Virgin?

Emma gasped at the sight of blood. Brennus found her reaction natural. She recovered after a few moments and clung to his arms, looking between the three parties.

"We should leave."

Brennus nodded at her suggestion.

Namor glanced at Fury with a grin. "Magneto is coming for his daughter. I advise you to free her. Old fathers like him can be a little touchy."

"Jennifer, take him down."

Jennifer cracked her knuckles. "Yes, Captain."

Namor shrugged. "Don't say I didn't warn you. Magneto is trying to spill as little blood as possible. I find it hard to see him as evil this time."

Jennifer shot past Brennus and blew Namor out with a punch. It was a cue for Brennus to leave. He wrapped his arm around Emma's waist and darted through the glass roof.

"Brennus!"

Emma clung to his chest, shivering. Brennus stopped to observe the fight. A dark-skinned woman flew high in the sky, surrounded by tornadoes. She summoned lightning at her beck and call, throwing them at the man hovering in a silver suit with a matching helmet and cape. Cars, trucks, and all sorts of metal stuff drifted around him. He used them to block the lightning attack.

More boss-level enemies.

X-Men were also present, fighting the guy zapping through the streets. His speed caught Brennus off guard as he had to focus just to see his name and skill.

Brennus got an idea of what the upper power of this city looked like. The best Brennus could do was blow a wall or destroy a building with a full-powered Light sword. These guys could flatten a town or two with ease.

He released a sigh. "I'm too weak to even compare."

*Emma*

Emma stroked Brennus's cheeks, smiling softly. "Then, what am I?"

She couldn't bear to see him depressed over this, not after he saved her life. She-Hulk would have crushed her if Brennus hadn't pushed her out of harm's way. She regretted her reaction to his past. It was normal for an orphan to be swayed by a shady old man. She wouldn't have saved herself if she was in Brennus's shoes. The man gave her his trust and treasure. He had every reason to be mad at her.

'I so want to go back and fix this...'

Brennus chuckled, unknown to her thoughts. "I don't know. A fake mind reader?"

Emma pursed her lips. She still had a chance to go back. She heaved a sigh of relief and looked at the battle. Television always showed bits and pieces of the fight. This was her first time seeing the full extent of the Brotherhood of Mutants, X-Men, and this secret organization called The Shield. She realized the reason for humans' hatred for mutants. These beings could wipe out cities in their battles. Anyone would feel threatened living in the same city as them.

Brennus waved his wings, and currents of wind messed up her hair. When Brennus stopped, they were already a good distance away from the fight.

She clung to his neck for support. "Keep going!"

"I don't know the directions."

Emma looked at his innocent face and burst into laughter. She noticed the shop she used to work at earlier this year.

'I used to do that a lot.'

She knew the general directions around the area.

Brennus sped up. Emma stifled the excited scream in her throat. Minutes later, they landed at Brennus's new apartment.

'This guy's calling himself weak.'

Emma went down and staggered. Brennus caught her shoulders.

"Careful there."

"The flight was dizzying," Emma replied and eyed his wings intently. "Um, can I touch them?"

"Are you sure about this?" Brennus frowned. "Not scared of the biggest and baddest mutants on the planet?"

"I am, a bit," Emma whispered and took his hand. "But... I don't want to leave you for this."

If she left him now, she knew it'd become a regret of a lifetime. Besides, his warmth imprinted itself on her mind, leaving her craving more.

Brennus grinned and turned around. She ran her fingers through the soft, ethereal feathers. The softness overwhelmed her, and she rubbed her face on his wings.

"That's tickling me."

Absorbed in the feathers of heaven, Emma ignored Brennus entirely.

"Are you a real angel?" Emma asked. "These wings don't look like a mutant thing."

"Well, yeah. I was reborn as an angel."

"Reborn?"

Brennus unfolded his wings. Emma lifted his shirt and roamed her cold hands over his back.

"Wait, where did they go?"

"Let's go inside for now."

*Brennus*

Brennus sat on his new couch and drank the new Rank-E XP Potion.

[+5000 XP]

[Level up!]

[5 Stat Points received!]

Brennus shifted the points to his strength, making it 60.

'Sixty means six times stronger than an average human?'

This was usually the case with RPGs.

"Yes," Lady Death answered. "I'm surprised you didn't jump in the fight for XP."

'I would have tried to sneak a kill or two if Emma wasn't there.'

"Ah, yes, Emma. Your beloved girl."

Brennus glanced at Emma beside him. She watched the news with a serious expression. "The fight has ended. Nobody else died it seems."

"It was a clusterfuck of factions clashing for different reasons. Nick Fury taking Magneto's daughter seemed to be the main reason."

"Yeah, I read their thoughts. She-Hulk joined Fury to help her cousin held captive by Hydra. Katheryne for someone named Piotr Rasputin. That's all I probed before the prince of Atlantis jumped the wagon."

Brennus mentally noted each name to investigate later.

"Good job."

"Thanks," Emma smiled, fiddling with the remote. "What kind of organization did you have in mind?"

"You wanna join?"

"I might as well. As I said before, I'm not leaving you. The Shield will track me down and threaten you with me."

Brennus leaned closer to her ear. "That sounds like an excuse for staying with me."

Emma switched off the television and turned to him with a wide grin. "What if it is?"

Inches away from her face, they felt each other's breath. Brennus moved closer and claimed her lips in a tame kiss.

Emma tangled her arms around his neck and reciprocated with unrivaled passion. Her awkward movements revealed her inexperience. Brennus stopped the kiss and stared into her eyes as deep as an ocean.

"I won't let you leave after this, you hear? You'll be mine and mine alone."

He hated sharing things, much less his woman. Even without the Envious Demon trait, he was as possessive as a demon.

His possessive declaration prompted a toothy grin from the blonde.

"I can say the same."

Brennus chuckled as he loosened her arms and gently pushed her down on the couch. "I play fair with people close to me."

Emma pushed him back. "I-I am not sure about my first experience on a couch. Uh, can we do it on the bed?"

Brennus's eyes widened a tad. "First experience, as in virgin?"

Emma nodded her head. "Yes—"

Bzzzzt!

Emma's phone buzzed at the worst possible time.
