Chapter 181: FRAGMENTED

Ken watched, fascinated by the quiet baby in his arms,

He thought he was adorable, though it's lack in giggles was...concerning,

but Martha doesn't mind.

She watches as Ken tried to make it laugh,

But to no avail,

It's emotions it lack.

Lluming sighed, "Have you forgot?

Callista, though she means good,

Gave her own child a curse.

Tsk, she've been so...reckless,

She should have known the effects.

Yes, he may not have desires,

But he won't also have happiness."

"Well, I think I can make this child smile a bit,"

Ken stubbornly said without much thought,

"Oh, have you not think?

No emotions, means no, and never at all."

Ken brushes it off as Ken handed him the little child,

"You have it, now, if you are truly of God,

You can make this baby laugh."

"Excuse me?" Lluming asked, surprised,

As the child stares at him,

As if reading his mind.

He felt an odd feeling just being watched by the emotionless baby,

Sure, he doesn't make any noise,

But the child also looked quite empty.

As if what he's holding was just an illusion,

And not a person.

Because what builds someone,

Is their emotions.

He sighed, and held the baby,

Singing, what Ken and Martha thought was a beautiful lullaby.

Stacy watches near, as she can't help but envy the attention,

Samael noticed, and poked her in the back,

which caused the witch to react in aggression.

"You startled me! What the he-"

"No cursing, at least, not here."

"Ugh, you're so annoying, stop doing that, will you?"

"Okay, whatever you want me to."

Silence fills the air,

As they both awkwardly, only stood there.

But Stacy, being impatient by the quiet,

Spoke out to him,"Your wounds okay?"

"Hah, my wounds? How will they be okay?

Hm, I guess not, they're healing pretty quickly,"

"That's not what I meant!

Don't be silly!"

Samael could only laugh as Stacy's voice become louder,

Eventually, making the focus shift to her.

Ken laughs along, thinking that Stacy was trying to hide her concern,

As Martha chuckles as well,

While Lluming, continued to feel scorn.

He finds her eyes quite desceptive.

But he had no proof yet, for others to believe.

*sigh* If only he could read minds,

Then things would have been easier,

He'd get rid of those skin-shiftings kinds.

"Sir Lluming, are you...okay?" Martha asked, quite worried of his state.

The archangel only smiled, but he felt uneasy anyways.

Stacy seemed to know Samael, even before their supposedly "escape".

"You hold the baby for now," Lluming said as he walked away,

Martha was left in confusion but didn't dared ask.

Although she had a lot of questions,

playing in her mind.

("What was that?")

...

(Lluming's POV)

No. No. No.

I couldn't be the only one who thinks it's suspicious.

*sigh* This is the advantage if we always put our heart first.

Perhaps Sir Selaphiel is saying the best after all,

No matter how they act in the surface,

They may be hiding our fall.

But I need to make them reveal their intentions themselves.

It may not be easy, but I must think of a way.

Never will I let them take another important person from me,

I need to take this suspicion, much seriously.

If sir Michael will not listen to my pleas,

And to the logic that surrounds us,

If he thinks we're indebted to those fleas,

Then I'll make them ruin their trust.

Surely, my guts is not wrong,

And I'm feeling this way for a reason.

Or...

Am I being prideful again?

Wait..

Am I infected with the sin of Lucifer?

I stopped from my tracks,

Thinking back and forth if I should go or head back.

I...don't know what's the best thing to do that point,

But I know, I have to do some dirty things just so they be exposed.

The parasites won't leave unless disturbed,

And I know they won't go on their own.

Despite the many thoughts that I could be wrong,

I knocked for Sir Selaphiel,

I hope he've heard.

And after much anticipation,

He did opened up,

He showed surprise,

But accepted me nonetheless.

"What is it, that's bothering your mind?"

He asked as if reading my unease.

"I don't...feel too welcoming of Stacy and Samael,

After all, they may be shifters, who could tell?"

