Chapter 243: IT'S ALWAYS YOU

The poor man could only look at the impaled Faegan, who slowly falls to the ground.

His onyx eyes, all the more couldn't help but water, wondering why his beloved guardian, wasn't given a chance to a proper redemption.

His chest felt like it was about to explode,

The person he loved so much,

was reduced to an unmoving corpse.

Michael saw what had happened,

And despite hating Satan for so long,

Understood that the demon, now wanted salvation.

Pity and sorrow was then painted in the angel's face,

Hands trembling, regretful that it was all too late.

Faegan's eyes were now lifeless,

Unable to feel, nor see their sadness.

He might have truly been lonely and burdened,

But throuhout the years, couldn't dare show it.

And with him proving he was a hidden ally all along,

The archangel's heart bled for the newly hero.

He felt regretful that he had treated the man so harshly before,

Without a clue that he'd end up saving one of his own.

Anger then replaced the melancholy in his heart,

And after a few second, realized who was responsible for all the acts.

Michael swiftly looked at Lucifer below him,

"You're going to pay!"

But it didn't concern him.

Lucifer actually laughed, when Michael at least expected him to be a bit sad.

After all, Satan was his...right-hand man.

And yet his fearsome yellow eyes never showed at least a tear,

He continued laughing, as he looks at the corpse facing him.

Michael held Lucifer's head up again.

"How dare you laugh, at your friend's death?"

Lucifer proudly smiled, which made him think he's insane,

But with the reaction he showed,

Lucifer decided speak again.

"I told him he'd die if he becomes disobedient.

And I was right, it was, what had happened.

Those...who oppose me, end up cold.

And soon, you'll die the same too."

"Is that all that matters, Lucifer?

That you're right? And they're losers?

You didn't...not once saw him as someone valuable?

Do you only see him as a disposable spawn, than a brother?"

Lucifer did not answered.

His smile left the moment Michael had those things mentioned.

But the angel wasn't entirely sure if it was the real reason.

If he was truly saddened, or disliking his sermons.

"Mourning for a dead friend changes nothing, does it?

In your eyes, I still am, a filthy demon.

Doing one right thing, won't make me less of a sinner.

So why show you that vulnerability?

I won't give you any satisfaction."

Michael's heart dropped at the statement,

While Lucifer, was quick to use that moment.

He quickly adjusted his body and kicked the angel in five-seconds time.

But when Lucifer stood up,

He felt as though, he was on fire.

It was when he turned, that he realized why.

Asmodeus was looking at him,

Filled with wrath,

That could surpass even Satan's.

"It's always you! It's always f*cking you!

You caused this whole mess!

You...you arranged all of this!!!

You ruined everyone's life!

Just for...just for your self-fulfillment!

You never cared about us,

You never value us!

You're only scared of losing us when we're helping you with favors,

But you're not really there for us, whenever there's danger!

And so...I'll...I'll...KILL YOU!"

Asmo's onyx eyes turned red again,

And his one pair of wings, grew to six.

His body became bigger, and his horns grew out once more,

And even when Angel Hanah did not want to admit,

It was undeniable, he had became the demon of revenge as before.

Murder, hatred, wrath, plagued his heart,

With 'killing Lucifer' the only thing on his mind.

His mouth opened wide, revealing sharp fangs,

And with full conviction, he yelled at Lucifer,

That he will be surely harmed.

Lucifer was shocked not because he was scared,

But rather shocked that Asmodeus was that stupid.

"You had truly been the most emotional out of all of us.

Which made you the weakest by far.

How come despite being Satan's son,

You're dumb, foolish, even till now, you have a mind of a child.

Listen, Asmodeus, sheer will alone cannot make you win."

"Stop talking, Lucifer. I don't want to hear your voice, ever again."

Lucifer had his eyes widen more,

Of the growing insolence, Asmodeus was showing off.

He then crumpled his fists and hope to command several arrows,

But before he could raise his hands,

He felt something touch on his shoulders.

