Jide had imagined the way that Mistress L-no, Lily, would make him pay for the debt of the bird he had sent to the Capital, asides from mopping the bar floor and getting rid of bodies, and as wild as his imagination had been, he hadn't imagined this.

The room smelt of sweat, a whiff of blood and a lot of alcohol.
