Chapter 201: DODGE OR DEAD

"Now, just how can things get any worse?"

155 said as tears were about to burst.

Haborym only sighed as he hands her one of his glowing earrings.

And in a serious tone told her,

"Go and take the kids,"

155 gulped as she ran as fast as possible,

While children, though afraid, tried their best to follow.

155's track was blocked however,

By a ceiling-crawling monster.

It had eight eyes in total,

That is visibly seen for being white.

It screamed and revealed its countless set of teeth,

While also showing it's impressive sets of limbs.

155 felt like dying when she saw it up-close,

But not wanting to die, continued on with the sprint,

She dodged the monsters attack,

And had already successfully passed.

But hearing one of the children had been caught,

Rethought her decisions, and stopped.

Despite feeling too scared to go back,

She fought her own fears, to do what was right.

She then quickly jumped at the monster,

And despite being afraid of heights, held on tighter.

And just as the monster's head turned towards her,

Quickly laid out her plan to end as victor.

With the metal bar on her hand, she jabbed its eye.

And the monster, shocked and in pain, released the child.

She encouraged them to run all they can,

But couldn't help but scream in pain, when the monster's hold proved too tight.

The mother quickly told her son to go ahead,

As she threw her shoes to the monster's head.

The monster opened its mouth and was about ti eat her,

When out of nowhere, was given a hard blow.

The mother looked at her son,

Who had regrew some arms.

"He really is...a half-demon alright,

I didn't even noticed him, he was so fast."

155 commented as the kid sliced its leg,

Releasing the woman, who almost end up dead.

Upon hearing what happened, Gabriel then said,

"If the children have abilities, they should use it as well."

Haborym laughs as he kicks a monster down,

"To control them to do us favors, how?"

"Well, I don't know, I thought you know a thing or two about hybrids,"

"I told you before, I don't work here."

Gabriel then glowed in order to navigate his surroundings,

But after seeing the number of monsters left,

Felt a bit disheartened.

"So...we're really going to die in this stinky hallway,"

Gabriel says, as Haborym reminded him to be guarded.

"Look at your left, curly!"

"Oh, right! Wait...did you just call me curly?"

"Sorry, I forgot your name out of nervousness,

Also, just how many are these?"

Humility's whip, with clawing mechanism on its end,

Quickly tore one of the monster's flesh,

And despite fighting and defending the rest,

He still managed to count them, "35 at best."

"What?! I hate that number,"

Gabriel whines, as he slices one in half.

For some odd reason however,

It just healed itself back.

"What the actual-"

"Archangel Gabriel, I think I know what's up,"

"What is it though? Why are these monsters so tough,"

"We need to ask the children their weaknesses,

After all, these came from their heads."

"How are we going to do that?

They're already far ahead."

Haborym quickly releases his snakes,

Giving them objectives as they slither away.

Gabriel quickly opened his barrier when the monsters are too fast to hit,

But because of their number, the barrier starts to break.

"I don't like this, not one bit,"

"We're not going to die tonight, so don't act too negative,"

"When I told Belphegor I won't die in his hands,

I didn't expect him to still do a pretty good job,

Tsk, that lazy bastard,

And now I have qualms if I'll ever get out,"

"You're quite the talker, sir Gabriel,"

Haborym commented as he charges as well.

Humility was thrown to the ground rather harshly,

And if not for Gabriel's swift swoop, would have been crushed by the monsters' belly.

"That is one fat monster,"

Gabriel commented looking at their contender.

It had one big eye on its center,

With no limbs, and no mouth whatsoever.

"Tsk, I really hate Belphegor for having such a great ability,

Though I wonder if he can still peacefully sleep with these,

Oi! Haborym! Cover my back!

I can provide light, but can't protect all sides,"

"On it!" And Haborym did as told,

Using illusions to trick the monsters to not follow,

The children had successfully been far from danger,

Until the mother's son quickly remembered his feeder.

"Mama, I have to save miss Sabrina,"

"Oh, dear, I don't think we can with all this trouble,"

"Mama, please, she's punished this day,

She is locked upstairs,

And I want her to be saved."

