Chapter 20

Monday morning sucks but I had to get ready for dear boring school, who even decided that we should go to school five times a week, MY BRAIN CAN'T EVEN HANDLE ONE MATH EQUATION yet I have to go to school 5 times a week.

Before I went out of my room I made sure that Gabe's jacket is in my bag so I don't forget it. When we arrived at school I looked for Gabe so I could hand him back his OVERsized jacket. "Here." I said handing him his jacket "well hello to you too shorty." he smiled "take it." I said he took his jacket and I ran to my class,

"Ok, so Mr. Knight in shining armor like I said is in my US Government class, earlier he refused, REFUSED to be partnered with a girl, wanna know why?" Rin says "let's ask our Z over here." they both looked at me "what?" I asked, "did you or did you not forbid him from bringing close to any girls?" Rin asked, "why in the world will I do that?" I asked "because you're dating him DUH.," bri says "yeah because I'm dating a guy I met like a week or two ago." I said in a sarcastic tone and just ignored them.

After a while, I felt someone patting my head "Who the hell?!" I said, "it's me shortly." Gabe answered, "what do you want?" I asked "Find me after school." he says "uh no, I wanna go home as soon as that bell rings ." I answered "well you don't have a choice." he responded then walked away. "THAT? That is dating?" bri asked, "it's my shorty." Jin mocked "shut up." I said and walked out.

"What are you doing here?" i heard someone ask "What do you want? And where is your little miss. Knock off brand barbie doll?" i asked "stop being rude to her." he says "then stop being a player." i responded "player?i'm not a player" he said "not a player then a f*ck boy." i said i tried to walk away but he grabbed my wrist "let go of me!" i shouted "no, until you tell me why you haven't been answering my text or my calls." he said "because i don't want anything to do with you unless you go back to the ben i met when i was in six." i answered "i am still the same guy." he answered "stop with the cliche lines, we both know that you for some god damn reason decided to have different girls wrapped around you every week." i responded "are you jealous?" he asked "she isn't." someone answered "who are you?" ben asked "the person labeled as knight in shining armor on her phone." he answered "she's my friend.'' Ben said "ok both of you shut up, you're acting like we're in a korean drama. I mean not gonna lie if I saw this on a Korean drama it would be cute but this happening to me is just annoying." I said.

I know Gabe told me to find him after school but from what I have watched and read boys are supposed to look for the girls so I refuse to go walking around campus like a lost girl looking for a guy. "Aren't you supposed to look for Gabe?" Rin asked, "since when in any Disney princess movies had the princess go looking for her prince?" I asked "the king has to find his queen not the other way around, I like that," Jin says. "SHORTY!" Gabe called "What?" I asked "here, I kept forgetting to give it back." he said handing me the bracelet that I haven't noticed was gone "how did you get it?" I asked "when you fainted about 2 weeks ago." he said, "thank you if nothing else I'll get going." I took the bracelet and walked into rin's car. "What did he give?" Rin asked, "the bracelet dad gave, the one that looks like yours and mom's, I didn't even know it was gone." I responded I looked over to Rin's wrist and I couldn't see the bracelet "by the way where's yours?" I asked "well it's in my jewelry box, I didn't want to wear it today." she answered.

When we got home I was not in the mood to do anything so I just went up to my room, ignored my homework, and watched a random movie. "Hay Z, do you want anything to eat? I'm gonna buy." rin knocked on my door "uh get me some dumplings and boba!" I shouted "ok." she said "OH! And get me some snacks as well." I shouted again "GOT IT!" I heard him walk away from my room.

About 30 minutes to an hour later she came back and knocked on my door, "yes?" I asked "mom is at ben's house so we might be alone for now." she said, "she's barely home now." I respond "anyways the food is here so get out of your room and come eat." she said.

After we eat dinner, mom was still not home so we had to do our usual when mom wasn't home which is: off the lights, lock the door, lock the windows, close the curtains, make sure everything is clean, then go to our room and do anything we need to do, and NEVER open the door for ANYONE. Rin and I were in our bedrooms but we still text each other because we're both too lazy to speak to each other.

Why do you think isn't mom home?

I'd do you think she's ok?

I hope she is, but after the thing with dad, she has been so…

So distant? So grey? Like she lost her sunshine?

I can't lie I'm starting to get worried about her

We both know you're lying and you also think that mom isn't feeling good.

Fine, I do, but what can we do? She's so distant and the only time we see her is before school

and if we chat with her we're gonna be late.

She always says "Always find a way" but the big question right now is HOW???
