The basking sun, blinding my vision for a split second as I walk out from the main exit of the Area IV building, like the rays of laser blinding the enemy as the huntsman shoots from a nearby hidey-hole. The Fields is packed with people, I looked around and there they were, Nessa waving at me next to Theo with a spot for me to sit on. I walked over to them and sat on the grass, next to Theo, he looked at me, gave a faint smile as I sat down. Up at front is Porcha again, with a table and some sort of device on top of it, she claps.
"Alright everyone, listen now, today's lesson is the History of the Invading Moon. Please do remember the key points of this lesson, it might come in handy when you'll shift in 4 weeks or so. Okay, let us begin." She pressed the button on the device, a dome suddenly appears right above us, covering the whole place of Area IV which makes the fields dark, the device projects up at the front. This reminds me of star gazing at night, moons, stars, other heavenly bodies orbiting our own. Looking up, the display of a familiar moon which I saw a couple of days ago flouting on space, full of life and a glistening green aura around it. I remembered the aura shifting to a red right before it exploded on the grasslands and cratered its remains on our planet.
"This in front of you is the very moon that tried to invade our planet, it is located at a parallel universe from ours, and if you compare its location from our own, it would be sitting right in Jupiter's orbit. Pallas discovered that they used wormholes to travel at such fast speed into another universe to which they have opened its gates, and now the wormhole is wide open, anyone can go in, and anything could be spewed out." She looks at everyone, then smiles. "This is where you juveniles come in, our top researchers figured out that you! Yes, you children could survive going on this wormhole, they've said that adults have to weak of bones and too much body fat and body mass to survive the unearthly type of travel. And this is where it gets interesting, as we all know, we are constantly moving, even if you don't realize it, we are going millions of miles per second in space, rotating, revolving around the universe itself. It has been said that the wormholes' outer end, the hole from the parallel universe is not linked at its usual position, but ours is, with the gravity of our 2 largest planets, they've kept the wormhole from moving from its position. That means, when you enter the wormhole, it would be unknown where you'll be heading, it's the mystery that we are trying to find out. That's why, in the beginning, before you have even been assigned to your Areas, we've injected you, children, with microchips, so when you eventually head to another dimension or even another part of our universe, the tracker built into your chips could give our top researchers your exact location and pinpoint every part of space, in that way, we could predict who or what will come out in our end of the wormhole. Might be a possible ally or a possible threat to our lives. And yet, the Invading Moon is still very much unknown to us, what is their mission, when and why they tried to invade us but we the Corporal, together with the Pallas are doing our best to find an answer and to stop their plans of future invasion." She nods at a guard, and he pressed the button once more. The sky appeared once again to its blue and crystal-like hue as the sun gives us light on this darkness of space.
"But for now, we are asking of your help to go onto this dangerous journey across the universe to retrieve items, artifacts, anything worth of value from different planets, galaxies, and the universe and bring them back here to earth, and we'll use them as a trade if ever, hopefully not, when the Invading Moon returns, it is still a possibility and will be eventually returning here, they've opened a gate before, who says they can't do it again? This is merely preparation for the worst so be prepared and train from this point forward up until we'll need you to start the journey to space." She smiles once again,
"Future Shifters, good luck."
