Chapter 124: NOVEMBER'S WELCOME

The man in red smelled like fire and ashes,

Those who saw him finally revealed himself, instantly have surprised faces.

The one who reacted the most was Barachiel himself,

"And you dare come back here, after the scar you had left."

"I know that I did you all wrong,

That I shouldn't have hopped in to Azazel's plans,

That when things went bad, I shoudn't have ran,

But...all I ever wanted, was to purify man.

I cut my ties with them I swear,

Now, to what he has to say, I no longer care.

I am here, and I could kneel if you want,

Just please, forgive me if you can."

"Even so, why come back here?

What is your purpose, what do you heed?"

Raphael asked, unconvinced,

"No matter what you do, you're still a friend of that Dark Prince."

"I heard that Callista will become a mother soon,

I heard it from the faeries, and the wandering ghouls,

I am here to guide you, my intentions are good."

"We are fine. The last time we let demons on our side,

many of our men died,"

Raphael continued on, as Jegudiel simply frowned.

"You can leave, we do not need a creature with horns on our side,

Lucifer is cunning, and Satan is wise,

Do you really think you can convince us with one try?

We won't listen anymore, even if you try a countless nights."

Jegudiel said, sharpening his eyes.

Samael pursed his lips as he wait still,

"I'd try tomorrow, I definitely will."

He left and just like that, merged with the shadows,

Leaving Lluming clueless, expecting a quick tomorrow.

He didn't recognize Samael that much,

He barely left heaven, and he wasn't in touch.

He looked at the angels behind him and asked,

"Who was the man? And what is his task?"

Barachiel cleared his throat first,

"That creature choose no clear side as I've heard,

He only wanted to know which of the humans are true,

He plots the hardships and hindrances to see who.

He had good intentions, but bad executions,

He was said to still love God, but chose his own path, of revolution.

He was never that sinful as Satan and Lucifer,

But he's still caused illness, and suffering for the people."

Lluming nodded as he ponder the words,

"So he only believes in one Lord,

Despite it, we cannot risk another treachery,

No matter how we look at it, he can still be an enemy."

Raphael nodded agreeing with Lluming,

As Jegudiel kept a worried face, unsure of what's becoming,

"Callista is afraid, and I am as well,

What if Leviathan, want to take the child away?"

"That's not happening, the child is free to choose,

Only when he knows who he is, will the outcome be obvious.

If he loathe demons, he can stay with our side,

If he loathe angels, then he'd be thrown to the ocean of fire.

We know that it's true, and applies to all mortals,

Choose one side that will be your final,

We don't need help from those creature of darkness,

They only inflict pain and eternal madness."

Callista overheard the conversation,

And walked away, feeling frustration.

She knows that there's half a chance her child would grow to love evil,

But she kept praying all night, that the child grows to be an angel.

She had no power to know the outcome at all,

Even if Ken tried to peer into the future,

Ken was shown to only see in his own accord the nearest outcomes,

And those far off visions, he didn't do on his own account.

She even tried to talk to Chalom, the angel that only appears in visions,

But the angel was not yet called, to tell her anything as sooner.

She grew frustrated, and felt she was at fault,

How can she save her baby? The day that the child be born.

What if he's manipulated into darkness?

Since the world is sinful and full of sins,

Would her words be enough to convince?

Would her heart be enough to make the child stay?

Her loud prayers woke Mar,

Who was just beside her room,

She walked towards her and checked the cries,

And her presence gave Callista delight.

"Ah! Martha! What do I do to calm my fears?"

Her loud voice almost caused ringing in her ears.

Mar smiled and sat down beside the grieving woman,

"Just think of positive things as much as you can.

Don't cry much too, it will affect the child,

If you want him to form normally, always crack a smile.

Think of what makes you happy,

And don't forget not to fake it, obviously."

Callista broke down, in tears of joy and happiness,

"Geez, I guess the things they say about pregnant woman makes sense."

Mar giggles, laughing at Callista's sudden mood swings,

"I'm going to the main cavern, is there anything you want me to bring?"

