Checkered tiles

Michaels Point of view:

My mother died a year ago today, and I didn't feel the best, she was always there for me. She would tuck me in at night, read me stories and make me cookies but now,I'm stuck with him.

He doesn't do anything for me at all, except for taking me places and feeding me,other than that,he's nothing compared to mom.

I sigh and walk back upstairs after y/n and her mother leaves,I wonder what it's like to be her, must be hard, she's always fumbling around with her pens and stabbing her erasers with pencils. Like some sort of girl in a book or movie. "Where are you going,Michael?" My father asks. 'Shit' I think. "I uh,I don't feel too well,I'm going upstairs." He looks angry. "Your mother wouldn't have liked this very much. She probably would have yelled." No,he's wrong.

Mom would never yell at me for not feeling well in the head and stomach, she would have helped me and asked what's wrong."I don't feel like eating right now,my stomach isn't up for it." I say. My father sighed and let me walk upstairs where I closed my bedroom door trying not to make a lot of noise. Then,I lay on my bed and contemplate things for a short while.

Things like: "why does it have to be this way?" And "why am I such an asshole to people?" Were stuck in my head permanently. I wonder how Chris and Elizabeth feel, always being adored and cared for by our father, like they were the most important people and I was just like rubble on the side of the road, waiting for somebody to pick me up and care for me,like a pet rock.

My stomach rumbles, but I don't feel well enough. I try to ignore it by playing a video game.

An hour passes

Somebody knocks on my door and then opens it,it was dad. "Michael,we have to go to the pizzeria soon,I have to get some work done there. So look somewhat presentable." He says,in a normal tone, which surprised me,I thought he'd be angry. I nod and he walks back downstairs to brush Elizabeth's hair.

Your point of view

I sit in the car with my mom, wondering where we are going. "Hey mom, what restaurant are we going to?" I ask, genuinely concerned because I've never been this route to anywhere before. "We're going to the William and Henry's restaurant! Apparently there's cool animatronics and stuff there,I think you'd be Into it." She says. 'Who's Henry?' I think in my head, but I guess I'll find out when we get there.

Outside the pizzeria looked quite..dull. Like it had been left to rot for quite some time on the outside. The walls were dented and some of the cement has cracks. The only thing that looked slightly in tact was the illuminated sign

That read the words "fredbear and friends family diner" in bold yellow and red text. There was drawings of the bear, rabbit and chicken I saw earlier, accompanied by a fox, yellow rabbit and yellow bear above the words.

The doors were glass and large, allowing people to see what was happening inside. There was kids playing, workers serving pizza to the children, and a large arcade. There was also a large yellow ball pit. "What are you waiting for, sweet pea? Step inside!" My mother motioned be inside,I was still taken aback at the sight,it was quite beautiful. Like something from a game.

I step inside and take in the scent of greasy pizza and cupcakes, wonderful! It truely was,the animatronics were performing a light song about friendship or something, and the yellow bear and rabbit were no where to be seen. My mom walks me over to a nearby table,at the table there was three familiar faces.

Elizabeth

Chris

And of course,Michael.

Elizabeth looked at me with a smile spread on her face. "Y/N! It's so good to see you again today!" She said, giving me a big hug. "Hi,Elizabeth!" I say, slightly uncomfortable. "Hey." Michael says nonchalantly. "Hello,mr.edge lord." I say, a sarcastic tone in my voice. "Oh,shut up." I laugh. Michael rolls his eyes in obvious annoyance from the degrading nickname. I sit down at the round table between elizabeth and chris,it slightly sticking to my elbows because of the grease from children and the messy pizza.

I looked at the floor, checkered black and white, sun and moon. It was surprisingly clean, possibly because of a constant cleaning. A familiar figure walks towards the table, long and lanky. "Enjoying the show?" William asks,a wide smile on his unsettling face. "Y-yeah! It looks super cool? How do they even work?" I ask,my curiousity piquing. His smile grows larger. "Would you like to see how? I have some extras in the back!" I grow worried, the anxiety of following a man I just met into a back room overtakes me. "I'll pass on that, thanks for the offer though,Mr.Afton."

His smile drops a bit,but not enough to ruin the mood of the setting we were in. "That's alright,I'll have to show you another time then!" He walks away into the back hallway, and into a room I haven't seen yet. I decide not to further investigate. "So,what exactly are we doing now?" I ask the table. Elizabeth's eyes light up,as she opens her moth to speak. "Let's go to the arcade! There's a game I want to show you!" She says, beaming. "Sure!" I say, eyeing the arcade machines, but my eyes waver back to Michael. "Why don't you join us, Michael?" I ask him,a shit-eating grin on my face.

He jumps,as if he wasnt expecting it. "Ugh,I guess i'll go." We all get up,including Chris and walk to the arcade center,it was full of bright lights with children running all around. "Wow! It's so lively!" I say,a joyous expression on my normally drab face. The lights illuminate my face, filling my eyes with light. I felt a pair of soft eyes gazing at me,so i snapped out of my daze and let Elizabeth drag me to the fruity maze game, however, there was a girl with curly blonde hair there. She was fully enveloped in the game,I could just see it in her face.

She was smiling happily, her eyes showing the reflection of the screen. "Oh! Do you want to play?" She asks, realizing that Elizabeth and I were behind her. "It's alright if you want to keep playing..!" I say,not wanting to disrupt her. Her avatar in the game stops moving and the words 'time's up!' shows in bold, blue letters on the screen. "No it's alright! See,I died in the game anyways,so you can play all you like." She says, skipping away to a neary claw machine. Elizabeths hair moves in the air as she jumps onto a step stool near the game cabinet,so she could reach the buttons.

"I'm almost at the highest score of this game, but theres a girl who's name is Suzie that I just can't beat, her score keeps going up!" She says,a frustrated look on her soft face. I stare at the screen as she plays,Michael playing a game called Midnight Motorist, while Chris sat at a table with a man un-recognized by me,probably a close friend.

Next day

The next day I went to the pizzeria, suzie's score didn't go up at all.
