Chapter 206: BLOODY THROATS

Sellena kept carrying the child on her back,

As Asmodeus leads her forward.

They venture on a bridge made of bones and rocks,

Until the snake which shows the way, ultimately stops.

Sellena wonders what made the snake do it,

But did not further question things.

She looked at Asmodeus, who only smiles,

Assuring her, as he holds her hand.

The two stared at each other for a few moments,

Happy that they'll finally be free from torment.

And while they were aware that they had it fortunate than most,

It's still not easy living in somewhere you don't belong.

They eventually stopped as they heard the snake turn around,

And had their own suspicions when it perked up.

Than a friendly intent and a useful warning,

The snake did not say anything.

Instead,

It charged at Sellena in high speeds,

Only stopped by Asmo's binding chains.

But it eventually grew big,

Destroying Asmo's own chains and the bridge.

Asmo looked at Sellena with sorrowful eyes,

As he yelled at her to run.

While the snake did not waste no time,

As it tried to follow Sellena's path.

Asmodeus quickly dragged the snake with him,

Forcing it to tumble down a deep deep abyss,

Sellena did her best to hurry,

As the bridge is easily collapsing.

She was overwhelmed when the baby started crying,

And more so, when she realized she's lost almost everything.

Despite her own fears she ran and ran,

Even when her legs seemed like it can't.

She kept thinking of her goal, of her dreams,

Never stopping, not even a bit.

She kept thinking that, until she finally reached the other side,

She quickly knelt to the ground,

Barely processing what had just happened,

Will she ever be found?

She looks back at the collapsed bridge,

And wondered how Asmodeus is doing,

She forced herself to believe,

That with his strength, he's still breathing.

He has to be.

Just as when she thought it couldn't get any worse,

She heard another voice call from her left.

She doesn't even had much time to recover,

When the person quickly charged to her face.

She instinctively opened her barrier,

Making her have a closer look.

Her eyes quickly released tears from the realization,

That she's fighting her own dear brother.

"Why..? How? What happened to you?"

The barrier weakened, when her emotions swirled.

The Jacob before her only smirked,

Not a hint of her brother, she once knew.

She couldn't believe it,

How was this happening?

She tried to call out to him,

Despite half of her screaming it's useless.

"Our little Tim, where is he?

Our little baby, is he okay?"

She begged, and begged for a response,

Crying in frustration, as her strength wither and shuts.

She thought not thinking much about her brothers would help make her calmer,

Would help make her do better,

But no matter how much she tries to push it away,

She still have them, buried on the back of her head.

She felt useless, irresponsible, cowardly,

As she tried to talk to him, forgetting her responsibility.

The baby cried, but she had her selfishness take over for a moment,

Still not believing, that her dear brother had been manipulated.

Jacob quickly multiplied,

And overpowered Sellena's barrier,

Pushing her away,

As she almost stumbles over.

Sellena felt frightened,

As she quickly looked for a way out,

But their growing number,

Is always just around.

She kept pushing on,

Despite her will to live dying,

She kept searching for a light,

Even though she's less determined.

She recalls the moments things had been normal,

Just the three of them, enjoying their lives.

No zombies, no devils, no hell,

Just her, excited to go home every time night fell.

The smell of coffee and a messy-made meal,

Her brothers with their own efforts, genuinely prepared,

They'd greet her warmly, and show off their interests,

Despite every fight they may have,

They'd always make up in the end.

She felt her vision blurring,

As tears keep rolling.

She tried not to think too much about it,

But she was still distracted,

Her emotions winning.

Now, she wondered if their youngest brother is truly dead,

Or if Jacob still have hope to change.

She cries and screams, losing her bottled up cool,

Until she sees, a light ahead, faint but true.

She looks back and saw the duplicates following behind,

And she quickly ran, despite her legs trembling in fear,

She felt even more frightened when one duplicate jumped,

Touching her back, almost hurting the child.

