As soon as Ardiel shook Eliana's hand, Eliana tried to stab his throat using a dagger she hid beneath her sleeves but Ardiel grabbed her wrist when it's almost a centimeter away from entering his throat.
"Do you want to kill me? Or are you betting your life here?" Ardiel said as he stared at Eliana with his cold and ruthless eyes.
Eliana shivered when she saw Ardiel's eyes looking at her like a small fry, but she then regained her composure and replied, "It was just a test. No need to take things seriously. Jeez."
"If you do it again, I will make sure to kill you," Ardiel said as she threw Eliana in the air, making Eliana somersault and land on the ground.
"Okay okay, sorry for that. Let's start the real duel now!" Eliana said as she got her hunting bow from her dimensional inventory. In this world, you can use a dimensional inventory if you reach a city. This shows that Eliana is really the No.1 hunter of Furieles.
After Eliana got her bow, she jumped 10 meters backwards and loaded her bow with an arrow, aiming at the standing Ardiel. She then let go of the bowstring as the arrow whistled on the air, targeting Ardiel's forehead. Ardiel caught the arrow with his bare hands and dashed towards Eliana who was still in the air.
When Eliana touched the ground, Ardiel was already in front of her, holding a hunting knife at her throat. Eliana thought that Ardiel was not fast enough to reach her but Ardiel exceeded her expectations, making her plans crumble. Ardiel then put back his knife at it's hidden place on his lower back.
"Duel's over?" Ardiel said with a hint of boredom in his voice.
'Fxck me. He's strong,' Eliana thought to herself as she walked towards her store and said, "You win. I'll be buying those materials for a 25% increase. You can come in now."
Ardiel nodded and followed Eliana inside her store while ignoring the flabbergasted Variela who has her mouth open outside the store.
Variela can't believe that this stranger fought and defeated her soon-to-be master with just a move! Variela then hurriedly went to their town's barracks to see her father.
After Eliana saw the makeshift bag, she then poured the bag to the floor to see all the materials. She then calculated how much the materials sell for. Being an elite archer, Eliana can estimate how much the value is of a monster material. It was an essential for being a hunter.
"All of these materials are 20 silvers plus the 25% percent of our bet, it would be 25 silvers. Do you want it all silvers or coppers?"
"I want it to be 20 silvers and 50 coppers, is it possible?"
"Of course, wait a minute," Eliana said as she went to back of the counter and came back with a small pouch.
"Here's you go," Eliana said as she threw the coin pouch towards Ardiel.
Ardiel caught the coin pouch and opened it. After making sure that Eliana didn't scam him and the amount of money is exactly like they discussed, Ardiel asked, "What skill did you use when you pulled your bow out of nowhere?"
"Ah, that? That's a dimensional inventory and you can learn it if you reach a city. Captain Iriel once helped me reached the city. You met Captain Iriel right?"
"Of course, why do you ask?"
"Did he invite you to join the town's army? If you get recommended by Captain Iriel to the city, it's your chance to go there. Every year, the city soldiers go here to check the town's defenses and the town's military. You already heard of the expedition right? If do a wonderful job, Captain Iriel will recommend you to the city soldiers and those soldiers will invite you to the city! "
" Oh really? That's good then, " Ardiel said without a hint of excitement or joy in his voice, confusing Eliana.
" What? That's your reply? What a boring guy you are. I thought that you want to go to a city! Argh, fine. It's your business. You can go now," Eliana said while dragging the makeshift bags full of materials.
Ardiel put the coin pouch inside his pocket and went outside the store. Ardiel then went straight to the blacksmith to search for a suitable weapon for him.
Ardiel then saw a building in the distance with an anvil as a sign. Ardiel was sure that this was the blacksmith's store so he headed straight towards it. Sounds of pounding was ringing in Ardiel's ears as he neared the building. Ardiel then opened the door of the blacksmith. As Ardiel opened the door, a bell rang.
Ardiel then went inside and the first thing he saw was rows of different type of weapons and armors hanging in the walls. There are also shelves of knives and other throwable weapons in the side. Ardiel then turned his head towards the counter and he saw no one. Ardiel then continued to observe the longswords hanging on the wall as he decide what to choose.
"Good day good sir, what can i do for you?" A muscular demon wearing a dirtied blacksmith's apron, pants and boots said. This demon was average looking and has two horns. The blacksmith owner's name was Fecuro.
