You start to value those around you when they're gone, right?
You'll start to notice their importance, their significance when they're only little memories. Jinko gritted his teeth, then yelled some more. He wanted to shout forever, to find Humility to blame but somewhere deep inside him, he knew it was his fault. His fault for not listening.
But he won't...he just won't admit it.
Truth behold even if he doesn't see her the way she wanted to, or that's what he wanted her to believe, he loves her. He was just afraid...so afraid to lose their friendship.
He stood up, then went back to the jinx's realm. He won't let her death unpunished. He will get revenge.
...
The wind felt frosty cold whenever he passes and a feeling of hate is vivid in his aura. His fellow jinxi are quite scared of the expression present in his face. What's the matter with the once always optimistic Jinko?
Everyone didn't dare ask. For to them, his retracted claws and raging eyes are enough to tell what happened. He lost her.
It wasn't about getting Gabby anymore...it wasn't about getting any new prey. It was about getting revenge. Getting Humility to suffer. He doesn't care if he would be humiliated, if he lose, if he vanish in the process. He wanted revenge.
After sending spies, he found out that Humility was missing. Luckily, one of them managed to get the information about the things he loves. Carrie.
JINKO: Your sister have fallen, would you let it go like that? Of course not...we should, at any cost get him to pay!
The troop of winged creature he gathered yelled in unison.
JINKO: Let's destroy the forest that lady dwells, and everything inhabiting there!
...
Humility's eyes snapped open after realizing what could happen. Carrie. He quickly tried to open a portal to warn them, that is until Monica, the greatest jinxi and an angel of death, paid a visit to the purple eyed worker.
MONICA: I'm fond of Jinko. He's caused a lot of ruckus, and I love it! But...you made him sad...and I won't let that happen unpaid. Let's fight, shall we?
HUMILITY: Hmph.
Humility knew their gap in strenght is big. He tried to replenish his strength that had been lost before. But it won't work. The isolation grounds were too much to take for him. It's stopping him from using his other reserves of power. It's as if it's sucking his own strength every time he tries to open his flare bank.
MONICA: Hmm, looks like I'm in favor in this fight!
Humility felt doom as Monica began her first swift attacks, exhausted and upset, he tried his best to dodge it, while trying his best to look for an opening. After all, it's the daughter of Death herself, he's fighting.
...
{In Aokigihara forest}
Carrie felt a sudden sense of danger. It smells like smoke from a distance.
Suddenly her eyes enlarged in great shock as she realized that the forest was indeed burning. But how? Never have she ever imagined that her beautiful place of comfort is now turning into ashes. Her fairies and forest spirit friends are fleeing, saving their lives, until a big swarm of winged creatures covered the once so blue sky.
CARRIE: Everyone! Run as fast as you all can!
She yelled to warn everyone but alas! No help came to them.
The plants started to burn, and the trees started to fall down. Every living bird fly away, while ground animals tried to run but failed escaping their terrible fate. The scent of acorn and bark, now replaced by the foul smelling smoke of fire. She couldn't believe her eyes.
She tried to aid the poor creatures but she couldn't do anything to help them survive. Their fates are inevitably death. Her eyes blurred as tears ran down from her cheeks, guilt and sorrow filling her chest.
And in what seems like a whim, everyone she once called friends are now gone. Only ashes remained...their souls vanishing to oblivion.
She tried to ask of why she was the only one untouched. But none of the jinxes responded.
She tried to fight back, to call for help but she was already abducted and help too far to reach.
She tried to utter Humility's name, but she was left without no one to rescue her. She felt confused of why she wasn't able to reach him. And anyone.
JINKO: Give up calling, all your signals are blocked by our great number. You won't escape.
CARRIE: They'll defeat you.
JINKO: Nope. This time, I'll make sure I win.
CARRIE: You won't! Evil always lose!
JINKO: Nope. It's not always the case, missy. And I'll prove you that.
Jinko motioned his hands to tie the forest spirit, and to fly her far away as possible.
JINKO: Now time to break the news to that punk. He, by now must have been weakened already by Queen Monica.
JARAVI: Jinko, what if they fight back?
JINKO: Those reapers? They're often too busy, and I'm confident they'll only summon a few to fight us. After all, their absence will cause a hundred lost souls to wander around the mortal realm. I'm sure they don't want that.
JARAVI: Very well.
Jaravi flies back with the others, on his grasp was the only remaining forest spirit of Aokigihara forest.
Jinko sighed and looked around him. Thousands of jinxi but none he could connect the same level as Jane. He misses her so much he feels angrier every passing second. He was so eager to end Humility as slowly and as painfully as possible. He plans to kill Carrie, right in front of him.
...
Humility dropped to his knees as he realized his foe. She isn't just any type of being he fought. She isn't dumb, and isn't a reckless fighter. She's a descent, smart and strong foe. Befitting for her title as Queen.
He wanted to surrender, if only not to rescue Carrie and the forest she's into.
MONICA: Mmm...I sensed that my great worker is here.
In moments, Jinko appeared in front of him, smiling and happy as he see how much Humility suffered.
JINKO: Why aren't you using your rage mode, Brylle?
Humility felt angry and mad, he gritted his teeth and attempted to stand.
To yell...
To punch him.
But he's too weak.
JINKO: Good thing I planned this thing perfectly. After all, it's my friend you've...argh! I wanted to end you right now!
MONICA: Jinko, patience...let's take him to the place you brought the little girl. Her spirit isn't strong enough to be taken here, I heard you'd like to torture her before she goes...poof! *cackles*
JINKO: That's right...well, off we go then!
