Responsibility

Pei Lightian parents were over the moon. Their useless child, had finally done something right, he produced an heir. The mother of the child, was the daughter of Pei Yaohua's childhood friend, Lu Hongxiang. Although there was a difference in age, the Pei's were willing to overlook this, as the situation has gotten so far already.

Besides he was convinced that this union was favourable for both sides and his friend wouldn't oppose this marriage. After all the Pei's, were as well one of the most prestigious families in China, their military background has been established five generations ago and their influence and power in China, was unparalleled.

Pei Yaohua was a renowned general when he was in his years of service, he had fought many cases of corruption for the country and his son, didn't disappoint him either. Pei Lightian was a fierce and rightious Commander until last year. Unfortunately, he withdrew from his service for an unknown reason. He made many trips to Europe, for a while now his parents had become a bit suspicious, but didn't dare meddle in their son's affaires.

The pair was about to leave the house, when a white toyota came to a stop in front of the mansion's gate. Their nephew stepped down and went towards the passenger side of the car, opening the door, in one swift move.

Soon after a young girl emerged from the car. Ning Lingyu gasped, when seeing the girls pale and frail body. How can she carry a baby being so frail, her heart filled with worry in an instant. She rushed forward to hold the girl's hand.

"Wei Wei dear, don't stay out in the cold! Quickly, let's get inside".

"Aunty, Uncle!" Chu Nan greeted the pair.

Pei Lightian's mother, quickly led the girl inside the house and asked her to sit down on the sofa in the reception room. Then she hastily ordered the kitchen to prepare various nourishing dishes, for the expectant mother.

Wei Wei looked at the woman with a puzzled face. She struggled to gather her courage and speak up, but she had to do it sooner rather then later. After all, time in this situation, was very precious.

"Aunty Ning, Uncle Pei, please listen to what I have to say. Before you discuss this with my parents you have to talk with Lightian!"

"That Brat has gone to Europe again! Don't mind him dear, there is no concern about him not taking responsibility, we will make sure he provides for you, anything you need in this life time!" The excited woman interrupted the young girl, glancing at her stomach from time to time.

Wei Wei felt uncomfortable. She felt that this situation was going to get complicated.

"Aunty Ning! Lightian has made it clear to me before he left that he doesn't want the child and I am never going to force someone to stay with me because of this reason. I will never use a child to get a man! So please don't ruin my life by talking with my parents, if I have to terminate this pregnancy I would rather not have my parents know about it!" Said the young girl in a rasp voice and with a stern gaze.

Pei Lightian's parents were both shocked when they heard her words. How can this be, this is really not like their son's behaviour.

"Uncle, Aunty, big cousin is concerned about Wei Wei's state of mind in the future. He does not wish to harm her and put her in a disadvantageous position in society. Please be mindful of her wishes and cooperate with her!" Pleaded the young man.
