North Forrest

She woke up after god knows how long and decided to eat the bread that was in the basket. Megan used her feet to tip over the basket and get bread to eat. "How did they expect me to eat and drink, nevermind peeing, when I have hands behind my back?"

Megan sat up, then she bend down to bite the piece of the bread. She thought the kidnappers would kill her the moment they found her, but what are they trying to do?

After finishing her small meal, Megan tried to look for any cracks or holes in the small wooden carriage. She knelt as she found one small hole on one of the walls and peek through it. The sun was shining through the sky, Megan estimated it was a little pass noon. It's been 12 hours since she has been kidnapped.

'Was I such a deep sleeper?' She thought.

Looking through the hole, she saw unfamiliar farmlands. She was a city girl and have never left the capital, but now she was in the country side. In the carriage, Megan kept switching her positions as she felt claustrophobic. Many more hours passed when suddenly the carriage came to a stop and one of the men opened the door.

"Oh look, sleeping beauty is awake!" The man with a beard said.

"What do I owe you a visit?" Megan asked calmly trying not to show her nervousness. "Why did you kidnapped me? Who asked you to?"

"I'm not obligated to answer you little lady" the beard man said.

"Why did you give me food and drink? Where are you taking me?" She asked continuously.

"We gave you food and a drink because that's how we give respects to the dead" another man replied. The man then yanked her arm to get her out of the carriage and said, "we were paid a hefty amount to deliver you all the way to the North Forrest. Apparently our patronage wanted you to kill yourself by leaving you in the huge forrest."

"Ouch!" Megan hissed as the man's grip was too strong.

"Well here we are! Don't you find this forrest to be charming? HAHA" the man said as he pushed Megan to the floor.

She looked around the forrest, but couldn't see much in the distance as it was night time. Megan remembered that name, the "North Forrest" was one of the most dangerous forrests on the continent. It is a vast forrest and full of beasts roaming around. After the war, the Starlight Kingdom obtained half of Venus's lands, the North Forrest was included in those lands.

Megan saw the men turning around, getting ready to leave. "Wait!" She yelled, "if I'm going to die here, can I just ask the name of your patronage? So I can curse them in my last breaths?"

The men looked at each other then shrugged. The tallest and buff man walked up to her and said "since we finished our job and she paid us, I will tell you what I know of her, pitiful one. She never gave us her name, but she had red hair and emerald eyes. She paid us a lot of gold coins so she is from some type of noble class... good luck pitiful one." The dozen men then hurriedly left the forrest with much caution, leaving the flabbergasted Megan behind.

"What the fuck do you mean 'good luck'? And PITIFUL ONE? You buff men don't even want to be in this forrest, but here I am! A small lady who's tied up!" Megan yelled out in frustration.

"What kind of fucked up logic is that?" She said to no one in particular. Though there was one thing she thanked her stars for. Megan was glad the men focused on their mission and let their fears overcome their other desires. She was thankful because she did not get raped unlike many other stories of kidnappings she have heard of.

There were trees, grass, bushes, mushrooms, everything a forrest have. Of course, the beasts too and the thought of them made Megan shuddered in fear. She lay down on the grass and bend her body for the hands to reach her boots. Thank god her body was a flexible, so else she would've been stuck in this position waiting for the beasts to devour her. She touched the dagger and hissed as she cut her fingers. Grabbing the dagger she held onto the hilt and began to cut the ropes tying tightly to her wrists.

"Ouch!" Megan winched as she hit her wrist with the dagger. Her wrist were freed, they were blueish-purple due to bad blood circulation. She then hurriedly cut the ropes that tied to his ankles.

"Finally!" Megan began to stretch and swirl her muscles and bones. 'Now! How the hell do I get back to the capital' She thought feeling she could cry at the moment. It look the carriage around two days, if she walked back by feet, it would take two weeks! She groaned thinking of the long journey ahead of her.

Then she jolted up as she heard an "AWOOOOO" in the distance. Megan thought she need to find a shelter before even thinking of walking home.

Taking a deep breathe, Megan held onto her dagger for dear life and started to search for some form of shelter. Walking through the grass and ducking down from the trees, Megan walked as quietly as she could.

Megan saw bunnies with antlers, deers with shiny scales, and mushrooms that farts. She found it odd, but still stayed away from the creatures and continue to walk.

After a few hours, she came by a cave. Before going into the cave, she picked a bunch of wooden sticks to make a fire. She walked into the dark cave and settled down her wooden sticks. Picking up two rocks, she started smashing them against each other. It took Megan a couple of tries before eventually lighting the wood on fire.

She lean on the cave's wall as she heaved a heavy sighed. Her stomach made a loud grumble, so Megan took out crushed fried chips from her small pouch. She had bought this for Victon... sighing again she puts the crushed chips into her mouth.

Megan wondered what Victon was doing. Is he trying to find her? How can he when there's no lead?

Soon after Megan dozed off into deep slumber.