"What long sword would you recommend to me? I'm an agile and strong demon that specializes in assassinations and parrying," Ardiel said as he continued to look on the longswords.
"Agile, assassinations and parrying. Hmm...," Fecuro contemplated for a moment before pulling a long sword out of his dimensional inventory, surprising Ardiel.
"This is called Beastslayer. A longsword for slaying beasts. It was made from the materials of different kinds of beasts. It took me three whole days to make this. This is one of the 3 D-rank weapons that I have forged. No one wants to buy it so I can sell it to you if you have money. It's only 15 silvers, deal? "Fecuro said while smiling, Fecuro was sure that this lad in front of him is poor just by observing at his equipment. But Ardiel's answer surprise Fecuro, almost making him drop Beastslayer to the ground.
" 15 silvers? Sure, here you go," Adrian said as he gave Fecuro his coin pouch with 15 silvers inside it.
Fecuro was crying inside while he gave Ardiel his precious weapon for a cheap price. He can't take back his words because it may ruin his reputation. His plan backfired on him!
Ardiel then opened the door and left Fecuro, who was kneeling on the ground looking reluctant to sell his creation.
Ardiel then observed his new sword. Beastslayer has a sheath made of an unknown beast's fur covering the black scabbard made of iron, making it easy to pull out the sword from the waist. The long sword was 3 feet 2 inches in length and much lighter than a regular longsword, making it like a katana but much more tougher and sharper.. The sword's handle was black in color and it's guard was that of a regular long sword. The width of the blade is 2.5 meters and has a carving of a name in demon tongue near the guard of the hilt. It was Beastslayer written in demon tongue.
After Ardiel finished checking his new long sword, he put it in his left waist and walked towards the clothing shop to buy a cape or a cloak.
As Ardiel saw a building in the distance with a sign that says, "Siari's Garments", he knew that it was the right place. He entered the store and a beautiful fare-skinned female demon greeted him.
"Good day, customer. What do you need?"
"I need a cape or cloak that can hide me in the dark. Do you also have some cloth that I can use to cover my mouth?" Ardiel asked the female demon.
"Wait a moment, customer. I'll ask my boss if we have the equipments that you need. Can you wait, dear customer?"
"Of course," Ardiel said as he turned his head on the clothes hanging on the walls. The female demon then went inside the back part of the store and then went back with a beautiful female demon with 1 horn wearing revealing and seductive clothes.
Ardiel then stared at the seductive demon for a moment and he felt something that makes him fall inlove for her.
Ardiel then pulled out Beastslayer and put it near the woman's throat so that he can slash it if something unexpected happened to him.
"What are you doing miss? Do I have a problem with you?" Ardiel threatened the female demon.
"I'm just playing with you. You have a strong will for a young demon. Good job, Ardiel," the female demon said as she stepped closer towards Ardiel, making her neck bleed as the blade of Beastslayer hits her skin.
"I am Siari, an elite succubus and the Owner of Siari's Garments. Nice meeting you, Ardiel," Siari said as she took out her hand for a handshake.
Ardiel put back Beastslayer inside it's sheath and shook Siari's silky smooth hands, making him take a step back in case Siari charms him again.
" Don't worry, Ardiel. I just played with you. I can charm within a second if I really use my true powers. Just go back to your business. A cloak that can help you hide right? Here," Siari said as the other female demon gave Ardiel a folded black cloak with a hood.
"We only have masks here, here you go. It's free because you withstood my charm," Siari said while giggling.
'Damn this bxtch! She's alluring!' Good thing I controlled myself, ' Ardiel thought as he took the cloak and the mask on the hands of the female demon.
" How much? "
" 2 silvers"
"That's pretty expensive for a cloak," Ardiel said while looking at Siari.
"That cloak can merge you in the darkness if you pull the hood on your head and don't move. It's like a disguise skill. It's pretty cheap for a cloak that has a skill like that right?"
Ardiel just nodded and pulled out 2 silvers from his coin pouch, decreasing his money to 3 silvers and 50 coppers.
Ardiel then left the store to avoid Siari. Siari was a cunning and dangerous woman thought Ardiel. Ardiel then put on the cloak and hid the blank white mask inside his leather armor. Ardiel then decided to go to the barracks to ask Captain Iriel about the expedition when Variela's voice suddenly interrupted his thoughts process.
"That's him father! He beat Master Eliana in one move!"
