Devil!

Wiping that grin off his face and looking straight back at the guard. He calmly said "Is that all a guard can do? If that's all then let me show you what happens to those that disrespect my parents"

With that, he launched himself towards the man who snapped out of his thoughts and became even angry at what this child just uttered.

"Motherfu*ker how dare a brat like you look down on me. I'll show you what a level 6 body refiner is capable of" with that, he swiftly blocked the right hook the boy threw with his right hand and sent his left elbow straight to his chest

He had expected to hear a few bones being cracked with the full amount of strength he threw at him but rather than the elbow connecting to his chest; its damage was nullified by the boy using his left hand near his chest to minimise the damage.

Sensing an opportunity while he was mid-air he threw his right foot to the older man's face which connected to his lower jaw causing him to lose his footing and kneel on the ground with one knee.

*Ugh* he took a long deep breath to calm himself down. 'He's only a child, a 10-year-old child made me kneel in front of him'

Even the kids were shocked to see such a scene. Steven was even more horrified as he opened his eyes. His whole face was swelled up but he wasn't worried about any of it.

The 4 boys weren't stupid. They knew from the very start they were never a match of Kai. Even Steven knew that. The only reason they provoked him this time was cause Steven hated Kai for always acting cold and undermining him. He would never let him have his way. Even when he tried to bully a couple of young ones it was always his cold stare that made him freeze.

He was meant to be the current mayor's son. He should be someone that people looked up to but for reasons, all the little kids hated him and rather than fixing his attitude he blamed everything on Kai.

When he couldn't take it he finally decided to this sought of tactic. The 3 boys plus Steven went to the town's gate where Kai usually used to sit and read a book while little kids played near the street.

Steven knew his father would always send a guard to protect him so he resorted to provoking Kai. He knew his father's guard would never attack anyone for no reason even if it was this devil of a child. Even the guards couldn't attack him without reason as this would involve kai's father who was possibly the strongest person in the town.

Unbeknownst to Steven he had never thought not only would provoking Kai to lead to this kind of brutal beating, but even the guard that was here to help him would also be pushed down to his knees. Horror struck his face

Over at the guard's end, he had finally had enough. He had still not been serious against him only because he knew his father would be trouble but now when his pride was on the line he couldn't take it.

"You asked for this kid" clenching his teeth he burst out with immense strength and threw his left punch. The boy who thought he had gained victory was caught by surprise and got punched in the chest causing him to fly backwards.

Blood trickled down from his mouth but he quickly wiped it. His heart started pumping faster. 'More more more' the voice inside of him shrieked with ecstasy.

He grinned again and let back at the older man. Throwing his right punch to his face to which the man dodged and replied with his fist.

With such a sudden turn of events, it looked like Kai was on the defensive now. Trying to block the bigger man's punches and kicks using his arms and hands was taking a toll on him but rather than looking tired what they all noticed was him was grinning.

This act alone horrified him to their core. How can a child who's being given a beating smile like that? Were they all not kids like him? They were all of a similar age but if it was one of them in his place they would have already fainted.

The man himself was horrified for a different reason. No matter how strong he attacked the kid or how deadly his moves were he would always block his attack or minimise the damage. It was as if he was born a fighter but that was not it. This felt like instinct. Just like how animals had the instinct to hunt and run; this child knew when danger was near and would avoid getting harmed.

The guard had heard about people like this. When he was training to be a guard he was told to either befriend those with instincts or run away from them if they were enemies.

Simply because people like this kid were born to fight. They trusted their instincts more than their parents. If trained properly they would become deadly killing machines.

Kai had taken a lot of beating yet he kept coming after the guard trying to hit him but his punches were either blocked or dodged. Only causing bruises on the guard's body and nothing much.

Suddenly the boy stopped attacking and jumped back making a small distance between them. Giving the guard a chance to breathe. He was surprised a child like him could constantly come after him even though he was the one being worse off yet it was himself that was out of breath while the kid looked fine.

His thoughts were again disrupted as his eyes went wide. Kai roared as his aura went up again causing his clothes to flutter.

"I-Impossible y-you broke through mid fighting. You're a Devil!" the guard pointed at him with a face as white as a ghost.

