Chapter 3

The thunderous sounds of paws pounding into the ground enter my ears making my heart feel whole. Who would have thought this would be my life. The wind flowing through my fur is the best feeling in the world. But something the man said to me keeps replaying in my mind. What did he mean my hit is rare?

"Mom, what color is my fur? I know my paws and tail is white. But the man said I'm rare what does he mean?"

"You are completely white like snow sweetheart. It is the rarest of all colors amongst wolves my sweet girl."

I stop in my tracks. "Why, why is it rare mom."

A brown wolf beside me stops and looks at me and sits. Mom? Maybe. "Because it is. It is said that a white wolf holds secret powers that can either save us or destroy us. You are a blessing from the mood goddess Kaylee. Remember that my girl. Now run embrace your destiny." The wolf barks and runs in front of me leaving a dust trail for me to follow. That answers that question that was definitely my mom.

I begin to run, feeling free and relieved.

"Hello Kaylee. I am Nala. I am your other half. Your wolf. I have watched you from the back of your mind since you were young and now we finally meet."

"Oh, hi Nala. I didn't know we literally had a second half of ourselves. This is so weird"

She chuckles in my head, " yes it can be. Since you didn't grow up the way most do I'd say this is overwhelming. But I am here to help you. I can answer most questions you may have but it'll have to wait. I will tell you this. Our mate is here but you can't fully since him till you shift back to your human form to complete our bond. Then you will be able to fully sense him."

"Do you think he will love us?" I ask Nala.

"Of course he will. He can already fully sense us, but his wolf has told him to give us space so we don't get overwhelmed."

"How do you know this Nala?"

"Because I can fully sense and talk with his wolf."

"Oh that's cool, I think."

"It is my child. Do you mind if I take control and enjoy this run?"

"Yes you may Nala. After all you deserve this as well as I do."

"Thank you Kaylee." And with that I felt myself slipping to the back of my mind as Nala howled with joy and began running fast than I thought possible. This night is completely amazing.

I watched trees and of wolves go by as Nala run past them as if they were sitting still. Wolves howling filled the air once again as she ran. The fact that I share a body with my wolf is so different to me but at the same time I don't mind it.

I see a lake coming up in front of us as Nala slows down and comes to a stop lapping up some water into our mouth and letting it slide down to our belly quenching our thirst. She turns and walks to the brown wolf that I believe is my mom and sits with her.

"Kaylee, your mother is expecting a baby. I can smell it. Does she know?" Nala's voiced echoed through my mind.

"I don't know, she hasn't said anything to me. Maybe she doesn't know or hasn't told anyone yet."

"That is possible. This is one of our many powers. We can sense a pup in their mother's wombs before anyone else can."

"That's pretty cool Nala."

"Yes it is Kaylee. I'm going to give you back control so you can tell your mom. I believe she would love to hear the news from you." Just as Nala spoke those words I felt myself taking the front row seat in my mind again.

"Hey mom, I need to tell you something."

"What's wrong Kaylee?"

"I met my wolf. Her name is Nala. She is special mom."

Mom chuckles, " yes she is my sweet girl and that means you're special."

"She told me something about you."

"What did she tell you princess?"

I lick her face and nuzzle her belly and say, "You're pregnant mama."

Her gasp sounds through my head. With a happy howl sounding the air causing a large brown and black wolf to come running and stopping in front of us. "What's going on ladies" dad asks through our mind-link.

"Kaylee tell your dad what you told me." Mom says with a smile evident in her voice.

"Are you sure you don't want to mom?"

"I'm sure Kaylee go ahead sweetie."

"Well dad, sit down. My wolf told me you and mom are expecting a pup."

Dad jumps in his spot howling at the sky in excitement. "This is the best day of my life. I can't believe it. We've been trying for 10 years and it's finally happening!" He shout excitedly causing me to paw at my ears.

"I'm going to be a dad! I'm going to be a dad again!" He shouts through mind-link.

"Honey calm down. You didn't have to shout it to the whole pack" mom chuckles.

"You can do that?"

"Yes sweetie. Now let's head back it's late and you need rest." And with that we all started heading back to where I first shifted.

I kept wondering where the grey wolf went. I hadn't seen him since we began our run. It made me feel slightly lonely.

"Don't worry about it now Kaylee you'll soon understand." Nala spoke. We headed to the circle and sat inside with all eyes on us. "Now Kaylee picture your human form and nothing else." Nala spoke once again. So I did what she said and closed pictured my human self. When I opened my eyes I saw my hand. I didn't feel any pain this time but why.

"Because I'm here with you now and I can help take away the pain." Nala stated. And with that I lost consciousness.

