Control

After announcements, the Corporal together with Rita left the stage and the guards took over. Each person was assigned to a guard to follow, one by one, in one single form line, one step at a time we were instructed to hand them our palm, I was nearing the front, maybe 4 or less I couldn't tell, every time someone would try to glance up at the front, someone would yell, the chief I thought, with his boisterous mouth, everyone would feel meek. I kept my head low as they take my palm and inject a chip into our middle finger. Quite a sting, I hissed. She looks at me and yanks my face to look here in the eyes, "follow him," he signals the man on her right, "he'll lead you to your area, Guy!"

This Guy person nods and makes me follow into the west side of the city, 'I've never seen this place before' as if it was newly built and or renovated to look more daunting, more intense, less homey, and nice. After a few minutes of walking, silent steps keeping between our spaces, we arrived at a gated area 'Area IV' says on the front entryway. We walked in, the guard led me to the only building in this whole area, at the center point was a two-story building, 'quite nice' I might say.

Trying to have a positive outlook on this was hard with all of the scenarios passing by just too quickly like a movie sped up by 2 or a silent stampede that hit you without any kind of warnings, smashing, and pushing onto you without an ounce of preparations physically and mentally. I was tired, so I was just thankful for now that I could get a nice long sleep, before the realization of today's event would hit me even harder, like a fist on the gut without you having a foot behind you for support, and I would fall and fall into this void of thought, pondering yesterdays event, from the Invading Moon, to the New Pallas, to the death of the mothers' tree, and now to this, training ground I'm being put into.

This is all too much to process, but I need to keep going, need to stay strong like how mother used to say it,

"We'll make it work."

We'll surely do because I was lost in my world of realization of realizing events, we were standing in front of a metal door, with room number 12 pasted on top. "This is your room, together with 3 more people, 2 of them are already inside. Look out for announcements by the Pallas later, all of this will be explained to you. And follow the rules written on the back of this door, you won't want to figure out what we'll do. Behave and nothing will go wrong." He touches me on the shoulder and leaves the bunker the same way we came from, shutting the door behind him with his card pass.

"What have I gotten myself into?"

With a big breath, I knocked at the door three times, the cold of the metal door hitting my knuckles, only escalated my nervousness. I didn't like being nervous, I don't like being not in control, I want to be the boss, the boss of myself, and the boss of my surroundings, but that all changes here.

"Come in already!" a shout from inside rings in my ears, I cranked the nob and pushed the door open to see, a decent sized room, 2 bunk beds separated by a dresser, a door may be leading to a bathroom, and of course my roommates, one's sitting on the floor reading a book while the other lay on the top bunk on the bed on my left. I let myself in and closes the door behind me.

"You can sleep below me," says the boy on the top bunk, "thank you." I walked over and sat down and instantly laid all the way down against the soft mattress and soft blanket. "Oh, this is nice. Never had a bed in so long!" I finally exclaimed, the girl on the floor laughs a little and looked at me. "Well hello to you too, Vanessa Quil from the Asian Islands, call me Nessa if you want I don't care." She sits on the bed right across from mine and lays.

The boy on top of me peaked his head below making his long hair dangles in front of my face, "Theo Von'strum, from here actually. My family was immigrants from Switzerland, well I think we all know what happened there. So they moved here to The Americas and then I was born." He jumps down and bends down on my level.

"How about you? Mr. Mysterious?" raises an eyebrow and smiles, a cheeky one too, like a teenage boy trying to hit on a girl that's nowhere interested in. This is not the time to be rude, I will be living with these people for who knows how long.

"Geordi, nice to meet you." Shook his hand and gave a smile.

"Ah, Gogy, I'll call you that," tells Vanessa still lying on her bed. "Better sleep now, they took you in pretty late, its past peak already. Well,, won't bother you anymore, we can talk tomorrow, pretty sure you'll have a ton of questions. Night." Theos' last words before climbing back on his bed and turning off the lights on his way. I laid back down on my comfortable bed and took in a deep breath, been doing that a lot today. Must we very stressed, and exhausted at all times on this planet?

Closed my eyes, pitch-black like the void I saw earlier, emptiness and sadness radiating, let myself sway to the rhythm of my heartbeat, like dancing on ice with an inch of a mistake could ruin such a perfect show.

"This is a problem for another day," I whispered,
