Episode 111: THE KAMI OF THE CHERRY TREE

Even though powerful, the man with the red eye needed some aid of his own. Even the great Silas can't win alone...

Sure his power is to create very powerful illusions, but he felt it quite lacking considering that he still has no clue on how to get the reaper he was after. Jinko is their lead as of now, but that bastard of a jinx is always moving, tricking other yokais for goods he uses for God knows what.

He sighed.

His abilities, are great only if the creatures he's fighting can't distinguish if what he does was a trick or not. In fact, his powers to create illusions is so powerful that it can also trick the mind and heart.

He can create realistic places just by looking at the target. Making it feel real, and seem real. Even the aura he emits make him see more powerful than the creature he's fighting against.

Oh the perks of being an old dark fairy.

But knowing that the boy he cursed before was reincarnated as a reaper, he couldn't help but feel all the bitterness he felt long time ago.

For some, it may be childish, but for him it wasn't just because he didn't had the woman he loved.

He trusted her so much, and the first person he ever truly cared about and loved.

He thought that she wouldn't hurt him, but she did anyways.

And the sad thing about being immortal is that...you'll reminisce the pain forever and ever.

He thinks that after destroying all the remnants of her, he could finally be free from this curse of hatred he constantly feels.

That Reaper...is what he should destroy to finally be free.

But to do that, he needed to consult to another powerful 'Kami' just resting on his fortress.

Sakuya-hime's only son, Hanayo, has been awake since Spring arrived.

And knowing how younger the demigod was than him, Silas knows that his mind could be easily twisted.

More so, he heard from stories that his face looks trustworthy and kind. If he managed to get him as his puppet, fooling the reapers would be an easy task.

Since...try as he may to change his looks, the vibe Silas creates won't hide who he truly is within. A dark...troubled, avenging fairy. Getting an innocent creature like Hanayo, would be a game changer for him. "How wonderful." He even muttered in excitement.

...

Hanayo hears the twigs crunch and break. It felt like a person walking. He felt confused.

Years and years he never did hear anyone approach his sacred tree, especially since his mountain was very high.

What boggles him more is the steps sounds like whoever it was, was alone.

He widens his pink colored eyes, and peaks from above his cherry tree, gathering his courage to know what's below.

HANAYO: Sister? Is that you?

But what he smelled wasn't his sister's fragrant scent. Rather a smell of danger so defeaning that the demigod felt fearful.

He did not saw anyone though, and wondered if it was just his imagination.

He ruffles his fluffy white hair and was wondering if he should continue singing.

But he felt really threatened.

HANAYO: Sister, it's not funny anymore. Hanae, stop playing games with me!

Hanayo peeks below again, and that time he looked very terrified. What was a horned man doing below his beautiful cherry tree?

SILAS: Ow, hi dear Hanayo!

HANAYO: Who are you?

In his voice was apparent fear, and Silas loved that. It seemed that he has the upper hand.

Young demigods are very easy to toy with, huh?

SILAS: Can...you help me with something? My other eye have been stolen by a naughty reaper!

HANAYO: Huh??? Why would a reaper steal your eye?

SILAS: It's frustrating, isn't it? But well, poor me, without my other eye, I can't be as powerful as I used to be before. I was wondering if you would kindly help me. I heard that you always help other creatures whenever they're missing something. You're charming and good at talking, they say.

HANAYO: Yes, but I've never had someone come to me with a missing body part before.

SILAS: *cackles* Well, there's a first time for everything.

HANAYO: But, what's your name?

SILAS: Silas. Isn't it wonderful?

HANAYO: What language is that? It sounds terrifying.

SILAS: What? But Silas is a good name. Well, I was told it was a good name, at least.

HANAYO: Alright sir, let me come down first.

The great kami gently climbs down the tree, and Silas felt amazed upon seeing his full view for the first time. Long white hair and lashes, pink round eyes, white porcelain face, and the elegant-looking yukata he was wearing was truly a sight to behold.

He truly looks like a flower spirit's child.

SILAS: Hah, if not for the voice, you look pretty feminine.

