Chapter Eight

This whole chamber is yours .You have ten hand maidens and ten guards who will serve you .

Laura calls the ten guards and hand maidens into the hall where they made their identities known .

David and I are their heads ,so anytime you need someone to attend to your issue ,all you need to do is to call any one of them and they will be there within a snap to assist you .

They swore their loyalty to me and they left the hall on my orders .The chamber was very big ,it had a dining hall ,a visitor's hall and a big room where I resided .I wasn't surprised since I was used to this .A king who practices polygamy creates chambers for his wives to have some space and freedom .

The handmaidens were purposely there to dress me up for the king and nothing else .The guards were to protect and escort me wherever I go .Again ,I knew they were there to keep a close eye on my actions .

Krystal ,Laura called out .Since you are the new bride of the king ,you will have to be careful of the other queens especially Queen Gema .

You will be introduced to all your rivals tonight at the music and dance ceremony .Again ,you will also meet all the children of the king who are present in this kingdom since many of the princesses have been married off .Tonight ,they will formally introduce themselves to you as wives of the king and queens of the great Mugal Kingdom .But before then ,I will tell you something about Queen Gema since she is the complicated and jealous wife of the king .

Queen Gema is the head queen among all the other queens of the king . She's also the crowned queen of the kingdom .

She's the king's third wife and also believed to be the king's source of wealth .This is because she has given birth to only females .Twelve of them have been married off already ,the other two are not of age to get married .In this kingdom ,the princesses are married off at an early age of six .

Her children never refused the marriage proposals from powerful kings .The more they agreed to get married ,the more wealth the king claimed .

This made her worthy of becoming the crowned queen in the eyes of the king .

Queen Romina who is the king's first wife used to be the crowned queen but she lost her title when her seventh daughter ,Princess Dimples refused to marry a powerful king that was chosen by her father .She got married anyway and I wouldn't forget how she was dragged barefooted to the kingdom of her husband at such a young age . She was married off at age nine because at age six ,she was not fit to be married off .She needed to put on weight to bring more treasure to her father .I have forgotten the kingdom she was married into but the king was a powerful king .

She was married to King Abad of Swaji kingdom ,I said helping myself to stand on my feet .

But how did you know that Krystal ? ,she asked surprised as she had now recalled it .

I am the tenth princess of Swaji Kingdom and Queen Dimples is my sister in law .I witnessed it all when she was dragged to the kingdom .From the top of a tower ,even the greatest peak couldn't be hidden from my sight .

I grew up in a tower just to prevent me from running away from my fate so there was no way anything that occurred in the kingdom wouldn't reach my sight .I looked at Dimples from a far distance when she was been brought. One thing you should know about queen Gema is that she has equal rights and freedoms as the king but nevertheless ,she still pays heed to his word .

There is one rule in this kingdom and that is "no matter your rights and privileges ,your superiority is never above the king 's " .

I still remember the number of times Queen Gema was slapped across the face and humiliated in the palace court even though she's the crown queen .
