Chapter 9 Eva's POV

I am all dressed up for Daniel because according to Kim, she believes that Daniel wants to sleep with me. Which is crazy, I can't just have sex with him. I am not ready for that. But she insisted that I get dressed up "just in case" so I am wearing a little black dress, with black flats ( I had to fight her on that.) And we straightened my hair, that shit took forever, and I am wearing a light natural makeup, because she didn't want to take away from the fact that the dress enhances my curves. So I am waiting in my room for Daniel to get here, he said he would be here by 6 and its almost 8. I am calling and calling him and no answer.

I called his mom and she said that he was on his way over her and she was so happy that Daniel and I both decided to be together. But now she was worried. I called his phone again when someone answers but it's not him.

"Hello." the voice on the other phone says.

"Who is this?" I ask.

"My name is Ben I am a nurse here at County Medical. I have a young man here barely conscious and he says his name is Daniel. Are you family?"

"I am close enough wait, what is going on? Is he ok?!" I ask panicking.

"He is stable now. But he does have a few broken ribs. It appears that Daniel was in a terrible accident and the car hit him on his left side. Come down to the hospital maybe the doctor can explain better to you."

I agree and hang up and call Daniel's mom and ask her if she can pick me up.

We are on our way to the hospital and I walk into Daniel's room and he looks really bad he is all banged up and wrapped up in bandages and he is all bruised up. I can feel the tears building up in my eyes. Who would do this to Daniel I get closer to him and give him a kiss on his forehead. That's when he opens his eyes.

"Well hello there beautiful." God how can he be all banged up and still look so damn good?

"Hey how are you feeling?" I ask while I play with his hair.

"Better now that you are here." He says while he reaches out to take my hand.

I over hear his mom talking to the police about what happened. The officer is saying something that the other driver didn't make it, and that Daniel was lucky that he even made it out at all.

"Do you remember what happened to you?" I ask worried running my hands on the side of his face.

"I was on my way to your house and Lisa called me. Here listen." He plays me the recording, and I am in disbelief. Like how sick in the head do you have to be not to understand that someone just doesn't want you.

"Do you think it was her that hit you?"

"I don't know I just came to a few minutes ago before you guys got here."

"Sweetheart the driver of the other car that hit you is dead. They are trying to identify who that is." Mrs. Pompa says.

"Ma'am you need to listen to this. It's scary." I say as I press play on Daniel's phone. The look on her face was terrible I can tell she is thinking the same thing I am thinking.

"The driver of the other car was a young woman. Hold on." She takes Daniels phone and goes back to the police. While we are waiting for her to come back I see that my mom is Daniel's nurse.

"Oh my goodness mijo are you ok?" she comes in to check his vitals but to also make sure that he is fine. My mom loves him like if he was her own.

"Yes Ms. Lopez. I am fine. Now that I have a beautiful angel by my side, I couldn't be better." I can't help but blush.

After my mom checks his vitals and sees that he really is ok, Mrs. Pompa comes in and her face is pale.

"Mom what's going on?" Daniel asks.

"Jenny, are you ok? Do you need to sit down?" My mom asks.

"Hi Angel. You are going to be the nurse in charge of my son?"

"Yes he is in good hands I promise. Now what's wrong?"

"Well the other driver was a female. It was Lisa. Apparently she texted her parents a suicide note and told them that if she couldn't have Daniel then no one could and then said she was going to die with Daniel by her side. But she wasn't wearing a seatbelt and went through her windshield. She died instantly."

We are all dead with silence. I don't know what to say, I mean yeah she was a mean person but no one deserves something like this. I am sad but I mean how can you do this.

After several hours of being here waiting for the doctor to come and check on Daniel he finally does and says that Daniel will need to stay over night for observation. I volunteer to stay with Daniel. Everyone agreed to let me stay with him I mean my mom was technically here with us as well.

We are here watching tv trying to distract ourselves from what is really bothering us.

"Are you ok?" I ask him.

"I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?" he says.

"I am just asking because I mean she was your girlfriend and well she was trying to kill you."

"I'm ok I promise. Just lets not talk about it anymore I want to move passed this." he says.

"It's not that simple I mean regardless of what has happened in the past she was still a person and she didn't deserve to die."

"Eva look she did what she did. I can't change that. It sucks but I mean I can't change it. And well I don't want to feel sorry for her when she tired to kill me. Eva she tried to kill me." and for the first time I see him cry he is hurt and scared that he almost died today.

I hurry and hug him, and hold him in my arms. "It's ok love. It's ok I am here for you. It's ok let it out babe." I am holding him and he is just crying and crying and letting everything out.

I grab his face and tell him, "Baby, I love you. I am here for you." He looks up at me and grabs my face and kisses me. With that kiss I know that he is going to be just fine.
