Chapter 10: New Strength and New Enemy

It was still morning when Ardiel went outside the inn and headed straight towards the gate of the town. Ardiel was only wearing his casual shirt, ordinary pants and boots. Ardiel has also Beastslayer hanging on his left waist. Ardiel then continued on his way towards the town's gate that overlooked the Ambrysie Desert.

As Ardiel arrived at the front of the gate, the new guards that didn't know Ardiel from before prevented him from going outside as it was dangerous. The guards and Ardiel was arguing and Ardiel almost took out Beastslayer from its sheath when the guards that remembered Ardiel from before arrived there and immediately recognized Ardiel's face. They opened the gate and said no more words as Ardiel walked slowly like his just traversing his backyard, never caring about the unseen dangers that lurks on the Ambrysie Desert.

Ardiel then arrived at a location where the town is cannot be seen from his perspective.

'This was a good place to test my newfound powers,' Ardiel thought as he balled his hands into a fist and struck the ground. By only using his bare fist, he was able to make the ground crack as wide as 3 meters around him.

'That's a lot of damage,' Ardiel thought while grinning.

He then tried to imbued some lightning element on his fist but he still can't do it. He was not accustomed on using mana so Ardiel still can't make the mana flow inside his body.

Ardiel needs some milk! (knowledge) to use his lightning powers. That made Ardiel annoyed as reading books was his greatest enemy. But if reading books can help him be stronger, he would gladly do so without complains.

Ardiel then took out Beastslayer and tried to imbue his lightning powers but it was also not effective. Ardiel then threw Beastslayer in the air and then he closed his eyes as he waited for Beastslayer to fall down. When Beastslayer' blade was now in front of Ardiel, Ardiel reacted with extraordinary reflexes as he pulled out the sheath from his waist and used it to catch Beastslayer.

'Perfect! Good reaction speed and fast hands, the lightning demon heart really made me much stronger than before ,' Ardiel thought inwardly while he walked towards the direction of the Furieles Town. Ardiel didn't run because he was afraid that he might not control his speed, and Ardiel hates explaining so he just walked to avoid complicated problems.

Ardiel finished his test and he was satisfied that he was now stronger and faster compared to before. Just thinking about it made Ardiel smile like a child that bought his favorite toy. Ardiel was now back to the town unscathed, making the guards relax their heartbeats because Ardiel dying will gonna be a huge loss for their town. They don't want that to happen even if they're scared of Ardiel.

Ardiel then went to the town's barracks to check how much did the preparation progressed for the upcoming expedition.

A luxurious medieval house was standing near the town hall. The luxurious house was surrounded by a small rock wall standing at 5 meters. The front gate was being guarded by two guards using a spear as their weapon.

A soldier with with a bow on his back and a longsword hanging at his left waist was walking towards the house. The guards guarding gate immediately spotted the soldier walking towards them and they immediately askes, "What business do you have here?"

The soldier then arrogantly said, "What business? This is my father's house you bastards!"

The guards was shocked at the soldier's words and they immediately bowed and apologized, "Sorry for intruding you young lord, you may now enter the Furieles Estate."

The young lord grinned while looking down at the soldier's bowing position. He then arrogantly walked inside the estate, not greeting back the soldiers guarding their gate. The soldiers have no choice but to endure as their young lord's father was the mayor of their town.

The young lord then arrived at a 2-story medieval house that has another two guards stationed at the door. The guards then noticed the young lord and they bowed and immediately opened the door.

The young lord was satisfied at the guards' behavior as he entered the 2-story house. The young lord then walked the hallways of the house and arrived at a door with a sign hanging on the front that says, "Mayor's Quarters." The young lord then knocked at the door and waited for a response.

A middle-aged man's voice then said, "Come in."

"Father," the young lord greeted the mayor as he bowed.

"What does my son want again?" Mayor Feruel asked.

"I have a favor to ask father. Did you hear what happened four days ago at the gate father?" Young lord Terun asked while still bowing.

"Of course, a hunter catched your arrow barehanded. Did you slack at your training? What have you been doing these past few years!? The city soldiers would come here when the Jelsinco Forest Expedition is finished! Instead of slacking off and playing around girls, why don't you train yourself instead!? It's your only chance to become a proper soldier of the demonkind. You must have higher and better results than him during the upcoming expedition. What do I give you to achieve your goals?" Feruel asked his son with a hint of anger and disappointment in his voice.

Terun gritted his teeth and said," Lend me Suro's services and I will surely succeed in the expedition father. "

" You want my strongest personal bodyguard? If you still fail with Suro's help, I might force you to study how to become a mayor. Do your job properly so that you can achieve what you want. Give this coin to Suro and he will follow you. He resides in the Furieles Inn. You may go out now," Feruel said he went back to reading and checking the documents on top of his desk.

Terun was in bowing position this whole time as he was afraid to look at his father's eyes. Terun then stood upright and left the room.

When Terun is outside the room, he was now back at his lofty and arrogant self. He then observed the platinum coin on top of his hand.

"Uncle Suro's services is pretty expensive. As expected of an expert swordsman," Terun said while walking towards the door, smiles and excitement can be seen on his face.

Terun then immediately went to Furieles Inn. As he opened the door, demons talking and chattering was the first thing he heard. He then went to the counter and asked the female demon behind it, "Where is Suro's room? Guide me to him."

The female demon knew that the arrogant soldier in front of her was the young lord so she didn't complain and immediately guided Terun to the 2nd floor. As they walked upstairs, Terun groped the female demons butt and smiled. The female demon just gritted her teeth and endured the harassment as she was afraid of dying.

Terun groped and groped the female demon's butt until they arrived at room 201 where Suro was resting

Terun stopped groping the female demon's butt, making the female demon relieved but a loud slapping sound rang out the hallways of the 2nd story. Terun laughed and said, "What a firm and round butt you have. Come to my house when you are done with your work."

The female demon just agreed with Terun's request as if she denied it, her body would never seen again. The female demon then bowed towards Terun and immediately went downstairs to go back at her work.

After making sure that the female demon was nowhere his sight, Terun knocked on the door of room 201.

A handsome middle-aged demon opened the door and asked, "What's your business here?"

Terun didn't say any words and just gave the middle-aged demon the platinum coin. The middle-aged demon then observed the coin for a moment and said, "You have now bought my services. What can I do for you young lord?"

Terun observed the middle-aged demon talking. He was handsome, tall, has two horns and has a muscular body. His hair was tied to a ponytail and his mouth was covered by a half broke mask.

" We will kill someone. Just follow what I say for a day and your service to me will end. Got that? I will go now. I have some demons to bang," Terun said while grinning like a pervert as he went downstairs.

Suro then closed the door and prepared himself for another job that he will do.
