Chapter 118: LOOK AROUND YOU

Lucifer walked away, as Leviathan absorbed what he just said,

He must be confused, surprised, shifting here to there on his bed.

The Lord of Demons went completely quiet,

He submits to no one, but the child to die, he won't let.

He'd humble himself just for a day,

For he knows what neglect feels in a way.

He doesn't care if it's just another child,

But it's one of Leviathan's, one of the first who followed his plans.

Lucifer may not pay much attention to Leviathan,

But he values him also, just like he does to Satan.

It's just that...too much attention could make Leviathan overbearing,

He hated that part of him, there's no denying.

His steps however, stopped when Azazel came to him speedily,

"Astaroth! He's dying!" And Lucifer bolted immediately,

He went to the demon who was pale as grey,

He lost too much blood, even stitches failed to save.

Lucifer saw the fear present in Azazel's eyes,

Yet he also knew he've done all he can so most of them survive,

He let it pass, although it deeply saddened his heart,

Astaroth was loyal, able, and smart.

The demons called out the other remaining leaders,

Helding a long-kept tradition,

If a legion leader is about to die,

Better it be on Lucifer's hands.

Lucifer would only do this if he's close with the demon,

Not that many that were slain, were not remembered,

Lucifer sighs, and chanted a few words in hebrew,

Then after so, he cutted his throat, and blood then spew.

Better be killed by their leader,

Than from Uriel,

or be damned their ego.

The six standing main, then covered his body with red cloth,

As they tell their last words of gratitude and thought,

Sellena could only watch from the side,

As she held the hands of Asmodeus' tight.

Is what she's seeing real?

Can demons really feel?

Feel gratitude, shed tears?

She couldn't believe her eyes and ears.

When the ritual is over, the body is burned on sight,

The demons then looked at her one by one, then told her to leave for the meantime,

They took turns checking the fifth Lord's condition,

"To see him open his eyes, how much time?"

Belphegor asked, quite concerned,

But even Azazel, for sure does not know.

"It depends, but he'd be faster to recover once November comes,

He'd stand up by then, maybe? Let's just hope as we can,"

"Have you heard of...the news? Involving Leviathan's child?"

Satan asked him, as Belphegor's eyes became wide.

"Ah, I've been sleeping on news recently, uh, not really,

If he had a child, then would it be with us, or them?"

"That's tricky, depends on who the child resembles more, perhaps?"

"But Mammon, a demon's blood is always thicker, right?"

"Yes, Belphegor, but who really knows for sure?

Only Abaddon II and that Azalea had the offspring as proof,

The child was a splitting image of them two,

So...no one really nows how it'd go.

Maybe it'd stay with them regardless,

Maybe they'd just ask what demon babies wanted,

It's really tough to kill the baby,

It's one of them, in a way, no maybes,"

"Mammon, the angels had considered sacrificing a pure angel to lose her chastity,

Just so they can map our fascility,

That itself, is a question to morality,

They may kill the child, if not handled properly,"

"Beel is right," Satan replied,

As he scanned the room twice,

"But...we need the child,

we've lost more than those of angels and reapers combined,"

(Lucifer)

"Yes, definitely, so...we'll make sure we'd get the baby,

Manipulate them perhaps of how a task a demon child can be,

Speaking of manipulation, Satan, do come with me,"

"No, that's a bad move,

They know my sin, so it's not as it should,

Look sincere, kind and humble,

Make your reasons seem valid, so we can avoid trouble.

Think as if you're friends, so we can get Levi's son or daughter,

Speak as if you're a lamb, soft and vulnerable."

The demons agreed yet again with Satan,

(Lucifer)

"Look as vulnerable, sheepish as we can,

That's great, now I do hope they still have their hearts,

We're in the middle of war, and they may still think it's a trap,"

(Beel)

"True so, but what if it's a trap for us?"

(Lucifer)

"Would angels use deceptive measures? I don't think they'd be enough,

If it's a trap, we may notice it right away,

Azazel is coming, and his eyes are sharp,

He needs no double takes,"

Leviathan kept quiet, thinking of it still,

How would it affect them?