"But no matter, we are surrounded by kind hearted people,

Surely, Michael will deny the accusation.

That chief would rather get himself hurt than kill a person,

He may have killed a thousand, but for him to slay someone,

He'd need a fundamental reason."

"Then how could we expose them?"

"Well, have you tried talking to them?

I cannot do it, as I am filled with rage whenever I see that demon,

Even if I wanted to be calm,

I...for a fact, cannot stand him close to me,

He stinks of all bad decisions."

"Then I'd take the pleasure.

I'd talk to them, but what content would I ask for?"

"Anything you think would be hard to lie about,

A truthful person rarely stutters and take some time recalling something from mind."

"And what if they rehearsed it?"

"Ask another, make sure they're consistent,

And to make everything worth it,

Take someone with you,

So you'll have proof.

I'd consider Joseph.

That angel always speaks out his mind.

He's the last angel,

Chief Michael would suspect to lie.

And although your little interrogation may take a while,

It's worth it, once the imposters are exposed off the hive.

Samael, that demon, he's not as strong as he was before,

He fought differently,

I doubt he and this Samael,

Is the same person.

And if he truly is not,

I wonder what happened,

To the real Samael.

And who is the creature,

Pretending to be the fallen angel."

"Well, to not make you anticipate things much,

I will try my best to quicken the tasks,

I hope that we find out their plot,

Letting them in was a mistake,

And those who are aware of it, are quite frankly, a lot."

"Well Lluming, that's the disadvantage of a forgiving heart.

I've...the only difference between me and Michael,

Is that I couldn't care less on those I do not hold an attachment to,

However, this is, as you know, the angel's curse.

Take me for example,

Although I know all of Lucifer's sins,

I did not cut off his head when I had the chance,

Instead,

I let him fall from the heavens,

As I bid him goodbye,

Hoping that after some time,

He could change,

And return to us,

But it was a delusion of mine."

I was quite surprised that Sir Selaphiel would still think that way about Lucifer,

I loathe that monster.

He killed a lot of our sisters and brothers,

And despite all of it,

Sir Selaphiel still cared about that little creature.

I continued to ponder what Lucifer could have done to still hold a place in his heart,

Until I saw the sadness, reflected in his eyes.

I knew it was filled with regrets, guilt, anger, loneliness and fading hope,

Because, I've seen it countless times before.

Although I couldn't help but question,

Does that monster still deserve salvation?

"You should go ahead," His tone changed into something softer,

So all the time he looked serious and well,

Was just something covered by a well-thought facade?

"Don't be a fool, and forget what I last said,

Lucifer will never, find his heart to change."

...

Day by day, Lucifer feels more and more upset,

A confusing feeling, bothering his chest.

It may not be the first time that someone tried to kill him,

But...a lowly slave? Really?

No matter how hard he tries, does he not strike the fear of a god?

Is he truly that vincible to them?

How...utterly pathetic.

He looks at the skulls decorated in his shelf,

And the emblems of the highly angels he had killed,

None of them, seemed to scare the others?

Lucifer was then filled with anger, then he cursed.

The humans, are starting to think more and more highly of themselves,

Where have they pulled off such confidence?

Even at Haborym's ceremony, one dared outsmart him,

Are they becoming braver or stupid?

Whatever the answer was, one was clear,

He felt underestimated,

How dare they target a King.

And what pisses him the most was that he did not expect it.

And now every moment spent with others,

Make him feel a bit paranoid.

What else must he do?

To strike nothing but terror?

Had he weakened that they thought they could kill him?

What were they...thinking?

Suddenly, he heard knocks on his door,

Interrupting his release of inner turmoil.

He opened it, with a faked smile of comfort,

But realized it was of no use,

When he saw Satan by the door.

"Oh, it's you? What is it this time?"

He asked, voice clearly filled with hatred and nuisance.

"I am only here to help you with your plans,

Because I suspect, someone you trust,

May be plotting behind your back."
