“Art Rove died,” I said while looking at Jabez.
The fake culprit died, leaving a confession that he’s the one who hurted Chris Liam. None of the police were trying to find more about the case. I know they won't, because they are incompetent. Money is the only thing that makes them move.
“I know he will,” Jabez said while looking at the newspaper. Jabez has been acting weird since last night. I heard Lucas came into his house. I didn’t know they were that close.
“So, what now?” I asked while looking at him.
“We can start accepting a job for False Collateral, if you want. But I don't think I can help you handle it. We are short of employees at Aegis Oasis,” Jabez explained. Oh yeah, I remember a lot of our employees decided to continue their college.
“I’ll handle the False Collateral,” I said as I looked at my appointments.
Mrs. Wilson is one of our loyal clients at Aegis Oasis and now she also wanted to become a client of the False Collateral. It’s been 3 months since her last call, we haven’t talked anything about her request because we are too busy with the others.
“Are you sure?” Jabez asked. “You can bring along Lucas, he’ll accompany you in my stead.”
“You two were close?” I asked. Jabez is the one who recruited Lucas to the False Collateral, but I haven’t seen them talk or walk together. I was just curious if they got all friendly.
“No, but I trust him enough to look out for you,” he answered before leaving my office. It’s a first, to hear him say that he trusts someone else. I guess Lucas really is reliable.

“Still nothing?” I asked Lucas. Last week I asked him to post a poster saying we are hiring a part timers. I’m already at the main office of Aegis Oasis, we only have hundreds of employees and it’s not enough! Calls, emails and appointments were flooding, we can’t handle all of it.
“I’ve been down there for almost 3 days, there isn’t anyone interested,” Lucas answered.
“Nevermind that, I need you to go to Mr. Manson. You’ll be his temporary assistant for now,” I said while looking at the emails.
“Huh? Why me?” he asked. “It’s not like I don’t want to. I just don’t know if I'm worthy to be his assistant.”
“Don’t get your hopes high, you are only doing this temporarily. I’m just too busy here. I cannot help him with his appointments,” I explained.
“How about you? Can you handle everything here?” Lucas asked.
“Who do you think I am?” I said with a smirk on my face.
Lucas sighed. “How about we switched?” he asked.
“What do you mean?” I replied.
“I’ll handle this and you go up there to assist the boss,” he suggested. As much as i wanted to be by his side right now, I can’t. We’re just too busy, also I don't want to be too clingy. I wanted him to like me, love me and then one day he’ll feel the same love I have towards him.
“You don’t even know anything about the Aegis Oasis. How in the hell are you going to manage this?” I asked. “You better be up there, after all you’re part of the False Collateral.”
He looked up like he was thinking. Does he really think he can manage this company? He should just stay up there and guide Dristan.
“I guess you have a point , then I'll get going now to Mr. Manson. Take care, Jabez,” he said while waving at me.
He forgot to address me in a respectful manner again. That stupid brat. I just hope Dristan won’t accept any request like before. This is why I always need to be by his side.
You better guide him, Lucas!

“Detective Daniel!” I exclaimed as I ran towards him. “I would like you to see this,” I said while showing him the evidence I have gathered regarding the death of Art Rove.
“What is this?” Detective Daniel asked. “Are you doing investigations without my permission?!” he shouted. I looked down when I realized that I was wrong for not asking his permission, but I have found evidence that can lead us to the real culprit who killed Chris Liam.
“I’m sorry sir, but I would like you to take this in consideration. I have found a lot of evidence, please read it,” I pleaded.
He started reading the report that I made, I was able to gather enough information about the places and people that Art interacted with.
“Aegis Oasis,” Detective Daniel said while reading the report.
“Yes sir, the person who ‘caught’ him is from that company. That guy might be one of his men, he ordered Art to admit the crime so that the police will get lost in this case,” I explained.
Mr. Daniel looked at me as he crumpled the evidence that I gathered. My eyes grew wider when he threw my report at the trash can.
“Sir!” I exclaimed while looking at him. Why does he need to throw it away?
“Stop this nonsense Hugo! Don’t you dare mess with the Aegis Oasis. They have done a lot for the police. They help us and the police when we need some security. The police have a good relationship with that company. There’s no way they are the culprit!” he exclaimed. “Just let the authorities do their job, stop interfering with their investigation. This false evidence that you have gathered might become a huge mess in the future!” he shouted before leaving the office.
Everyone’s looking at me including Zeke who already warned me about this. I feel so embarrassed, I know I shouldn’t make an independent move without them knowing, but does he really need to shout at me in front of everyone?
“I told you already,” Zeke said while patting my back, I took a deep breath.
“I’m not giving up!” I said while looking at him, he looked surprised at what I said.
He laughed so loud. “What the hell are you talking about, Hugo? What do you think you can do about this case? If the police have a good relationship with that company, then don’t expect them to make a move,” Zeke explained.
I understand what he’s telling me, but I just can’t stand here and wait for them to realize it. I want to make a move and investigate them! “Hey! Don’t you go and do something stupid like investigating that company, if the authorities find out about it you are going to lose your job!” he exclaimed.
He’s right, I’m going to lose my job if they find out but who cares? It will be worth it, if I prove them that they are really the one behind this then justice will finally be served for those people who died. “I’m going to do it,” I said while looking at the evidence.
“Stupid! Why don’t you listen to me!” Zeke exclaimed while holding my arm. I looked at him and smiled.
“This is what I wanted to do, I joined this agency to serve justice, not to watch the authorities slack off,” I said as I removed his hand from my arm.
“Fine! What are you planning to do?” he asked.
I smiled. “Undercover investigation,” I replied. His eyes grew wider without saying anything.
“Speechless, eh? Just watch me Zeke, I’ll bring justice to those people and their families.”
