Chapter Twenty Two

"You are right Theodora ,something is fishy .

Let's keep guard here for a while and if nobody shows up ,we will try and remove these logs out of the way and continue our journey ."

If you say so ,Roman .Guards ,you heard him so be on guard .

After waiting for several hours ,it was getting dark and so they quit waiting for the attackers and the guards had to put in alot of efforts before pushing the huge log which had consumed the road aside .

They set up tents in the area and rested however ,all the guards were outside keeping a close watch in the surroundings .

"Roman , won't you apologize to me ? "

Apologize for what ? Theodora ,what on earth should I apologize for ?

"What do you mean what on earth should you apologize for ,huh ?

Have you forgotten so soon what you did to me in front of that good for nothing wife of yours ?"

Shut up Theodora and ....

"Argh!!..." The guards began shouting from outside .

When Roman and Theodora got up to go and check what was happening ,their tent was on fire .

The exit had caught fire and so they cut through the other end of the tent and got out .

All their guards were dead when they got out of the tent .

"Roman ,the guards are dead and so there is no need to try and make the impossible possible by waking them up . Let's quickly get out of here and save our lives .

In a war ,slaves are sacrificed to save their masters ." After Theodora said this ,they both got away from there .

Oops ,we won our first battle with just a twinkle of an eye.

Thank God our army outnumbered theirs and finished off their guards .

"Oh my God Rhian ,it was like one for one .

We didn't have to suffer at all .While they waited to find the attackers who cut the log into their paths ,we were also preparing to finish them off at this site .They didn't even realize that we had already arrived here and we're waiting for them ,Sara rejoiced ."

Setting fire into the tent wasn't difficult at all because all I needed was a coal light to carry out the task .

Theodora is so evil not to care about heir own guards and so we will meet her soon in Kalinga .

The beginning of her torture had just began .

This calls for a celebration ....

"No Lydia ,we can't celebrate yet because we still haven't completely destroyed Theodora .

Remember what Krystal said ,we must always stay alert .

Right now ,we must head to Kalinga and once we are done carrying out tasks over there ,we will head back to the camp and celebrate ."

While Roman and Theodora walked through the forest all night ,Theodora did nothing other than pester him about Jessie .

Her pester provoked Roman who couldn't listen anymore to Theodora badmouthing Jessie .

He angrily left Theodora behind and they walked at long distance paces .

"Roman ,Roman ..wait for me .We are in this together ,you can't just walk off and leave me behind .

Hey Roman ,listen to me at least and wait for me .

Argh!!! ,my leg...argh!!!!" "Theodora screamed in pain as her leg had been caught up in a trap .

When she tried pulling out her leg ,the metal blades kept piercing deeper into her skin ."

Theodora .. Theodora .." Roman rushed to her to help her out but it wasn't easy for him to pull out her leg .

Save me Roman ,I know I'm believed to be a lioness that never gives up but please Roman , don't leave me here. I don't want to lose my leg .."Sniffs .. Theodora wiped away her tears and continued to sniff ."

Theodora ,even though you and I are on different terms when it comes to Jessie ,I know we have one thing in common and that is our warrior capacity .

"Roman ,now that we are all alone in this forest and my leg is been trapped in only God knows whether this a trap for a cane rat or whatever it maybe ,I'd like to confess something to you ."