MONICA: I'm so excited...the hundred assigned troops are worth it for his kind of expression.
Humility...why aren't you doing anything? He tried to ask his self...but try as he want he couldn't move. He felt...inferior again. But even worst, he wasn't able to protect those he cares about.
For the first time in a long while, he felt weak and useless again...
Like what his brother always made him feel like before...
He closed his eyes, crying inside.
He lost...
He lost...and now will eventually lose everything he cares about again...
And in perhaps any moment, he'll die a second time, only to vanish permanently.
Had he been a naughty boy again?
...
RED: Fudge where the heck did he go?!
TARA: Chill. I know you're stressed out but it won't help with anything. Let's just open another portal. How many dimensions have we opened now?
RED: 46.
Vixen: You're losing a lot of flare recently. Take mine.
RED: Gosh, thank you.
TARA: What should we open next?
RED: Hn, I wish we have the jinxi's ability to detect the exact location a target is. It makes it difficult that Humility have a protective mechanism to prevent us from detecting him!
NHAIRON: Have you tried the isolation realm?
RED: But no beings would have been there.
NHAIRON: Let's try that...it's perfect for someone who wanted to be alone. But it's dangerous. You can't use your utmost ability there... It's a realm for punished souls. Stay there for too long and you'll be lost forever.
RED: Sounds risky. But okay.
NHAIRON: I'll come with you to make sure you two get out alive...
Red gulped after seeing the dimension they were about to be sucked in. It was too vast, and their flare is limited. The longer they stay, the weaker they become. Only a mighty entity would survive for two hours here. They need to be quick.
They failed to find him, even there. But somehow Nhairon was able to locate a shining object left on one of its sandy area.
NHAIRON: Ah, isn't this the necklace Humility wears?
RED: Yes! Gabby gave it to him once. He was here! But...where is he now?
VIXEN: We should head back. We've searched too long, we'll have to go back and recharge ourselves.
RED: Right.
NHAIRON: Hey Red.
RED: Hm?
NHAIRON: Humility is so lucky he have you guys.
RED: What do you mean?
NHAIRON: He have friends to look after him.
RED: He is kind to us, even though he believes he isn't. He is selfless. Even if he's on the tip of danger...he'd do the same if it were us.
NHAIRON: That's why...in this mission, we need to get him no matter what...
RED: Right...and well, I just wanted to thank you. Though we're not really that close you were...um here to give us help.
NHAIRON: Of course.
RED: From now on, you're part of our circle.
NHAIRON: Thanks but, I don't need that kid.
RED: Oh...
TARA: Stop being a tsundere Nhairon. Just accept the offer.
NHAIRON: Hmph, fine. Whatever.
Pause.
NHAIRON: Wait...what's a tsundere?
...
Carrie cries as Jinko pulls her by the hair, dragging her towards Humility to see.
Seeing her crying face, Humility couldn't help but try to fight back, though because of his weakened body, would always end up falling.
He cursed under his breath.
CARRIE: Humility, it's fine...I just wanted you to know that I'm happy...happy to get to know you...don't try to fight back...I don't want you hurt!
Humility kept pushing, only to be beaten up by Monica every time he tries to get back up.
Jinko laughs, mocking one of the most powerful reapers ever to exist, only to be beaten by his own memories.
JINKO: F*ck you and your girl friend, I'll make sure you pay for making me lose my best friend!
HUMILITY: She saved you!
JINKO: She would still be here with me if you just stayed out of your business and let me get that girl!
HUMILITY: What do you want with her?! She's trying to live her life!
JINKO: She isn't supposed to be linked with you guys! But then Red butt in, and YOU butt in!
HUMILITY: Well it's our duty to keep every soul safe! Dead or alive!
JINKO: You piece of sh-
MONICA: Ehem. Stop talking like children. And Jinko, you're losing your cool again. Aren't you on your way to slowly cut that lady's wings?
JINKO: Oh yeah...
Carrie strived to free from his tight grip but she was powerless against him, and the hundred of jinxi surrounding them.
Humility tried to contact anyone he could using his distress signal but he couldn't get help.
CARRIE: I tried that before...maybe this is our end.
HUMILITY: Don't say that.
CARRIE: Humility, I'm sorry...sorry for being your weakness...
HUMILITY: You aren't.
Carrie looked at him, stared into his purplish eyes, they were full of guilt and sadness. A deep look is what he's giving her.
HUMILITY: My weakness...is my denial...
HUMILITY: Carrie...I'm not as good as you think of me...
CARRIE: Still, I like you lots...and don't think that you're unworthy! No one is perfect after all..
JINKO: Geez, stop with the drama. Let's go to the fun part!
Jinko smiled then pulled of Carrie's wings, making her back bleed in gold. Her eyes enlarging and her teeth trying to dug her lips to cope with the pain.
She screamed.
Humility couldn't bare it anymore.
It reminded him of the brash experience he had during the war.
HUMILITY: Damn you! She has nothing to do with our fight! Let her go! She has nothing to do with me!!!
JINKO: Nah, I don't care. He's with us now...and after her wings, let's move on to her arms.
HUMILITY: You bastard!!!
JINKO: Don't you forget your position now...you should beg me.
MONICA: Jinko...
JINKO: Yes, my queen?
MONICA: I think we have ourselves company.
JINKO: Huh?
Jinko looked behind him and was shocked to see who were there to rescue him...
JINKO: How did they even found him?
