Chapter Twenty

Once everything was back to normal ,the guards thought they stayed up the whole night obeying the instructions of their king .

*I really can't believe we stayed up the whole night watching the tent of the queen ,one guard said as the other guards responded in agreement to what they said .*

Let's check on her Highness and see if she's ready to go out hunting before we return to the kingdom .

Your Highness [they said bowing ],we were about calling you but you are already here. We are here to ask if you are ready to go out hunting for your nature tour ,your highness .

Have you eaten this morning ?

No ,your highness .

How many hours have you stood by my tent ?

Since the time we arrived ,your Highness.

Alright then ,I can see that you are stressed out so you need to have your breakfast before I go and explore the woods .

Besides ,i haven't had anything since morning so I need to have my breakfast before we set off into the woods .

Connie , have you prepared the breakfast already ?

Yes my queen, everything is set .All I'm waiting for are your orders to serve the meal .

Alright then ,I want to have my food now and have it outside so please serve the royal dish to the guards to .They have earned it for standing all night long without sleeping .

*The queen wants us to have her royal dish .This has never happened ,she has adorned us with much respect ,Samuel who is a guard said to his his fellow guards but the head guard Joshua ,brushed off the issue and asked them to be vigilant about the queen because it might be her new way of planning to escape .He assumed that the dish had been poisoned except hers and that's why hers was set aside *

Connie ,please turn the food over into the tray and call all the handmaidens to join me eat the food .

My Queen ,why have you poured your food away ? ,Laura asked as she was shocked .

Laura ,we shall all eat from one particular tray so serve my food in another bowl .

*After Connie serve the queen ,she asked her not to serve anyone until she 's done eating .This was strange ,the handmaidens thought as the guards stood four meters away witnessing what was going on .*

I'm done eating ,look at how fit I am ,this means that I didn't poison the food for the guards in order to escape .

Connie ,serve anyone who wishes to eat and don't bother about those who don't want to .

My queen ,we are sorry .We didn't mean to offend you ,Joshua said on his knees while the other guards also did same .

Joshua ,I know you followed me here because the king asked you to .I also know that ,you are following simple instructions from the king but i didn't come here because I wanted to escape .In case you don't know this ,I worship the king like my god and I know if I try to take advantage of his kindness then I will not live to tell a tale and do you all seriously think that ,I came into the woods to escape and put my life at risk ?

You know what ,pack up and let's go back to the palace .I have lost the joy in hunting in the woods .

*My Queen ,Joshua continued to beg but she had made up her mind to go so they had to follow her orders * .

This is all your fault ,Samuel said to Joshua .If she reports this disobedience to the king then we are better off than dead so let's end our lives before we follow her back to the palace .

*Joshua paid no heed but deep down ,he felt cold shivers run down his spine as he was afraid of what might happen later .

Finally ,we are back home .My queen ,Joshua called out but was shut down by queen Myel . The other guards especially Samuel was afraid of what might happen to them as queen Myel made her made to the throne room and doors shut behind her *

My lord ,queen Myel addressed the king who was sitting on his throne having a few drinks .

You are back already my flower ,but it's quite too soon or isn't it ,the king asked .

My lord ,everything went on well ...she continues to explain what happened to the king who paid attention to her silently sipping his drink .

So what do I get in exchange for fulfilling your wish my flower ?

Queen Myel for the first time and out of her own will, hugged the king and gave a devilish smile .

My king ,everything went on well except for ....she said pulling herself from his embrace .

What's wrong my flower ? ,the king asked lifting up her chin .

She whispered words into his ears and exited the throne room .

Joshua .....the king called out in a loud voice while Joshua's heart jumped into his stomach while standing outside the throne room .