"When do you think she will wake up doctor?"

"Rick she is strong but shifting for the first time is overwhelming for everyone. She needs rest she will wake when she is ready." I hear some sigh. "Where is the boy?"

"He is outside pacing. He is worried about her."

I blink but get blinded by light and groan quickly shutting my eyes.

"Rick she's awake!" I hear mom yell while running. Then I hear a click. "Kaylee you can open your eyes now I cut the light out."

"Thirsty" was all I could say.

"Here my sweet girl" mom said as I felt a straw brush against my lips. I sucked the straw eagerly savoring the ice cold water rushing down my throat. "There there my sweet girl."

"What happened mom?" I ask while opening my eyes and sitting up in bed.

"Your body was tired from all the excitement and you fell asleep." She said while brushing my hair from my face.

"How long?"

"3 days sweetie. You have been sleeping for three day. The doctor said it is normal. That you just needed rest."

Dad came into the room smiling at the two of us. "There is my princess. It's nice to finally see those beautiful blue eyes."

"Hi dad. It's good to see you too."

He comes over and kisses my mom on the lips. Ewww. And kisses my cheek.

"Can we go home now?"

"Yes we can sweetie."

I jumped up nearly falling to notice I'm in a stupid hospital gown. Great.

"Here sweetie I had dad run home and get you some clothes." Mom says as she hands me clothes.

"Thanks" I say as they both walk out saying that they love me. I quickly change into my low cut black shirt and light denim blue jeans and slip on my sandals. This will do. The shirt definitely complements my large perky D size boobs.

"We do have a nice body" I hear Nala laugh.

"That we do Nala that we do." I say to her. I head to the door to find that mom and dad are both waiting for me and we walk to the door to leave. Dad opens the door and I see the sun peaking through the sky showing its morning. The birds singing brings a smile to my face. Oh how I love nature.

A smell catches my nose making my mouth water. It reminds me of nature, it's pleasing.

"Mate" Nala's voice echos through my mind. I walk looking for the smell and see the same guy from last night back in forth in front of the pack house. He stops and looks my way. We both stare at each other neither one of us breaking eye contact.

"Mate" we both say and he starts running to me and I to him. He is just as handsome as I remember we both stop and look at each other. His blue eyes twinkling with happiness. He reaches up and touches my face shooting tingles throughout my entire body causing me to gasp. He smiles showing his white beautiful straight teeth.

"Hello Kaylee it's nice to finally meet you. I have been searching for you pretty much my whole life. My name is Matthew. But you can call me Matt or whatever you wish."

I smile at him unsure of what to say. He leans in and kisses my lips shooting the tingles through my whole body while he pulls me closer to him. He runs his tongue against my lips asking for entrance to my mouth which I allow. I kiss him back earning a growl. I wrap my arms around his neck while he holds my waist. Loosing my self into my very first kiss he lifts me up and I wrap my legs around his waist earning a cough from behind us. I quickly pull my head away realizing I just had a make out session in front of my parents. Causing everyone to laugh.

"Why don't the two of you spend some time together. We have a doctors appointment to go to anyways." Mom says while laughing.

"Congratulations by the way" Matt says while still looking at me which causes me to blush. I quickly climb off of him and look at my parents.

"Okay, um let me know how it goes." I tell them while pulling Matt with me so I could hug them goodbye.

"We will princess, now go enjoy your mate and get to know him and vice versa." Dad say smiling ear to ear. I nod and walk with Matt and they head back the way we just came.

"Nala. You knew didn't you? That he is our mate."

"I did, but I wanted you to figure it out for yourself. I didn't want to spoil it for you." She replied. I looked at Matt to find he was looking at me smiling. I smiled back and blushed.

"I planned a picnic. Would you like to go with me?" He asked smiling. I think he already knows my answer but I nod a ways.

We start walking and he was telling me about himself. He told me that he is Alpha Brandon and Luna Selene's son making him the next Alpha. He's 18 and has already graduated high school and apparently he is smart. Like me. I told him about myself and he listened to everything I had to say. We entered the area we were last night. The lake and there I saw a picnic basket and blanket waiting for us. We sat down and kept talking while he unpacked the basket and fixed me a plate and gave me a Dr. pepper and himself a Mountain Dew. It's like he already knew what I like.

"So what else would like to know beautiful?"

I look at him and blush. "I feel like I already know everything I say smiling. He smiled back and licked his lips. He leaned over and kissed me. Oh how I love how he makes me feel. I don't ever want this to stop.

"Me either" he say. I look at him confused causing him to laugh. " you said it out loud gorgeous."
