Chapter forty seven

I don't understand why you administered that herb to queen Marga to save her son"s life .

Have you forgotten how she treated you some years ago .

She never respected you even as the king's first wife .

After ages ,you have regained everything you lost ,yet you still had pity on her .

You should teach them a lesson instead of tolerating their presence ,queen Romina .

Martha ,I know it all .I haven't forgotten how they treated me or my children when I had nothing in this kingdom . I understand your complaints but it wasn't for the sake of Marga that I did what I did .

It was for Wales . You know how much I love that boy.

He's the only prince apart from Prince Duncan ; may his soul rest in peace ,who treated me as a mother .

I don't have male children so I consider him as my son too .

When he used to be a child ,he used to come to me and play with Dimples and her sisters .

He gave me respect and called me mother .

He used to say that , " I'm here ,a substitute for your son " in his joyful smile .

I know that Marga hated that he was close to me but blood is surely thicker than water Martha .

I'm not bothered about the fact that Marga gives me no respect because she considers me her rival .

In marriage ,family is not counted because it's of no use .

She was that little girl that I brought up from infancy and watched her grow before my eyes.

Once she got married to my husband ,she became a wife and a mother who fought for her son's right and I understand that .

She no longer considers me her aunt but I consider her my niece because when her mum who is my blood sister passed away ,she handed her over to me .

Then we were just normal people and i served the king day and night until the king got infatuated with my beauty and married me .

I used to remember how I held her hand and walked her to my chamber when I became queen .

I brought her up until she was finally fit for marriage .The king had interest in her and married her .

Huh ! .. seems funny right ,the king got married to both aunty and niece .

Queen Romina ,she never appreciated what you did for her .

Ever since she became queen ,she thrashed you over as if you never existed .

She became obsessed with jewelries and the worth she had acclaimed .

She even wanted to keep her children away from you but Prince Wales was so stubborn that he kept running to your chamber every now and then .

Forgive me queen ,but your niece is ungrateful ,very ungrateful and I think that you shouldn't give her face otherwise ,she will cease every moment to humiliate you .

Martha ,you know ,when the king proposed marriage to me ,I knew he wanted to give me a better life .

But when he got married to my niece ,I thought the relationship would be the same but it changed .

Her verbal assault and her disrespect towards me were things I endured every time .

I used to ,but now ,it has become a thing of the past .

I consider the girl I raised and loved as my own daughter ,dead . I have buried down her memories together with every time we spent down the drain.

Queen Marga is on her own now .She lives a life that is of her own .

The life she considers worth her so don't worry Martha ,I have gotten over her and that was a long time ago.

At my age ,I don't think that I will have to stress myself over people who don't appreciate me .
