Learning how to write

I think you can guess what happened after that, I had to keep summoning the pen. Every day, I would have to do it faster than the day before. At first, it wasn't that hard to summon it faster.

Once I got the hang of it I could already summon it in 50 minutes. But the shorter the amount of time the longer it took for me to achieve it. I did notice that every training pushed my limits but always stopped when it was impossible to go further.

Take strength training for example, I had been training day after day at the absolute limit of my body but once it was obvious that my body couldn't go any further the training stopped.

This training though, it didn't even care what my limits where. The end goal was for me to be able to summon it instantly in the middle of an extremely chaotic environment. I had to be able to do it instinctively.

After some time I noticed that my limits were being shattered. For some reason, my body could now become stronger and my control over the elements got even greater.

I asked Athena why this was.

"The pen contains my very soul. You are becoming more and more in sync with it which means that you are becoming more and more in sync with my soul. Because of that, everything about you is being enhanced even more."

I didn't really understand how souls worked but I didn't really mind since this meant that was getting even stronger.

Finally after another year, I could summon the pen in an instant and by instinct. Even when I was in a situation where I would be completely focused on something I would still be able to summon it.

"Now that you got the hang of it, it's time to learn how to write." Athena said. At first I thought that she was joking but her face was completely serious. I had learned how to read her face like a book since she was the only company I had for these past 4 years.

"What do you mean. I've graduated from one of the most prestigious universities in my country, I think I know how to write."

I had graduated with a diploma in computer sciences. Just so you know.

"You need to learn the language of this pen. Only 2 people ever used this language and I think you can guess one of them."

She was right, Homer. If he was able to bring out enough power to be partly responsible for the fall of the gods that meant that it was better to use the writing of the pen.

"Wait, two? Then who was the other person?" I asked. I hadn't realized it at first but she really had said 2 people.

"Now, who do you know that has lots of knowledge about the pen and existed around the time of its creation?" She looked at me like she was expecting me to figure it out.

"I've got nothing." I answered, dead serious.

Athena started coughing. "Die" she said. I looked at her, surprised. Why was she so angry?

"It was me, idiot. This pen was even created to strengthen my innate ability to bend reality to my will."

It did make sense. She seemed to know everything about the pen and she was alive during the age of the gods since she is a god.

"Wait, the pen was created for you? And it was to make you stronger?" I was surprised.

"As far as I know, artifacts can't be used by people with powers." That's the reason the strongest supe doesn't use an artifact.

"That is wrong, every artifact ever created was made to strengthen someone's ability, the only reason they don't work for someone else that has an ability is because the artifact can sense them and refuses to work. Because someone without an ability can't be sensed by the artifact they just work. Although it is possible for an artifact to bond with someone who has an ability and then that person can use the artifact."

Good to know. And so my writing lessons started. I got the hang of writing in 2 weeks. "That was ... ridiculous. How did you even get the hang of it that quickly. I'm the only one who was able to come close to your speed and it took me 4 weeks."

"Wait, it was that abnormal? It was just like programming, the writing consists of simple commands that can be combined to give more complex commands." The writing was used to control the world around you and really worked in the same way code did.

"So you were able to understand it that fast because it works the same as something you've been doing for year. That does make sense. I was able to learn it that fast because I saw it as something strategic. That way I could use my godly aspect to learn it faster. Homer saw it as a way to write better stories. It seems that to learn this writing visualization is key."

"Now the last test of your skill, it is time to enhance your body in some way or another."
