Chapter 61: A VISION OR A NIGHTMARE?

(Ken's POV)

I could only see what seems like my reflection-but it was just a blurred face,

And whilst looking at the wasteland, I felt alien to this distant place,

No shade of blue, or green, or yellow,

Just shades of grey, of black, of sorrow.

I could hear screams, I could hear cries,

I could hear Death, singing her lullaby,

I could hear wings, flapping in the skies,

As blood was spilled mercilessly, whilst a thousand body lies.

Demons, reapers, and angels all clashed,

Swords, vines, and thunderous claps,

I felt myself, almost feeling deaf,

But when I opened my eyes yet again, not many was left.

I felt saddened, more than scared, I hope this wasn't a vision,

As how could I ever wait, for the becoming of such destruction?

What broke me more was that familiar faces were gathered around, torn to shreds,

That I could not help but lay down, as my heart bled.

How? How could this be?

Is this world...truly yet to be free?

What if I can only see the future, and not help change it all?

What if..I cannot fulfill, the angels' call?

I tried to wake myself up,

But it felt so real,

From the raindrops freezing my forehead,

To the headache and strain I feel.

The feeling of cold, the feeling of sadness,

It was all so vivid in my head,

The mud on my shoes, and the brush of leaves,

And the moon up above, painted red.

In the center, I saw Raphael and Lucifer,

I saw on each side, what's good and evil,

I ran, ran hoping to fulfill my destined fate,

But when I came, it was already...too late.

I saw a blinding light emerge from the skies,

A loud voice, who caught everyone by surprise,

I tried to see, but it was all too much for me.

I heard trumpets, played by a hundred,

And the raindrops, turned to hail,

I saw the red, turn into blue,

And now I'm not certain of who failed.

Before I could speak, I suddenly awoke,

Gasping for air, as Mar beside me spoke,

"Having a nightmare yet again? I hope you're okay,

If you want company, I can surely stay,"

I smiled at her, but my happiness flew,

As I remembered the dream, oh if she only knew,

Worry quickly enveloped her eyes, and she held my cheeks,

"Tell me what's bothering you, you only have to speak,"

I wanted to tell her how much I'm lost,

Lost between reality, lost between my flaws,

But treasuring the proof of hope in front of me,

I quickly cupper her cheeks, then hugged her tightly.

I just need assurance, I just needed warmth,

I needed her to be alive, when that day comes,

I will strive to be better, to change what must be,

So that this world not suffer more, and be finally free.

I hoped the world won't end,

I hope this world...I could fend,

For I still wanted a future to live in,

So I buried myself deeply in hope, as I pray we win.

Mar looked surprised, rather tensed at my embrace,

But after a while, she too, buried her face,

"It feels weird doing this, but I needed it the same,"

Mar said softly, as my heart grew wild-untamed.

I giggled at her words, but afraid she'd had enough,

Because to be frank, I'd never want to let go,

I needed to hear her breathe, I'm afraid to face the truth,

The truth that not all remains, that all will turn to rot like fruits.

Mar broke the embrace, as I see her stare at me, concerned,

That time I couldn't help myself, my chest just burned,

Tears fell down my cheeks, as I now realized how heavy the responsibility was,

To learn how to help the future, by saving the present to its last.

...

(Raphael's POV)

Suddenly, Ken looked more motivated than before,

In every punch he made, there was recognizable power,

Although when I look deeply into his eyes, I could see sorrow,

But putting it all aside, I'm glad he could follow.

What surprised me the most, was that he broke one barrier today,

Although his hands bled, overall he was okay,

He was sweating, body limp but mind still fighting,

He wanted to help, that's for sure, and I'm glad he learned something.

He collapsed when he moved on to the next barrier,

And I carried him back, while Mar waited for him,

It felt really nice seeing them together,

They must have been friends for a while,

for their shared laughters.

My expression turned to fear, as I realized it will soon be gone,

Those innocent smiles and heartfelt gestures, will soon be none,

That as long as Lucifer roams this earth,

The snow will always be mixed with dirt.

I felt Uriel pat my shoulder,

As I looked at him, ever quite fonder,

"Those humans, I hope I can protect them,

If not...that will be my eternal problem,"

Uriel smiles at me, reassuring my worries,

"It's alright, Lucifer cannot be pleased,

If we cannot make him give up, then we'll fight for what's right,

After all the dark, can never mix with light,"

...

Sellena was dressed in black,

Her crown sitting in her hair,

As the countless demons welcome her back,

Her influence and power, they're now well aware.

As the now sole partner of the lecherious demon,

She now holds the power for whoever demon she'd like to summon,

But despite the promises of power and wealth,

Sadness, longing and regret are what she felt.

"All hail Asmodeus' wife!

All hail the darkness that'd defeat the light!

All hail Lucifer that will defeat the heavens!

All hail the brave, especially the sevens!"

The crowd cheered as Sellena took the throne beside Asmodeus,

Who leaned at her slowly, for a kiss yet she refused,

Still in her heart, she was God's follower,

And for now, she'd stay her ground, and to the enemies, will be closer,

She just hoped she won't end up as the loser...
