Chapter 249: FULL

*Flashback*

(First days of Beelzebub's alliance with Lucifer)

Location: Hell

Lucifer felt shocked to hear that Beelzebub had refused to eat the humans he worked so hard to capture alive,

And the thought that he had been denied had deeply wounded his pride.

He angrily follows his maids that had him notified of the news,

And was all but shocked to see, that Beelzebub surely wasn't touching his food.

"Why? Do you want it dead? Cooked? Just say so."

"No, I don't need them at all.

They have families, Lucifer."

"Hah, so you're still in that petty denial? Can't you accept your fall?

I knew you thirst for meat and blood,

So I say, just give in, 'cause why not?"

"But...Heaven's curse, Lucifer. The more I devour, the more it takes from me,

God had punished me."

"And? We're pretty much here anyways, so just eat what you like.

Those threats are but mere lies.

We are free than ever, no God, no duties.

And all we have to do, is fill up our bellies.

Not that hard, right? So don't overthink. These humans, they more than deserve this."

"But it still feels wrong,

They have feelings."

"And so does the deers, birds, and fish.

And humans hunt and eat them anyways.

It's normal for the weak to be captured and eaten.

Don't feel too guilty, because you're becoming such a burden.

I do not like weaklings in my presense.

So if you want to stay alive, might as well take it."

Beelzebub, now aware of Lucifer's presence,

Nodded in response, and let his greed take in.

But if only, he had not listened,

Perhaps he wouldn't be this trapped,

very deep within.

*Present*

He could see himself, walking towards the nearest living thing,

His own friend-whose smell seems too hard to resist.

Fresh blood, a scent he hoped would have vanished,

But it calls him, no, it drags him to follow it.

He tried to act up, to take control of his own body,

But it would no longer follow him.

He tried to claw his way out, anything!

But his hunger was consuming even him.

He cried, frustrated of his bitter life.

He had never once...felt satisfied.

Long gone were the days he enjoyed his peace of mind,

And right now, he could only wish to die.

He felt so bad to know he couldn't prevent a thing,

Or so as he thought, when he sensed someone near.

Suddenly, he noticed something moving from behind Belphegor,

And his lust for meat, suddenly soured.

He saw that a lizard-like monster had hid itself in the shadows,

As its skin blended well with its walls.

Its yellow eyes opened and looked at Belphegor,

And with the way its tongue sticks out,

He knew it would also want to devour.

Beelzebub growled and pushed Belphegor aside,

Making the demon puzzled of why.

Beelzebub threatened and growled at the beast,

Which quickly hid itself with its comouflaging skin.

The demon of glutonny hissed in annoyance,

And had his back opened, using his only alliance.

The remaining monsters on his back began extending their tongues,

Trying to locate the monster, that had kept its distance.

Beelzebub then slowly got his body back,

As his hunger faded with his enemy still intact.

Belphegor could only watch in awe as he saw his friend's huge body try to cover him,

But he tried his best not to speak as it may trigger him.

Suddenly, he felt something hold his legs.

Which quickly dragged him, and alerted his friend.

Beelzebub was quick to bite off the hands of the one responsible,

Which earned him a shriek from the offender.

The monster for a moment, revealed its true colors.

It was also huge, with its eyes gleaming yellow.

Suddenly, Beelzebub realized that its blood was poison,

And that him tasting it, had resulted to reduced vision.

He, even with him having difficulty in speech,

Had leaned close to his friend,

Telling him not to come near.

Beelzebub then charged full force at the monster,

Who, even with its efforts to remain invisible,

Was seen thanks to its blood's trails.

Beelzebub tried to put as much damage,

Biting off every piece of its skin.

And even with the monster, clawing and biting him,

All that's in his mind was to save someone dear.

He felt happy, contended.

Having his hunger fleet for the moment.

Having his stomach endure the adrenaline,

Of killing this one, persistent opponent.

The lizard began regrowing its lost limbs,

Making Beelzebub fear its existence.