How should he feel?

Soon, the short meeting stopped,

As Sellena only waited outside,

Belphegor gave her a glance,

"Sellena, you haven't eaten all night,"

Sellena broke her eyes from him,

As she stared at Asmodeus, still in a deep sleep,

"When will he ever wake up from that dream of his?"

Sellena's eyes showed true glistening tears.

Pitying Asmo's wife, Belphegor forced her to be accompanied by the maids,

"Take her to the kitchen, wash her and give her food, and clean her face,"

The maids showed humility, and carefully led Sellena towards the kitchen,

But Sellena's mind, was confused, rattled, and shaken.

Why does she feel this way?

So vulnerable, her thought far away.

She forgot about her plans at the meantime,

As she still hurt deep inside.

...

Morning came,

And the fated date,

The demons woke up early,

Could barely wait.

They blew their trumpets, to open the gate,

The three Demons, flew away,

leaving their hate.

(Leviathan's POV)

The wind felt more chilly,

And bland were the surroundings upon me.

The city once thriving and colorful,

Now painted in colors, dull.

I could smell the awful scent of smoke,

And the disgusting smell of a nearby corpse,

I knew to build a new world we must destroy this present,

But it sure looked quite a mess.

Insects flew here and there,

Barely not a single bird had stayed.

It was an awful sight, I do agree,

But it's a small sacrifice, of what we could recieve.

Lucifer whistled, perhaps he was bored,

"Are you sure Samael ain't fooling you? That demon's heart is torn,"

"Shut it Leviathan, he's still a decent guy,

He does switch sides but he never lies."

We stand atop one of the few structures that remained,

Anticipating for the time she come may,

And when Lucifer suddenly patted my shoulder,

I know now who came out from the shadows.

The slender figure of a woman,

And a tall and well-built man,

Raphael and her, flew towards us, waringly,

With enough distance, for they, to flee.

She looked at me with the fiercest eyes,

Opposite of what she gave me those lovely nights,

She then spoke, without further warning,

"Do you see now? What this world is becoming?"

"Yes, I see it clearly, we're winning,"

I said teasingly, but she spoke further, no resisting,

"Are you aware of where your actions are leading?

Do you not see that this is the future you're unknowingly getting?"

"Pff, who said this is the future? This is merely the beginning,"

Lucifer backed me up, as Azrael deepened his breathing,

Azrael whispered, reminding him perhaps of our purpose,

While Raphael, held Callista upclose.

...

Raphael whispered to her ear,

"We aren't meant to fight, so to be clear,

We are here to have our arrangement fixed,

Don't let your hate, make your reasoning weak,"

"I just don't want this scenery to be the first thing my child sees,

I thought all this time, you're with me,"

"But you're making them all pissed and angry,

If their patience run out, it's too late to be sorry.

Look around you, it's impossible that they aren't aware already,

They planned and wanted this, for centuries many.

You can't simply tell them what to do and not to do,

They have their own minds and choices too.

We need to accept the fact that they will stay the way they are for the spite of it,

You can't tell them to change in just a whim,"

Callista calms down, and looks at Leviathan,

"This daughter, or perhaps son,

I will raise him if he's one of us,

If she or he is just like his father,

Even with a heavy heart, I will surrender.

I cannot pick the future of my child,

Sometimes evil cannot be stop from its spread,

It may hurt my heart and mind,

But I cannot stop of where his behaviour may lead.

All I ask, is you to take him as your own if ever,

Love him, shelter him, before the One True Lord punishes you after.

I want my child, though evil or not, to feel the warmth of love,

Although he's free, to choose and walk his own path.

I only ask you, to do the best you can,

I trust you with this one thing, Leviathan..."

Leviathan felt himself freeze from his position,

He felt his heart stir, a dozen different emotions,

He wanted to speak, but no words came out,

Lucifer could only look at him,

But he dare not open his mouth.

The wind blew colder, as the two sides were quiet,

Callista told Raphael to go now, if there's no more words left.

Leviathan, for the briefest moment, felt no envy in his heart,

And that for her to stay a moment, was all he ever asked.