Even the 4 kids were shocked at this. The commotion had even caused some of the neighbours to come out and witness it. Even those little kids who were playing on the street before had their parents come over when they were told their big brother was being bullied.

Every single soul who witnessed it was horrified. While it was true that there were people who would break through mid fighting but who here could ever claim such a thing. Only those geniuses in the capital could ever utter such words. It was hard enough to fight but to use divide ur attention to increasing ur aura and fighting was no small feat.

"Why are you so shocked, Uncle? Did you think I would just take a beating from you and won't do anything?" Kai smiled just a little but the older man's heart froze as he sensed killing intent coming from the kid now

With a little push, he sped towards the guard this time at a much faster speed than before. This caused the guard to be surprised again and he raised his hand to block that right punch but as soon as it connected he heard his bones breaking as he got pushed 10 steps back

'This is not a strength a level 5 body refiner can pull off. His speed and strength are enough to compare and possibly exceed my own' he thought to himself. Just what was this brat?

This town was in the outskirts of the realm and very few would venture deep in the centre to know what a true cultivator was like. They had never seen anyone that could exceed the strength of his level. It was possible to exert a strength weaker than one's level but to exceed one's strength by this much as not something that could've fathomed.

What Kai had just shown was strength closer to someone who had achieved level 6 body refining and possibly even compare to a level 7 body refiner.

"Let's end this now. The suns about to go down and my mother is expecting me" without giving the guard any chance he rushed in again and sent out a barrage of kick and fists.

While his strength was strong he was nevertheless a kid who had only fought other kids and adults who did not have much fighting experience. While he couldn't land a perfect hit on the guard as he did before with the kick he was nevertheless able to completely mutilate his hands and cause the bones in his arms to snap.

The fight went on for a good 20 mins before the guard finally fell down exhausted. With no more strength in him, he begged for the kid to stop.

Seeing him down like that Kai finally stopped. His own hands were bruised and covered in blood yet he was not showing an ounce of pain on his face. 'Kill kill kill KILL!!' the voice inside him shrieked with excitement as it told him.

Taking a deep breath he looked towards his defeated enemy and simply turned around leaving with his hands in his pockets. 'Sunsets sure are beautiful' he murmured to himself as Kai made his way towards home

Now sitting on a chair as his mother slowly bandaged his little hands. "Sigh how many times have I told you to take better care for yourself young man? I know you like fighting but look at your hands. A man should take proper care of his body"

All throughout his mother's rant, he kept nodding his head and agreed with her like a little innocent child. This is what his father had taught him. No matter what his mother said in the house just agree with her. No one could take on his mom when she was like this. Even father declared mom the boss of the house.

Sam just shook his head at the antics this child caused. He truly was a piece of work. The incident like this would normally be blown out of proportions because the mayor's kid was beaten and even the guard had his arms broken but in this case, it would be buried.

Why? Because both the Mayor's son and the guard were beaten by a kid who was only 10. This would just make John who was the current mayor the laughing stock of the whole town.

Even if that was not the case he still couldn't do anything since the guard attacked his son first and he defended himself as seen by many people. Sam wasn't worried about anything yet he had a bad feeling about all this.

Suddenly, as they were happily chatting a loud bell went off causing both Mary and Sams eyes to go wide. They had not heard this sound in a good 15 years.

Since the town was located in the outskirts of the realm it was common for dark races from the hellstorm realm to invade.

The last invasions had caused the previous mayor to be heavily injured causing his health to decline. 15 years had passed and this bell rang again.

Mary who had been smiling suddenly went as pale as a ghost while Sam furrowed his brows. 'Why now? Why is this happening when so close to us leaving this place' he thought.

Nevertheless, he knew what must be done. All the cultivators were meant to line up and defend the town while the woman and children were to stay inside the town hall.

With that, he made ordered Mary to pick up Kai and make her way to the town hall while he went to grab his sword.

"Dear take care of yourself. Come back alive for my and Kai's sake" she pleaded, giving him a kiss and running off to town hall while Kai who was processing this simply kept staring at his dads back as his mother carried him away.
