4 .Weapon to a god.

Ogun's weapon kept going on in Abike's mind and the spirits wouldn't say anything about it. She decided to help them but the whole thing seemed crazy to her.

From the bathroom down to the garage and even when they got into the car and they started heading into town, they were unusually quiet and it was killing her.

"So what is the job description of a warrior spirit and how many of you are there?" She broke the silence.

"We were created by the gods to ensure that humankind remains safe from the unnamed god and others like him," Esan replied.

"We also have to protect humanity from its greatest enemy," Iku added.

"Which is?" Abike asked.

"Humanity. You are your own greatest enemy." Iku replied, looking out into the road as the car moved.

"So... you guys are like Angels?"

"I guess our jobs are synonymous with that of those you call angels in your new religions," Esan replied to her and smiled.

"Did you just admit to the existence of Angels?" She looked away from the road and stared at him, longing for an answer.

"Well I've never met one before, but that doesn't mean they do not exist. You didn't believe we existed, see how wrong you were.

The universe is such a big place that it allows for anything to be possible after all."

"So even you don't know everything." She turned her face back to the road.

"Only a very arrogant fool would think he knows or could ever know everything under the sun, Abike."

God, gods, and spirits. It all seemed illogical. "What the hell are you doing Abike?" She thought to herself.

"The right thing, of course," Ogbon replied.

"Could you please stop reading my mind," Abike screamed at him as she hits the break, the car stopped suddenly.

"We're here. I need to see a contact of mine who can probably help us with your situation." She got out of the car and Esan followed her.

"You don't need to come with me, stay with the others in the car. I'll be out in some minutes." She said as she walked into an alleyway.

Esan followed her and she noticed. She turned towards him with her arms spreading out.

"What the hell man? I just told you to stay in the car!" She whispered.

"Abike, I am no man and I surely don't answer to you. The men you are going to meet upstairs mean you nothing good, the stench of the evil they have planned for you nauseates me, oozing from their darkened souls like the smell of a rotting corpse." He walked past her into the building at the end of the alley.

"Wait a sec, I know these are bad men but they can help us." She tried to convince him to stop but he wasn't listening.

"I need no help from men like them and they don't mean to help you, at least not all of them."

He turned his eyes towards her and they were as red as burning coals. She was startled and stopped. He unsheathes his sword and he was engulfed in flames.

"This is it. This is his true nature, under the nice gentle acts lies an angry and dangerous personality. Maybe he's even more dangerous than the other one."

She kept thinking but her thoughts were interrupted by screams from upstairs. She ran towards the screaming, then there was a large explosion from somewhere in the building. She stopped for a while then continued.

When she finally got into the room, the destruction that she found surprised her. The whole room had been demolished and on fire. She was there to meet one person but, there were five burning corpses in the room and Esan was nowhere to be found.

The smoke choked her and she ran back the stairs. When she got back downstairs it was crawling with people.

"Those bastards finally got what they deserve, " one of the bystanders said.

"Those boys committed all sorts of atrocities in that building. Let it burn, " another bystander added.

"Where the hell is Esan, " she whispered.

She makes her way to the car and Esan was already waiting for her as nothing happened.

"We need to get out of here, " she said as she got into the car, starts it, and started driving.

"What the hell happened up there, Esan?" She screamed at him.

She was interrupted by a kicking sound that came from the boot.

"What the hell is that?" She asked.

"I got the one with the information we need and befell the rest with the fury of the gods," Esan replied.

"The fury of the gods is your chosen word for murder and that level of destruction you just caused?" She screamed.

I am the warrior spirit of vengeance, Abike. What happened to those scoundrels is the god's punishment for the countless murders, rape, and every other crime they have unrepentantly committed. They planned to murder you, too you really shouldn't waste your pity on them."

"You are all unbelievable!" Abike protested.

"You must've thought my brother a gentle soul, " Ogbon says blithely.

"You should tell her about all the cities you decimated in those days, brother," Iku added dourly.

"We need to go somewhere to question him," Iku suggested.

"Let's take him home, " Esan replied with his arms spread out.

"You're going to make me endure being in the same room with that old goat again?" Iku protested.

"Calm down, brother. He's not that bad. You're just angry that you hold no power over him."

"Who is this old goat you guys are talking about?" Abike interrupted.

"An immortal friend of ours that Iku hates because he's...you know...immortal," Ogbon replied.

"So, he just hates him because he can't kill him?"

"Lame, right?" Ogbon laughed mischievously.

"Watch your tongue, kid," Iku warned.

"You do know you're not older than I am, right?" Ogbon continued laughing.

"Take us out of town through the forest, up to mountain Lagbolu, " Esan interrupted, Ogbon's laughter.

"What's on-mountain Lagbolu?" Abike inquired.

"Home," Esan whispered.

It was a half-hour drive from the city through the igbodu woods. When they got to the bottom of the mountain, Esan asked her to stop the car and they all got out. He then screamed :

"Akpena!" The old man appeared out of thin air and answered:

"My lords and the beautiful lady, Abike. You're welcome to Lagbolu."

"Thank you, old friend. We brought a prisoner, prepare the dungeon."

Akpena opens a portal and they all walked in. Abike was reluctant but was assured that it was safe.

They appeared in front of the gate as they did before but the little house had turned to a large mansion.

"The house sensed our guest and realigned itself to something she'd like, my lords. Only the best would do for someone such as herself, " Akpena said as he snickered.

He waved his hands and his statue guards emerged from the gate, they went into the portal and re-emerged with the prisoner unconscious.

"What happened to him?" Abike exclaimed.

"He's fine, my lady. He must have fainted when he saw my guards." Akpena answered.

Abike ignored the old man and turned to Esan. " what the hell is going on, Esan. Why is he calling me his lady? What did he mean by a person such as me and what did you mean when you called me the weapon," She turned to Ogbon who was floating in the air like he normally does.

"The blood of Ogun flows through your veins, Abike, " Ogbon retorted and started chuckling.

"What the fuck did you say?" Abike blurted.
