident, determinate, that knows what she wanted. She didn't have anything with the girl before him who seemed unsure and nervous all the time.
From the minute that Sophia took seat in front of him, she hadn't once stopped playing with her finger, even when she was speaking, he could clearly sense her nervousness.
Annoying.
Luisa was beautiful and she knew how to accentuate it with her choice of clothes and accessories. She knew how to take care of herself and her body, she knew how to be pretty.
The way she was dressed. He was a man, but being with Luisa gave him some notion about fashion and the woman before her didn't really have any.
Pathetic.
Luisa was a blonde, with blue eyes with curves seated on the right places that could drive any man crazy. This girl, she was brown, with a boring brown eyes and plain face. Her body? he couldn't say that it was as perfect as Luisa's was.
Unattractive.
To say it in one word, Sophia Amelia Russell wasn't his type.
But he was curious about something, not that he didn't know it yet but he wanted to see her reaction, wanted her to confirm it.
The apology? He didn't need it.
_"Why did you accepted thus wedding Miss Russell?"
That question, Sophia wasn't ready for it.
Why was he asking that? Didn't he already knows that it was something between their father?
Sophia just looked at him, searching what she was going to say.
_"I...hum...I..."
_"OK, it doesn't matter, you don't need to say it anymore."
I already know it, but that, he didn't say it aloud.
With that said, he got up from his seat and adjusted his tie.
_" So, we were requested to meet and we did. Sorry I have to cut this meeting short since I have an important meeting awaiting for me."
Sorry? No he certainly wasn't. He was happy to get away from this woman.
He didn't wait for Sophia's reply.
He left.
