A Text from Al

The rest of the school day went by like normal. Boring classes like english, economics and other things went by like normal. It was probably due to it being the first day, but still. Rio smiled as the bell for dismissal rang for the last time today. The boy began to pack up his stuff only to see a text from Alfred.

Al: Hay! Can you walk over to pick up Ri? College classes are taking too long. She's not far from you.

Rio looked at his phone in awe. The school was over a mile away. That's better than last year, but jeez. Rio began to try arguing over text with him, but to no avail. He sighed as he slipped his phone into his pocket. Despite him being a senior in school, he still had to do stuff he was assigned in fifth grade. It's not like he hated Rita, she's just a slow walker.

"Hey! You alright," He turns to see Kate staring at him confused. "I came to see ya before I went off to practice." Rio first debated on whether or not to tell her. She was my friend, but it was also none of her business. Rio after a short few seconds gave in.

"I'm fine, just gotta go pick up Rita." She winced feeling his frustration. It's not like she had any younger siblings to help, but seeing her physically act out his emotion gave him a laugh. After packing his stuff, he and Kate both made their way into the hallway. They talked about their separate classes. They both had math together, so that was good. Rio also found out that she shares civics with Adrian.

"I feel sorry for him, ya know." Rio nodded at Kate's statement. Knowing that Alfred is probably walking just to avoid some assholes was making his stomach churn. Rio stopped midway through the conversation as he remembered a certain guy.

"Speaking of the assholes, are you gonna talk to Johnathan?" Kate groaned. She probably just remembers just as he did.

"Know him, I probably won't have a choice," Kate opened her locker to grab her bat and draw-string bag. "He probably make a promise to not mess with Adrian or something." Rio Shook his head as they both began to head their separate ways. Him, outside the school to get his younger sister. Kate, only to probably be in some idiot's trap.
