The Closet's Secret

Detective W turned the TV off and waited for your deduction.

"Boss, if I'm right, the closet floor... should actually be a door, right?" you deduced.

"No way..." Ha-Eun said. "That's a door? I certainly don't see that."

"Only one way to find out, then." Ha-joon stated and put his fingers on the grooves. With a grunt, Ha-joon mustered all of his energy and pulled the floor open.

"Ah!" Ha-joon yelped as he almost tumbled into the open space before him. Ha-Eun grabbed his belly and pulled him away. Ha-joon heaved as he recollected himself. "My goodness..." he breathed. "That-that was an actual door."

Detective W gave you a spirited high-five. "Nice work on that, my friend! Good job on finding the answer!"

"But, wait... how could you tell that it was a door?" Ha-Eun questioned. "I couldn't tell at all."

Detective W pointed to the guest room door. "Ha-Eun, close it for me, if you will."

Ha-Eun closed the door and saw the three cylinders and pins from the hinges. "Wait... so you're telling me... those cylinders on the floor there were a part of the hinges?! And the grooves the handles?!"

Detective W nodded. "Excellent work, Ha-Eun. Let's go check it out now." He then walked to the closet and veered downwards. You followed him and saw forensic scientists working below you. They all waved at you with cheerfulness and continued at their work. You could see the white lights shining on the body-shaped yellow tape.

You saw the large, screwed on hinges on the wooden floor stud, then looked at the thick doors. "No wonder Ha-joon had so much trouble pulling it off. He's basically pulling a section of the floor off," you realized.

Detective W then told you, "That also answers another one of my questions. Lei Hui did say something about the haunted house's trap doors. But, the other question comes. Why would he keep this trapdoor?"

"Boss, I think that question is kind of irrelevant in this case," you offered.

"You are right," Detective said and waved his arms. Ha-Eun and Ha-joon got closer to Detective W. He whispered, "All right, here's our game plan for the rest of the time. I have an experiment I want you to do. So, I will contact you by phone. For each of their alibi, I want you three to enact it. Tell me what you found, all right?"

The three of you nodded. The murderer is still somewhere in this mansion, and there's no way you will let the murderer slip from your grasp!