Raphael and Michael held him down,

While Lucifer could only wonder how.

He had senses as strong as can be,

And yet, after remembering Selaphiel's warning,

He no longer think.

Of course.

Selaphiel was hindering him.

Angered and deeply frustrated of how pathetic of a move it was,

He opened his wings and caused the two archangels to fall back.

They then tried to recapture him back unto their arms,

But were all in awe, when the Demon Lord ended up with a stab.

Lucifer injured himself, yet put the damage on the hostage.

"I'll make sure you die first, so you better behave yourself,"

The demon could only threaten.

Before Lucifer could move another inch though,

Several chains from where he was standing, had emerged.

His eyes looked back at Asmodeus who had not once wavered,

Convinced that somehow, he could truly beat Lucifer.

The sight almost made him laugh,

If only, his throat wasn't filled with blood.

He moved his fingers to make a snap,

But felt disturbed, when he couldn't move them back.

"Lucifer, your evil works ends here.

Truly, your pride becomes your true weakness.

If only you knew how capable we are as well,

Perhaps, that shock wouldn't be on your face."

Selaphiel voiced inside his head,

Making Lucifer, in true fear, shake.

Death. Death. No, it was not written in his destiny.

And such fate are only for the weak.

The man yelled at Asmodeus to free him,

"Release me now! I am your King!"

"Playing King when you know you're a mere slave?

Who's the true childish one now, I wonder?"

Asmodeus mocked him as he controlled the chains to tighten,

Making Lucifer gasp for air.

Raphael then smiled at the steady position of the target,

And from the sight, then reached to his pocket.

Michael then understood what he was to do,

And so, dug quite a deep hole.

Raphael poured what seemed to be green liquid.

And Michael threw his spear in it.

The merging caused a slight explosion,

And soon, grew what appeared to be a monster.

A large plant with teeth and thousand eyes,

Looked at Lucifer, with one thing on its mind.

To kill what had truly made the world so sick,

To kill what Selaphiel thought was a man too far to quit.

It growled with such hunger, and yearning.

That Lucifer felt even more frustrated.

He knew that monster very well,

A divine being, that was used to keep rebels away from heaven.

The strange liquid, which now serves as its blood.

Came from the traces of the first heavenly light.

This celestial beast, that was known to only grow above,

Was somehow, and miraculously, on the mortal soil, alive.

Raphael was not as calm however,

For the beast can only live on this soil for less than an hour.

So he was thinking of using it when Lucifer is surely weakened,

And knowing that Selaphiel halted his movements,

He prayed that his timing would be perfect.

Lucifer on the other hand, thought of what advantage he may have.

And reminded himself that the divine beast could hardly be duplicated.

"No way they have more in that state.

They have always been close to extinction,

And I thought were overpowered by my men.

Yet if my guess was correct.

This must be the last one...

that remained."

Surely, it must be the case.

He hadn't seen one for years.

It must be why Raphael had hid it till this moment,

If he had more, he shouldn't be too hesitant to use it.

He smirked and tried to move his fingers,

Though it felt like stripping your flesh away from your bone.

He tried to move it, little by little,

As the monster growled and quickly zoomed over.

Lucifer yelled in pain as he finally took control,

And as he rose his hand,

He was already face to face with the monster.

Asmo did not calm on the presense of the new ally however,

And continued to resummon chains to injure Lucifer.

Such acts no matter how little,

Made Lucifer's movements quite difficult.

He had realized that though he could move his arms,

His arrow summoning had been nulled.

Such realization could only make him curse under his breath,

Knowing that he should fight them on other ways.

Selaphiel's strength may have aided him to be far faster than he was,

But the angel had caused more trouble than he mind.

He tried to cancel their merging but since they made a pact,

Selaphiel won't be released, and can stay as long as he wants.

"Oh, Lucifer. Burden, am I right?"

The voice could only tease on the back of his mind.

"I'll get you for that."

"I'd like to see you try."
