Chapter 13: The first game II

A few minutes after 12, Rosella was tired, thirsty and hot. She decided it was time to end the game, the knocking on the door stopped few minutes ago. The battle was now between her and conquering her fear to go out of the room. After contemplating and fighting her self, she decided she had to end the game sooner or later and it's best to end it now before the sun rose.

She held the stick tightly and unlocked the bathroom door, she peeked outside using her wristwatch flashlight as her only source of light, she slowly walked towards the bedroom door, her heart racing.

Rosella peeked into the hallway it was empty, opening the door properly, she slowly walked out of the room and started her journey towards the stairs when her mother's room door opened and the bear walked out slowly and looked at her. Before she could process what was going on, it started running towards her. Rosella's fear and instincts took over and her legs worked on their own.

She ran as fast as she could down the stairs and into the living room, the bear was already close to her and was about to jump on her when she swung the stick she was holding at the stuffed bear, it went flying across the room and landed on it feet, it continued running towards her as if nothing happened. "For something with tiny legs, it ran way too fast" Rosella said to herself before running away from the bear, she was able to put some distance between them.

She ran into the kitchen and closed the door on the bear, she locked it and backed away from the door while breathing heavily, the teddy bear trying to force it open, she tried to block out the noise and concentrate on ending the game, she looked at the lit candle resting on the kitchen counter. "Anata no makedesu, oshimai (you lose)", she repeated this five times before blowing out the candle. The banging on the door stopped indicating the game has ended. She sprinkled salt on herself and poured some in her mouth.

She opened the kitchen door and saw the teddy bear laying on the floor in front of the door, she poured salt on it before picking it up. Rosella turned on all the light in the house before going to the back of the house with the bear and gasoline. She placed the bear in an iron bucket, poured gasoline on it and lit it on fire. She stood there watching the bear get consumed by the flame.

Something inside her changed, all the fear she felt seemed to burn with the bear, she was ready for the next challenge. She was ready to get what she wanted or so she thought...
