Dylan left Cole and Chase to go to the bookshop, but his mind was racing. He didn't want a driver so he told Jack to drive someone else. The last time the women that he loved got kidnapped she died. He couldn't let that happened to Isabelle. What else ran through his mind was now that Chase claimed her, did he still get to be with her or was it wrong?
He knew he shouldn't have been thinking of it, but he couldn't help it. When he arrived and unlocked the doors he smiled. This is where Isabelle kissed him. It held her dreams and hobbies inside.
Putting his feelings to the side he went through the books. He set the new ones to the side, while the old ones were set to another. There wasn't anything special about the books just that half of them came from Wade. So he kept looking. He went to the back room and found her bag of tools, and remembered when she broke into his office.
He was so shocked he had believed her to be innocent, and weak not a badass. Dylan found something blue. It was a folder like his, but the contents had told him that whoever owned it was not as VIP as they were. It didn't have the list of girls that was sold. Just a date, time, and a hidden message that said where it would be.
No wonder Isabelle broke in she was hoping to find where it would take place to save her friend. Not knowing she would end up as the main event. This memory made Dylan angry as he thought about Oliver. Oliver had been new. After the slaughter the alpha's monitored every ring. They didn't hate anyone as bad as the man who killed Chase's mystery women until Oliver showed up.
Dylan believed that the way he felt about Oliver is the way he would feel about the leader who got away. The only difference is Oliver was allowed to live, while the other one got away. Both would be killed if any of the alpha's saw there faces. Carrying on Dylan looked through drawers and cabinets and found pictures of a young Jane and a Elizabeth. None with Isabelle in them which was strange, but also made sense. If you were running away from someone you wouldn't leave evidence that you were there. About to give up that nothing was there he stepped on a hollow piece of wood.
Most people wouldn't notice the difference, but them they would. They would know it was a hidden compartment. Again most people wouldn't believe Isabelle was that type of person to be sneaky, but again they knew better. They knew more about her than most people or so he thought. When Dylan opened the floor he saw a book and he had to sit down. It was one like she was talking to in the office. The one she said she would never put on her self and here it was.
It was thicker than it should have been. He knew because after Isabelle said that he bought the book and read it. However the man in the book didn't go to coffee shops, and didn't save the world. So Dylan was confused as if there was a hidden meaning, and now he would finally get the truth. Opening it made him scratch his head it wasn't a book at all, but a hollowed out one.
Put inside were quotes from Atticus. As Dylan scanned through it and got to the back he mind started racing. In the back was pictures of a women. A women he knew all to well. Never knew her name but the image would never leave his mind. The way she smiled at Chase the way she headed over the balcony. The bruises that coveted her body.
She was a face you never forget, and here inside this book was a perfect picture of her happy. reading books to kids. Another of her and Jane. Her and Elizabeth. Her and another women, and then her and Isabelle? He scratched his head Isabelle knew this women? Turning the back of the picture over he saw a note.
"Me and my best friend Isabelle we almost look like sisters." Dylan could see it, but what really caught his eye is the signature that said Elaine.
Dylan was a nosey person he always had been. Which is how he got in trouble at home so much. When he first met Chase he wanted to know who Chase was looking for. Chase would never tell him. To this day he would never know if he didn't snoop. Okay so he was wrong to snoop, but Chase could have told him.
One night when Chase was at work Dylan snuck into his room and looked around find a book. Oddly like this one, and on the first page he saw a note from a man to his daughter Elaine. Chase wanted to find her to give it to her he knew that much but he never found her. Then Chase came home and caught him in his room. Dylan played it cool and Chase never suspected that Dylan found out about Elaine, but the picture it was her. That meant it was Elaine who died falling off the balcony. So if he told Chase then Chase would have found her, but would never get to talk to her. Never get to hold her and be with her. It might ruin what he and Isabelle had.
Making the choice of a life time he grabbed the book and walked out of the bookshop. Knowing he would have a impossible decision to make.
