A system without starters package

Slowly Phil's vision changed before it was just a small square on the upper left most corner of his vision. But now his vision had many things. Seeing all these changes his depression and frustration, quickly changed into excitement.

Realising something in the bag triggered these changes he quickly took everything out of his bag.

But only one carcass of the cockroach came out, other than some old worn out batteries, wires, phones and chargers.

Seeing the missing part of grasshoppers, and 1 full cockroach body, I was stunned. Then it donned on me that maybe the system absorbed these things. But what made me speechless, was that not even the bones were left. Thinking till here, I tried to touch the cockroach carcass, to devour it.

But nothing happened.

10 seconds passed, but still nothing.

1 minute passed and I knew that something was wrong in my approach, so I kept it back in my bag.

Now I was going to try to see if I could handle the system.

"System start"

10 sec passed, but nothing happened.

"Now what?", this was all that was left in my mind.

Realizing that I was wasting time, by thinking it would work, I went to concentrate on the bottom of the screen, thinking that it will work as the map. This was my last hope.

After concentrating at the bottom, Phil's vision at the bottom of the screen changed. With a mini-map at the top left corner, the bottom also becomes more readable now.

It had like six cards in a deck. Of that only two were glowing. While the last card had a + sign on it. The first one had a human soldier's outline with all his gadget's and accessories.

While the second one had an armoured humvee as an outline.

Seeing that the system was working at last I couldn't help but feel excited.

While suppressing my excitement I clicked on the soldier tab.

Tck.

Like an app opening the card changed.

The first card had a human outline. The second card had had an M16 rifle outline. The third card had an assortment of bullets, I could see 50-cal, 5.56mm bullets, and even some 9mm bullets. The fourth card had an ACOG scope. The fifth card had a detachable rifle magazine and the last card was a card with '+' sign, on clicking on this card a new card that was a little dark greyish in colour came with a modular test tube making its outline.

And not only that there was even an obvious back button.

Suppressing my curiosity, I clicked on the infantry card. All of a sudden my vision covered fully by a screen. It was like looking at my computers screen back on earth. On the screen, the 20 cards were arranged. They were arranged in 5 cards in a row.

After reading about them a little I understood, that the people who I could summon had different fighting powers. But what surprised me was their power was not as I thought.

Special mastery: Can use almost anything as a weapon to kill. They are trained to operate all weapons, from a rifle, pistol, to anti rifle gun to mortar to artillery. While they can drive and use from technical, Infantry Support Vehicle, Tank and even Helicopters.

The difference in skill between a cadet and an elite was beyond a simple comparison.

But at the topmost right corner of the screen, the rate difference between the two was also obvious for everyone to see.

All the cards had a very different type of price, from Cadet I to Veteran V, all increased by 1 from the previous one. But for entering the elite and each advancement in the elite is double of the previous one.

When I formed the list in my mind, I couldn't help but sweat. But now came a question What was SP, and how could I get them. Also, the main question was Don't I get any Starters pack. My luck was turning from shitty to shittier.
