Location: Roxan's House

POV: Alex

'Creak' 'Slam' was the noise I heard from the front door as Roxan had just arrived home from work. When she walked into the living room the first thing she saw was me trying to place wrappings on my body. Looking at me for a second she processed what she was seeing she approached me and asked "What happened to you?". Not wanting to answer her question I just stayed silent.

"Fine, don't answer, but at least let me help you," she said to me. She then proceeded to walk up to me and wrap and remove the bandages to make sure the wounds were cleaned right. When she was sure the wounds were cleaned right she wrapped the bandages around my body.

'Creak' 'Slam' I heard from the front door before dad walked into the living room to see Roxan wrapping bandages around my upper body. When he saw Roxan wrapping the bandages he immediately asked "What happened" in a frantic voice. After asking the question he ran up to me and proceeded to try and inspect my injuries. When he finished inspecting my injuries he backed off and sat on the couch to the left.

When he sat down he looked at me wanting me to tell him what had happened. Not saying anything I just looked at the ground without looking up and looking at him in the eye. Just when dad was about to speak again when Roxan finished wrapping the bandages and told me to be careful and rest so that my injuries would heal.

"What happened to you?" said dad to me in a serious voice. Not wanting to answer I just continued to look at the floor. Unfortunately dad was not backing down and asked the question again. "What happened to you?" he asked again, this time giving me no room to not answer.

"I overheard Roxan and you yesterday talking about the local Reaper Worm population going out of control," I said in a solemn tone. "So you what decided to go kill some do you know how stupid that sound you've only been cultivating for a little over a month" dad said to me.

"I was trying to help," I said. Dad replied with "What's the point of helping if you get yourself killed" while he was saying this I could hear his concern and anger towards me in the moment. "Do you even know how difficult some cultivators find clearing a Reaper Worm nest and you decide to just go and try to clear one yourself?" he said in anger. When he said that I got angry "Don't you think I know that if I knew I couldn't clear a Reaper Worm nest I would have done it NO!! I wouldn't have you didn't even ask if I managed to clear one but since you want to know yes I did clear a Reaper Worm nest alone!!`` After finishing my rant I stood up and left towards the danger room to clear my mind leaving Roxan and my dad in the living room alone.

On my way to the combat room I asked Dezzoassol 'Is there any way to cultivate faster than I already am?'. When I asked him this I continued to think of proving dad wrong about me not being strong. 'If you find an earth essence pond you can cultivate your earth element faster allowing you to breakthrough faster than you already are' Dezzoassol said to me in an amused tone of voice.

'How do I find one?' I asked with interest and Dezzoassol responded with 'I have already found one for you, because I will not allow the person who will free me be weak'. 'Then tell me the location' I asked him, but he said 'Not now the trip to the earth essence pond is a 3 day trip to get there and 3 more to get back'.

After hearing that he then told me that we will begin early tomorrow to get to our destination before the end of the week. Going into the combat room I went towards the array at the entrance and pushed to activate it creating 5 different projections of myself I can fight against for experience.

While I was fighting against the projections of myself out of the corner of my eye I saw dad leaning at the entrance of the combat room. When I had defeated the projections I began to feel my body ache because I had ignored what Roxan had told me about resting so that I could heal.

On my way out dad hadn't moved from his position and when I passed him I heard him say "I just don't want to lose you like I did your mom" When I heard him say it I let some of my anger go and just said "I know". Thinking on the way I turned towards him again and said "I'm going to be gone for 2 weeks' ' and then just left toward the kitchen to eat something so I can sleep early for tomorrow's journey.

While I ate I just kept thinking how far I would have to go to get to the Earth Essence Pond.

05:24 AM : July 31, 2010

When I woke up I went and took a shower and proceeded to pack for the trip including packing some money for some food in case I ran out. As I was about to leave I turned and left a note for dad so he wouldn't have to worry so he didn't have to worry about my well being.

I got on my bike and started heading out of Roxan's neighborhood and asked Dezzoassol what direction I had to go in to arrive. While I was riding I just had time to think to myself and before I knew it after half of the day I had gotten farther from the city then I had ever before on my own.

I had gotten off the road to eat something but I could never get my mind off of dad even while I was leaving the city.
