Eleven

A bloody nose and a busted lip was what Rae returned with. She was pissed, that was for damn sure.

"What the hell happened?" Brian asked.

"We met Dom's girlfriend. She's lovely. That, and your sister went apeshit." Riley said.

"Apeshit?" Rae asked.

"Regan?" Brian asked.

"She let Letty go." Riley explained. "Elbowed me in the face."

"You're mad that I kicked you ass?" Rae asked. "You barely even show it."

"You let her go?" Dom asked.

"She's jeopardizing the operation." Riley said.

"I'm about to jeopardize your fucking ability to walk." Rae replied.

"Rae, what the hell?" Brian asked.

"I didn't like it." She explained simply. "Riley got out cuffs and that was it. That's not how we should being Letty back."

Dom slammed the car door, making Rae jump. "Is that really the issue?"

"What?" Rae asked.

"Is that really what happened or are you trying to keep Letty away?"

"Dom, wait." Bri tried.

"Enough, O'Conner. I'm talkin' to your sister." Dom hushed him. "You know if Letty comes back that's it, right?"

"What are you talking about?" Rae asked.

Dom was growing frustrated with her. "Elena wasn't enough. You didn't see her as a real threat but Letty? Letty's a threat. Letty comes home and your hopes of us are out the window, right?" Dom yelled at her.

"What?" Brian asked.

"It was one night, Regan. We both said it meant nothing." Dom reminded her.

"And it meant nothing." Rae replied.

"One night?" Brian asked.

Dom and Rae got quiet.

"I let Letty go because I didn't want Riley to drag her back to you in handcuffs. I let her go because I didn't think you'd want to stand there and watch as she's cuffed to a fucking chair while you attempt to get her to remember. Is that how you wanna get her back? You wanna do it with her behind bars?" Rae barked. "Fuck you, Dom. Fuck you for that."

"Regan-" Dom started.

"Save it." Brian stopped him. "You slept with my sister?"

Dom and Brian stared at each other. Shit just hit the fan, and now wasn't the time.

"Come on, guys." Hobbs called. Rae tucked herself away from the team. "Tej, what have you got? Footage, CCTV. Talk to me."

Tej was unfazed by the events that had unfolded. Brian noticed, assuming he'd already known.

"I just went through all of it. Believe it or not, everywhere Shaw's team us, the cameras are down." Tej said. Rae tried to ignore the stare from her brother burning into her.

"That's a hell of a coincidence. All right, we're gonna pay CCTV a little visit. Let's roll." Hobbs said.

"So what happened?" Dom asked.

"Shaw's goons showed up and started shooting up the place." Han said.

"But we got something big." Gisele said.

"What?" Dom asked.

"Braga." She answered. "He's working with Shaw."

That caught Brian's attention. "What are you talking about?"

"It's true. That phone's filled with coded payment transactions that lead to Braga's cartel." Han said.

"Now, who the hell is Braga?" Roman asked.

"An old friend, right Bri?" Rae asked. Brian ignored her.

"He ran one of the biggest cartels in Mexico." Dom answered.

"And my old boss." Gisele added. "We used codes just like that to move money out of the country."

"All makes sense. Braga was running Letty. Now he's working with Shawn. It'd explain how the two of them met." Brian said.

"So you all know all this information about him. Where do we find him?" Tej asked.

"He's sitting in a prison in Los Angeles." Brian answered.

"How do you know that?" Tej asked.

"Bri put him there." Rae answered.

"All right, so this is the break we were looking for. If the two of them were working together, Braga will know what Shaw's up to. I'm gonna pay him a visit." Brian said.

"No, the fuck you aren't." Rae replied.

"Are you serious right now." Roman asked. "Think about what you're saying. You're wanted, Brian. The moment that you step foot off that plane, it's a wrap. You're not comin' back."

"Coming back? How are you gonna get in the country?" Tej asked.

"Let me worry about that." Brian replied.

"Brian, you aren't going." Rae tried to reason. Brian ignored her.

