Chapter 97: A BIT OF CONFUSION

(First time Lluming and his path crossed;

Location: Imperial Chambers)

It was a dark hallway, with only a few torches lighting the place,

But Azazel loved the dark, and needed privacy anyways.

He had a few guards here and there, but he rarely ever talks to them,

So it was quite no surprise, if he ignored Lluming's presence.

He was way too fixated on the future success of his experiments,

Wanting to dethrone Lucifer, and build a new world after burning it fresh,

He wanted nothing to do with this war,

He just wanted to see them rip each other apart.

He knew well that Lucifer won't get rid of him no matter what,

Because he knows that Azazel (some occasions, called Iblis) had recieved Wisdom as his biggest asset from God.

The demon that's fixated in honing his skills further to achieve his goals,

Was what Lucifer loved about him the most.

Yet too fearful that Azazel might be favored by more demons,

He made sure he won't climb up the ranks any sooner.

To be frank, this pissed Azazel so bad,

As he was stronger than most demons in Lucifer's main pack.

He can't even understand how he could still remain so calm,

Talking to them, and not doing any harm,

He was often used as a mere fighting pawn,

Mainly by Lucifer and Satan, who'd use him all they want.

He kept talking to Eligorr, his biggest achievement yet,

Although he's still quite saddened, that Amaris' ashes weren't met.

It was to pure luck, perhaps, that he mastered the experiment with Eleazar's,

Azazel felt ecstastic, yet wondering why Eligorr's thoughts seem far.

Eligorr stopped, and looked back,

Wondering who the hell the demon who bowed down for them was,

He had curved spiral horns, and honey brown eyes,

Without knowing it was Lluming, just in disguise.

He thinks if the feeling he had back then was normal,

How his heart quickly leaped from his chest, when the demon met his eyes,

He felt a familiar feeling, but nothing more than that,

Azazel felt concerned, "Now, what?"

"Now what?"

"I mean, what was all that?

Why aren't you listening to me?

How do you want things to be?

Do my voice bore you so much?"

"Lord Azazel, it's not like that,"

"Listen, once Lucifer puts you to the main ranks,

You're going to kill the seventh main, named Beelzebub,

So I can finally be recognized, and climb up above,

He's barely useful anyways, and it's fine since it'd cure his torment,

So listen to me, aren't you excited for that moment?"

"Why would I kill Beelzebub? He's not doing me wrong,"

"I am your Creator, so do me that favor or you won't live long,

If I can make you live a second time, then I can end you a second time,

Do what I want, because in reality, you're nothing but a product of mine,"

Eligorr's face wrinkled in expression,

But he nodded his head, and followed him again, though flooded with questions,

He wondered perhaps, that there's a reason Lord Lucifer forbids him to rise,

Perhaps fearful, that Azazel, would worsen his vice.

Whenever he looks at Azazel, he sees no soul,

His eyes speak of doom, and that of a bitter fall,

Eligorr felt nothing, even when he had almost everyone's respect,

As he still felt no purpose, rather than to be used himself.

Azazel switches the light,

And led the hybrid inside,

Eligorr felt quite surprised,

While Azazel's proud smile became wide.

Two people, all in masks, were standing quite expressionless,

"Look at them, once weak humans that are but frail and helpless,

But I created them to be like you, from the thousands of years of experience,

This is my year, I'm telling you, that Lucifer will then return to ashes,"

The masked people bowed down obediently,

As Eligorr bowed as well, before heading back to leave,

The two masked individuals, followed his lead,

As Azazel triumphed, and yet doubled his greed.

He wondered if he can make Michael think he's the nice guy,

To keep resisting the offers of Satan with another lie,

And when Michael is killed by his own very hands,

Imagine what legions, he can make to command.

Azazel was so excited, looking forward for such thing,

But when he looked at the broken shards of glass, he felt his confidence melting.

Two black soulless eyes, looking at him,

Reminding him where he once was,

Once in heaven, once not tainted with sin.

