"Lyria, I am not going to continue fighting you every morning, you must get out of bed." Just then I felt a tug on my blankets and a wave of cold wash over me.

Whining I sat up and groaned, pulling my legs over the side and letting my feet hit the ground. Drowsily I walked over to where my blanket was, picking it up and then sitting back on the bed. The blanket wrapped around my body and sitting atop my head.

"Lyra, come on, get out of that bed," With that I let myself fall backward onto my back soI was instead laying on the bed.

"Lyra?" A smooth voice called from the other side of the door followed by a small quiet knock.

With one last groan, I slipped out of my blankets and made my way over to the chaise to lay there instead.

With a creak, the door opened and I watched as Ambrose and Roman walked into my room. They were my personal attendants and guards so it only made sense they were with me every day.

"Alright, up," Ambrose said sternly. "C'est de ta faute que tu sois fatiguée, t'était debout avant l'aube."

Translation: It's your fault you are tired, you were up before the sun

Everyday It was getting harder to understand what they were saying, but at the same time, It was like my head was thinking in french.

When I think of my home it gets harder and harder to remember like my memories are being replaced with Lyra's.

"Yeah well, maybe I wouldn't have been up if-" Slapping my hand over my mouth I stopped the words that I didn't want to come out.

The 3 men stared at me wide-eyed. "I am so sorry, I don't know what just came over me. Uhm... I am going to get dressed and then we can go."

Walking through the castle was a job in itself, the sheer size made me weak at the knees and my head was pounding. All morning I would hear whispers as I walked past but they weren't in English. They were in french but I wasn't able to understand it.

High noon was when I was told I had to finish learning the dance for the masque. However, for me, it would be like learning the dance from the beginning.

Walking into the dance room I made Ambrose and Roman stay out the door for a moment. The room was large and circular. at almost every turn there was a large standing window. An open balcony stood at the other side of the room.

Stepping out onto the balcony I took a breath and wished nothing else would change for the day. I waited there until I heard the door opened and in walked Ambrose and Lucas.

"As I said before Hile, I can take care of the princess."

"I am her guard, and I won't be leaving," Ambrose said shutting him down and then looking over to me, giving me a nod I walked back inside and began learning the dance.

Lucas was a pain the entire time and it went something along the lines of...

5 Minutes Later

"Avoid the toes," Lucas muttered in pain and I nodded in apologies.

5 Minutes Later

"No no, You spin to the left."

5 Minutes Later

"Stop, stop, stop, let's try again," He gave me a smile that looked pained trying to stay calm.

5 Minutes Later

"Lyra! Stop, have you forgotten the whole dance?"

I obviously had never learned it but I felt if I let any more of Lyra's memories cloud my head something would happen.

Another 5 Torturous Minutes Later

"I lead, you follow! It is not difficult!" Spinning one last time I had taken a wrong step and Lucas who was incredibly frustrated let go of my hand which made me fall to the floor.

Ambrose walked over helping me stand up while Lucas left the room.

"Tu vas bien?"

Translation: Are you Okay?

This was one of the rare moments I could understand the French he spoke.

"Yes I am okay, thank you." Dusting myself off I sighed. "This is useless."

Roman walked in and said, "I saw Lucas storm out, was it that bad?"

"Seemingly Lyra has forgotten the entire dance in a mere 4 days," Ambrose said on my part.

I looked down at the floor as a way to show them I felt guilty.

"I know the dance, I could teach you?"

"If you don't mind me stepping on your feet that would be great," I smiled.

It was now dusk and I was in the dining hall eating while my parents sat at the other side of the long table. Luckily there were no more problems the rest of the day.

Picking at my food I listened to the small conversation the King was having with someone I didn't recognize. I was never big on eating much, and it was only worse when I had gotten into college.

Once dinner was over I chose not to go to my room but instead go to the window where I had sat the previous night and I watched the sunset over the garden.