HANAYO: Uh, well, thank you? Anyways, do you know who stole your eye in particular?

SILAS: Well, we're on to finding him. But I really need you to help me as well. You have many followers here, correct?

HANAYO: Yes. But why do we need them in search for a single eye? Just come back to me once you've meet the reaper again and I'll talk to him. I'll give him some of my riches in exchange for your eye and I'm sure he'll be satisfied. Although I find it amusing how a servant of the heavens would toy with a fairy like you.

SILAS: (Tsk. Why won't he just come with me?) Uh, yeah, yeah...anyways, I...really need help since that reaper really has no plans giving it back. He even have many friends to back him up.

HANAYO: What naughty reaper. That's too bad. *sigh* Fine. I will let my pets help you with the search.

Two large Shirohebis, or Albino Japanese White Snakes, came crawling from the tree to Hanayo's arms. They hissed at Silas and Hanayo only laughs at them.

HANAYO: My dear friends, this poor fairy walked up to our mountain to seek help...

The snakes continues hissing.

And Hanayo gives an expression of awe, as if he understands what they were saying.

HANAYO: Bad guy? No, no, not all creatures with horns are evil. Besides, he looks nice enough. He lost his eye too. Isn't that sad?

Silas felt overwhelmed with impatience by Hanayo's continuous explanation and convincing to his two pet snakes.

Hanayo looked rather upset after the snakes continued hissing.

HANAYO: I am very sorry, they're not used to strangers. And they do not trust you for now.

SILAS: (They what??!!! I climbed this tall @ss mountain just to see this flower boy! What the actual-)

HANAYO: Heheh, sir, are you alright? Although you only have one eye, you're very expressive with the last one, I know you're probably hating me now.

SILAS: Uh, not at all! I'm sorry as well. I...I'm just desperate for help. Many refused to help me after all and...I...I'm truly sorry...

HANAYO: Oh.Well...I'm sorry too. But hey, I promise to help you. As a matter of fact, I'll come with you if these snakes won't.

The two white snakes instantly freaks out and after a 'poof' turned into two identical women wearing white kimono, and strawberry pink hair, both bunned neatly.

FLORA: MASTER!!! DON'T!!! WHAT IF HE'S A BAD GUY?!

CRYSA: Master, can you think this through again? I have a bad feeling about this. I don't want you in trouble.

Hanayo looks at them with a smile.

HANAYO: You two, worry so much. Don't worry, I can handle myself pretty well. He needs my help, so I'll give him a hand, okay? Besides, I'm long time an adult already.

FLORA: Come on, master! Your mother did not know of this! You shouldn't leave the mountain!

HANAYO: Mother told me to help those in need as well, right? I'm sure she'd understand.

CRYSA: Master...don't be stubborn.

HANAYO: And don't treat me like a kid all the time! That's right, I'm really mad right now. You're making Mister Silas feel bad right now. He lost his eye, and he needs assurance that he'll have my help. Climbing this mountain must have sucked for him, so I'll climb down with him till he finds his eyes. I'll come back soon, promise!

CRYSA/FLORA: Master! Let us both come with you./MASTER LET US BOTH COME WITH YOU!

SILAS: Wow.

HANAYO: Hah, finally! You wanted to come with me!

SILAS: ...so you convinced them after all, huh?

HANAYO: Yep! And I hope with them, we can finally find whoever you're looking for~!

SILAS: Thank you very much once again! I owe you a lot!

Hanayo gives a faint blush and quickly shooks his head.

HANAYO: I do this for free. Momma told me that kindness should be given without a thought of having a reward in return! It's no big deal.

Silas feels like throwing up. Kindness, now where did he last heard that from?

HANAYO: Mister Silas, are you okay? You look like you're gonna puke.

SILAS: Your mountain is just tall as heck, that's all, hahahha!

HANAYO: Oh, okay, ahahha?

FLORA: *leans to Crysa* I have a bad feeling about this sister.

CRYSA: Me too.

HANAYO: Guys, you do know he can hear you, right?