He quickly walked out of the private room, to the balcony, to get some fresh air,

But he saw a gloomy Satan, looking far, just standing there,

The devil seems to be in deep thoughts, so Azazel took the chance,

To make him feel like he's reliable, although not so at first glance.

"I apologize if I interrupted your thinking,"

Satan nodded, without even blinking,

He was submerged in thoughts, Azazel himself can never ponder,

Oh the countless possibilities, which of them? Azazel wondered.

"Can I be of help?" Azazel asked patiently.

But Satan shook his head, as the wind whispered softly.

Satan's hair flew in the air, making his crimson red eyes shine in the darkness,

How beautiful they were, although covered in unspeakable sadness.

Azazel looked at him, thinking of what to say,

But nothing came out from his lips, as Satan then caught his gaze,

"What are you doing here?" the red-eyed demon asked,

"Don't feel so threatening suddenly, I was just here to hopefully relax,"

"Very well, how were your experiments?"

"Everything I want, were clearly met,"

"Good for you," "And how about you, my Lord?"

"What about me?" Satan repeated, his voice sounded bored.

Satan sighed and looked at the sky,

"Whenever will those be mine,"

The demon then rose his hands above,

Wondering if their efforts, will be enough.

He knew that defeating their Own Creator would be no easy task,

That they have to give qualities, that they were once was,

That Satan needs to be ruthless, to not feel such remorse,

But he felt so restless, who wouldn't, of course?

(When will this war stop at last?

Time sure do went fast,

But every second, felt like delusion,

Am I dreaming? Or are we really winning?)

"My Lord, if you don't mind, can I ask what you're thinking?"

Satan looked back, "My thoughts are not worth knowing,"

"I...I'm sorry, but...you feel quite saddened, my Lord,

You can tell me all, so it'd lessen your load,"

Satan can't say if Azazel was lying or not,

After all, how can you? When his eyes were full black,

He gave him the benefit of a doubt,

Though he still feels uncomfortable when he's around.

He noticed that Azazel felt unbearingly more polite today,

He rarely complained now, and was willing to obey,

Just what hit his head that he seems kinder than before?

Satan fears, he has some formulated some sort of evil ploy.

"Azazel, I have nothing to say,

My thoughts aren't important at the moment,

And I am also okay.

Thank you for your concern, I will leave soon,

I just wanted some time. To stare at the stars and moon,"

Azazel bowed, as Satan leaves still feeling suspicious,

While Azazel watched the same sky, thinking of all the days he'd be victorious,

But when he noticed that Satan left a snake to guard the balcony,

He sighed as he won't be monologuing any quickly.

He felt stressed than relaxed, knowing that something is watching him,

(Drake, Satan's loyal serpent, sure was annoying even back from the days)

He chose to sit down, and gestured the snake to come closer,

But the red eyed serpent, didn't even follow Azazel's order.

Azazel felt rather irritated, even a snake won't see him as master,

What else when he rules them all? Would they end up in mere laughters?

"Drake...or whatever you want to be called, why won't you come near me?"

"For I am born, to serve my Master, only,"

That answer did not satisfy the demon,

He was one of the strongest after all,

But the serpent didn't fear him even a bit,

So he could only watch there, as his chest felt lit.

How much does he need to prove to get their respect?

How much effort should he give? So to their eyes, he'd be perfect?

Such years of draining himself didn't seem to be worth it,

As why was he not recognized? By Satan's mere pet?

...

Satan watches from above them,

Merging with the shadows, though his red eyes were still gleaming,

He saw how much Azazel strived to be recognized,

Not contented with Lucifer's praises, still searching for a prize.

He sits on the dragon statue, and continued to watch,

To prove Azazel's betrayal, but didn't see much,

Azazel simply looked bothered, as he tempted the snake to come closer,

How pitiful he looks, he never knows when things should be left over.

"Azazel, Azazel, Azazel...when wil you grow up like the others?

Lucifer needs you, but would never let you up the ladders,

There should only be one prideful demon in the seven,

And it's Lucifer, you two, will never be even..."