He felt his confidence leaving when the lizard had escaped his teeth,

And his vision, had become even more unclear.

He followed its bloody scent,

Despite his own groginess,

And despite the very fact, that his own monsters were unwilling.

It was as if words were being imprinted in his skull,

That he was an idiot, for trying to bite a poisonous dart.

Beelzebub then saw drips of blood from the side,

And like the fast monster he is, had attacked.

The lizard, as cunning as it was, wasn't fast enough to dodge,

And soon, Beelzebub had him yet again, on his grasp.

Belphegor cried, now aware of the lizard's poison.

"Beelzebub! Be very careful!"

The voice had suddenly made him turn,

And even with the scary stains of blood on his face,

He smiled as sweetly as an angel.

His smile faded slowly as he put the lizard on his mouth,

Not risking Belphegor to be injured somehow.

Soon, Belphegor could only scream at how insolent and stupid his decision was,

Angry at Beelzebub, for deciding recklessly on his front.

"You are an idiot! You could really die!!!"

He tried to hard to look upset, but he began to cry.

He tried to crawl near Beelzebub, who by then was gagging blood,

But like what the demon said before,

"Don't come, listen this once."

Beelzebub felt afraid that Belphegor would get poisoned as well,

And tried his best to drive his friend away.

He licked every last drop of the lizard's blood,

Hoping that he wouldn't gag.

At last when he had finished,

He tried to process everything he did.

He tried waiting for the consequence,

Or even for his hunger to again, kick in.

Oddly, his hunger did not return,

And he felt amazing, he was not feeling the need for seconds!

He laughed giddily, excited like a child,

"Belphegor! I feel full! Alas! I'm fine!"

He thought he could dance,

Could sing, could fly,

But that was when he felt odd,

As he heard someone sing behind.

He saw no one however, just Belphegor looking back,

And hearing an odd voice comforting him,

Made him sure of what's to by.

Belphegor sadly opened his palms,

Stretching his arms at him, as if asking for a hug.

But before the demon of gluttony could comply,

His legs suddenly lost balance,

And he closed his eyes.

His body was shutting down rather swiftly,

But he felt no pain at the process of dying.

He only smiled, unaware now of how hard Belphegor screamed,

As by then, Beelzebub lost most senses.

"I feel...full...I feel lovely,

So my dear friend, there's no need..

to worry..."

Beelzebub continued smiling,

As he could not wait to finally rest.

However, the abrupt farewell,

Left Belphegor distressed.

He spiralled into madness, no one had seen before,

As he lost yet another old friend, he wouldn't trade for more.

His sharp claws dug the ground until he hurts his own flesh,

And by the looks of his once tamed eye, he seeked yet another revenge.

His back suddenly grew horns, and a sharp-black tail,

With his wings now stretching, to reveal eyes on them.

He tried to stand up, despite the crushing pain,

And before he could fall,

he managed to fly up in the air.

His adrenaline, he knew would not last long,

And so he needed to use them wisely,

If he wanted to kill who did them wrong.

His depressed expression was replaced by insanity,

And his loneliness, replaced by monstrosity.

He looked above him, and smiled wickedly,

"I'll be kinder tomorrow, but not 'til I skin my enemies."

Now full of hatred and wrath,

He flew out of the arena with one thing in mind.

To locate the bastard to made those living weapons,

And to make him painfully...learn his lesson.

He felt like a hypocrite, but he did not so much mind,

He was just disheartened of Azazel's betrayal,

that claimed his friend's life.

It felt hard to swallow that the brother he always looks after was nothing but a cold corpse,

He may not be hungry, but also wouldn't feel anything else.

He wanted to laugh, to cry, to scream.

To blame him, and everything.

But as he heard the trumpets of the angels, and the flames falling from the skies,

He knew that somehow,

The darkness would be purged and there would come light.

He was about to join them,

Until he remembered Zeharah and her brother,

may still be, trapped inside.

Now, what would be wise?