"Nothing, ah, oh wait! Can you bring me meat and water!

And fruits and also vegetables!"

Mar smiles and nods, as she hop along,

And on the way, she met Ken who had just woken up.

"Good morning!" She greeted with optimism.

As Ken immediately stuttered, although she knows the meaning.

She patted his head, which made Ken feel bashful,

"I just woke up...and now you're making my heart work harder."

"What? I just greeted you, that's all I did,"

"Tsk, you know I'm weak when it comes to this."

"Hahah, whatever, I'll grab us something to eat,"

"Nah, I'll come with you, I can grab food for myself."

Their laughs and banters echoed throughout the cave,

Making people feel happy, some annoyed, while some can't look away.

The cave was not as silent anymore,

Day by day, the people look contented and comfortable than before.

And yet when Mar gave Callista her share,

That they just grew from prayers and faith,

A surprising wave of dread washed over her chest,

She looked at him, "Do you feel it too, Ken?"

They looked around to see everyone had the same expression,

Curious, scared, some hugging their mothers.

"You haven't noticed it before since you always feel scared,

But that feeling of unspeakable dread,

It's the sign that a certain demon will be stronger,

Since the nearing month, will be November.

Pray that the darkness won't win if ever,

Since I've heard of tales that he pisses of the reapers,

He'd kill men and women alike if he's angry,

The real work of Satan, the real demon of longing.

Don't trust his smile and his flowery words,

The real Asmodeus may awaken, and perhaps you'd fail to know-

That he had you within his fingers, only to be crushed to bits,

He knows how to control those around him,

He's a monster, pretending to be sweet."

Raphael informed as he recalled his former encounters,

Times where Asmodeus, was fierce and a monster,

He looks mellow, but who really knows?

What if he's just waiting, to deliver the final blow?

The people felt quiet as they wonder what the demon looks,

Was he ugly? Teeth as sharp as hooks?

Was his eyes as red as the blood of warriors?

Was he as cunning, as devious, as the demon Lucifer?

Ken recalled his memory of when he was with the witch,

He saw Asmodeus, he was handsome, and fit.

He doesn't look like a monster, although that time he look pissed.

But the Witch had told specifally told him, he grew mellower as the time passed and blinked.

The witch described him as descent,

but Raphael described him the opposite.

Were they talking about the same person, if that's it?

Ken felt quiet and troubled,

as Mar could only wonder.

"Why is the truth so elusive?

Who should I believe?"

Ken saw Asmodeus, and heard the witch's tale,

Was it all a lie then? Is he really a beast untamed?

He knew that his answers will come sooner,

Once he meets, the demon of November.

...

Sellena visited Asmodeus yet again,

His hair growing quickly every day.

It grew so fast she feels surprised every time she enters.

She was then reminded he's a demon, and that it's almost the end of October.

She smiles happily as she saw the wounds fading away,

She kisses his cheek, as she excitedly waited for the day.

One night, Asmodeus had managed to wrap his fingers around hers,

Which made Sellena, more excited than ever.

She continued to wait patiently,

Although her heart feels a bit heavy.

Like it's nervous just the same,

Hearing of tales, that he'd be different once awake.

Beel warned him that Asmo's control isn't as strong when it's November,

That his impulsive actions were more than doubled.

She can't shake off the feeling that it may be danger than awaits her,

More than a calm, sweet, and patient lover.

Beelzebub saw Sellena had fallen asleep, head on Asmo's chest,

So he stayed, peering through the window to make sure she's safe.

He waits there patiently, even fighting off his hunger,

Because he doesn't want his friend, to do something he'd regret after.

He does that every single night,

Making sure Sellena's never out of sight,

Once Asmo wakes up from his long slumber,

No one was really sure, if he could wait any more.

.

Sellena felt her fingers tightly held,

As she opens her eyes and saw Asmo was awake,

She quickly cried and wrapped her arms around him,

Even though unsure, of what mood he's really in.