155 was losing patience,

"We're just here to rescue kids, and that's it,"

"But she took the punishment meant for me,

Earlier, I tried to escape."

"What the? Well, that's not your fault now,

She saved you, and that's the end of it,

How can we go upstairs? The monsters could trap us there,

For now, let's just focus on ourselves."

155 tried her best to convince him,

Until he quickly storms out and goes upstairs.

The children followed too, and didn't even hesitate,

As 155 could only curse and scream in her head.

The mother followed as 155 thinks again,

"So a woman named Sabrina, will be the reason for our deaths.

Great, how foolish can they be?

The archangel, Haborym and the reaper,

Won't be enough to finish off the monsters."

After seeing snakes crawling towards her however,

Was quickly forced to go up and seek the children,

"Ask them, ask them the monster's weaknesses,"

The snakes repeat, as 155 could only say, "On it."

She takes a deep breath after recalling her uneventful days at the demon's service,

She wonders if trying to escape and dying will be worth it.

Since, even if she doesn't age,

She could still lose her life, if she fails at this play.

She quickly opens the smelly and rusty door,

And was shocked when she saw a huge aquarium.

Inside it, was a woman sleeping with chains,

Her defining feature, is her ridiculously long hair.

"There's a cover up there,"

The son tells his mother who only nods in response,

One of the children, who had an ability to jump high,

Tried to open the tab, but found it to heavy to lift and break.

"The glass, we can break it right?"

One of the children suggested to the crowd,

"A lady...in an aquarium, isn't she dead?"

155 asked, earning their heads to turn around.

"Nope. She isn't dead, but I bet she's not comfortable,

Her hair is too long, she can't see at all,"

"I know that, and now what are you planning to do?

Don't tell me we'll carry the aquarium,"

They shook their heads as the snakes walked inside,

Asking them for the weaknesses of the monsters, following behind.

Before they could reply however,

Gabriel and Humility arrived, breathless as ever.

Haborym locked the door and asked them angrily,

"Why did you came here? They can trap us, eventually,"

"Well, they wanted to save Sabrina or whatever,

Look, maybe they'd behave if you lift the cover,"

Humility looked at the aquarium and felt surprised,

"Is she a demon? A human? What is she? If you don't mind."

"She is like a mother to us,"

A children with red skin replied.

Humility, after feeling touched,

Quickly tried to lift the cover,

But it was too tight to lift,

And in another desperate attempt,

Broke the glass instead.

The water spilled and the woman awoke,

And after a few tries, her chains finally broke.

The water however, gave the monster's a hint of where they are,

And even though he saved someone, Gabriel scolded Humility for his reckless acts.

"I know you're a hero and all, but you're going to kill us,"

"I apologize, it's just...it's easier to break the glass,"

"And thanks to that, we're all gonna die,"

"For an angel, you sure aren't the encouraging type,"

"I'm just...gah! Sir Michael is going to kill me,

Just...why are you kids so silly?

If we sticked to the plan, we could have at least survive,

And now, we're trapped,"

The door then suddenly bursted,

As Gabriel quickly opened his barrier to protect them.

"Alright, just...make a hole or whatever passage,

I'll keep them busy, what's important is you make it,"

The barrier broke sooner than he anticipated, and Humility with no hesitation, charged at the first monster despite being wounded.

His bravery however, was not much appreciated,

As he was quickly blocked and thrown,

Up to the ceiling, where a monster awaits him.

Humility held his whip tight, but heard a fast movement going to his back,

And soon he felt something wet, to his torso tightly wrapped.

The monster, starving and drooling, tried to grab his body,

But the thick long hair that moved Humility,

made the monster's efforts, fail ultimately.

Humility looks down and sees the already recovering woman,

That, despite having the scent of demons,

Was ready to help them at all costs.

"Just attack them, and I'll do all your dodgings,"

Humility nodded, and with a happy smile, continued fighting.

The children then cheered for the woman,

Who made an ought, to protect them all she can.
