"You scared me."

She wrapped her arms around him in a warm embrace, he smelt a little like mud, and a lot like dew and forest woods.

He must have washed up by a river before coming here.

She pulled away, looking at his face, observing the eye bags underneath his eye lids before frowning suddenly.

"You are supposed to be back--" she stopped, suddenly panicking. "Did you come alone?"

"Did something happen? Where are the rest?"