"This is on me." He told Dom. "I'm the one that served her up to Braga. I'm the one that gets to make it right."

"I slept with your sister. I gotta make this right." Dom replied.

Brian shook his head. "We're even. Thanks for not getting her pregnant." Brian replied. "Forgiven. Let me make this right."

"Be careful." Dom replied.

"Brian-" Rae tried.

Brian stopped this time, taking a look at her. "I'm sorry." She whispered. "It was a long time ago. I'm with Tej now. Dom's in the past, it never meant anything."

Brian nodded. He leaned down to kiss her forehead. "I know." He whispered. "Tej is good for you. I'll be back, Rae."

"I love you, Bri." She whispered.

"I love you." He replied before he walked out.

"Baby?" Tej called.

"Yeah?" She asked as she made her way over to him.

"You okay?" He asked. She nodded.

"Are you? That had to be embarrassing." She replied.

"At least I already knew." Tej replied. Rae forced a smile.

"Regan." Dom's loud voice echoed. She turned to face him. He gestured for her to come over.

"Yeah?" She asked when she got to him.

"I'm sorry for-"

"No need." She stopped him. "You're stressed and the way Riley presented that wasn't right. Actually, I need to talk to you about her."

"What about her?" He asked.

"She seem off to you?" Rae asked. "I mean, why chase Letty? She didn't even have her gun out when Riley shot at her. She looked shocked when the other goons had their guns out."

Dom looked down at Regan then over to Riley. He caught Tej's gaze in the process.

"You're making Tej nervous." Dom told her.

"Will you just pay more attention to Riley?" She asked.

"Yeah. I'll check it out." Dom promised.

Riley was standing over by Tej when Rae walked over.

"Damn, you can't flick a booger in London without somebody noticing." Tej said.

Riley laughed, which made Rae glare at her.

"At least you know you're safe." Rae replied, taking her usual seat on his lap.

"Hey, don't touch that." Tej told Roman, pulling him and Regan off the chair. "That's nothing to play with, man."

"What's the problem?" Roman asked.

"That's high-tensile titanium cable." Tej answered.

"Smaller words, babe." Rae told him.

"That's what they use to anchor buildings and hold up bridges- stuff you know nothing about. See, now their version, it works cool, but mine- masterpiece. See, I reversed the gears, torqued the motor and added this tank to the back." He slid off the cover to reveal a NOS tank.

"That makes it even sweeter." Roman said.

"Isn't there a rule that Roman isn't allowed to have things bigger than his dick?" Rae asked as he took the weapon from Tej.

"Man, I've been known to handle big guns. Relax."

"You've been known to handle that big-ass head." Tej replied.

Roman finally pulled the trigger, launching the end right between Han and Dom. Roman all but threw the gun to Tej. Everyone else in the room was unamused.

"You think Brian's okay?" Rae randomly asked Tej.

"You guys are really close, huh?" Tej asked.

"He's my best fucking friend." She answered. "He was all through high school. Closest thing I had to a father figure- or a parental figure in general. Our mom was a drunk and our dad was just never there. Brian was there...until he wasn't. He left in 2001 to be a cop and whatever, his street races and shit. Well, you know. I was nine."

"You were nine in 2001?" Tej asked. "Jesus."

"Does it matter?" She asked. She was nineteen now.

"I mean, not really." He replied.

"Does it bother you?" She asked.

He shook it head. "Not bother, but shocks me."

She nodded. "I see." She replied.

"So, what? Your only friend in high school was him?"

She nodded. " I lived with him, and yes, he was my only friend."

"Wow." Tej replied. "And Dom?"

"I've known him for a few years- him and Mia. I met them both in LA, right after I attended Letty's funeral. I was there for the Braga shit."

"You went to the funeral?" He asked. She nodded.

"I stood there by Bri as he watched for Dom. He was supposed to take him in. I didn't know him or Letty, or even Mia, but I felt like I did."

Riley going for Letty brought out a sense of protection Rae had never really felt before. Even if she didn't know Letty, she was family.