She quickly casted a barrier and severs its hand,

As it screams in pain, identical to her sibling's voice,

She tried to ignore it, pushed on, with her last strand-

Of sanity and hope, as she continued to run.

She calls out, screaming for help,

Not even caring, if what awaits her is life or death,

She could feel blood, her throath giving up,

But she continued on, not believing it's enough.

The hole on the other side led to Angel Joseph's

team,

They were going to leave, until he swore he heard someone speak.

The team tried to convince him to move forward,

Irritated that he's wasting time.

Joseph told them to go on,

As he felt like someone really was calling out before.

The angels sighed and quickly left,

Carrying the victims to regroup and assest.

Joseph waited to hear the noise again,

And felt himself paled when he heard a child cry instead,

He looked at the small hole and quickly blasted it's right,

So to make sure, not to hit those who survived.

Sellena felt thankful for the baby's cries,

As she felt her throat, could no longer try.

She saw a tunnel, and an angel close by,

And she felt extra motivated, to live and escape the hive.

She reached her hand to the entrance,

Dreaming of her beloved freedom,

But she heard that Jacob was just close behind,

Threatening the child on her back.

She quickly put the baby on her front,

So to make sure that he'll be touched last.

The decision was deemed right,

As she soon felt a burning scratch.

She screams in pain, but never looks back,

As the angel waiting on the other side, ran,

The angel told her to go ahead,

And hands her his own feather,

As she tries to comprehend.

"It will glow when my sister is near,

And she is always near me,

If you see her, join her and leave,

Don't tell her about this, or she'll worry of me."

Sellena felt even more sad,

Knowing that the angel also had bonds.

She didn't have much words to reply,

But she warmy said "Thank you," before she rans by.

Joseph saw the resemblance of the villain and the woman,

And in a sad tone, told her before she's too far,

That killing him, is the only way it'd stop.

Sellena never looked back.

As she told him to take care of his soul.

Joseph agreed as he blasted each duplicate,

But, it was not as effective.

Not wanting to worry Sellena who is far ahead,

He looked at the ceiling and destroyed it instead.

The debris that fell blocked the escape route,

So he is sure that the villains would no longer follow.

Taking advantage of the fact that he have wings,

He made use of it and his skills, killing them with.

The original Jacob was not very pleased,

As he tried to grow more of him, until Joseph shot him swift.

The action had resulted to the original losing his left arm,

As he felt very shocked of the inflicted harm.

How was he so fast, and how did he detected it right away?

Despite the fact, that there's a couple dozens of them in place.

"I have the sharpest senses in my squad!"

The angel boasted as he pulled the demon up.

The angel then threw him to the ground,

Smiling, knowing that he could barely get up.

And because his weakness had been found out,

Jacob felt a bit unsure if he'd still stick around.

He knew that the angel was not as weak as he seems,

And despite his kind face, he was someone to fear.

"You are very kind, and your senses are sharp,

But from the story of my friend, you were kind of dumb.

She described you well, and I did not expect,

That an angel with that voice, could hold this strength.

Your smile is assuring, warm and true,

You told her she'll be safe, but what if I'd catch up on her too?"

Joseph tried to shoot more, but Jacob quickly multiplied,

The numbers kept growing and growing,

Until the angel felt overwhelmed.

And after they're done, him and the duplicates spoke at once,

"Soon, that smile will disappear on your face,

And you'll regret, having been stuck with me in this place."

Joseph was not sure if he was bluffing or not,

But he did not tremble nor move back,

He wanted to make sure to save Jacob's soul as promised,

To kill the parasite, that dwells on his body.

Jacob looked at him to see if he had the slightest fear,

But he saw nothing, not even the slightest hint.

He smirks when the angel decided to stay,

"Good...so I have time to make you pay."

He knew that it will not be easy if his opponent is truly determined,

But since he had some tricks left on his sleeve,

He could still fix this 'problem.'
