Queen of Currumpaw

Love, the sweetest of all emotions, and the one which hurts the most when it is gone.

Love can even be felt by animals.

I would argue that animals can feel a purer form of love.

Which is why they revert back to beasts when someone kills their love.

This story is about the King and Queen of Currumpaw, Lobo and Blanca.

This story is a bit different from how Ernest Thompson Seton told it. So let us see if you can spot the difference.

Lobo and Blanca were both the monarchs of Currumpaw. Their rule was loved and uncontested.

Till the day, when a bounty was placed on Lobo's head.

The wolf was cunning, but in the end, Ernest Thompson managed to capture his prey - which is where our story differs from the original.

For it was Lobo who was captured by the hunter, and then killed.

Blanca was the one with grief in her heart, as her love was replaced with hate.

Blanca would have died from a broken heart, but that was when the Good Doctor had a remedy.

Nork gave Blanca the power to take revenge. In many ways, the white wolf queen became like Fenrir.

Which is why, Meili went after the beast.

With a thundering boom, Meili landed within the village.

Meili had seen and been in countless bloody battles, but the sight before him - left him speechless.

There was blood on the ground, on the houses, and even the wells were filled with blood.

This was not a slaughter, thought the god of thunder, this was a massacre.

Meili could now hear the demonic growling.

He could see glimpses of Blanca from behind the houses.

As Blanca walked among the blood, Meili could see that her white fur had a shade of crimson.

Fenrir-like-Blanca now stood before the god of thunder and lightning.

Meili looked into the eyes of the poor tormented creature.

He saw no sense, no reasoning, only hate and death.

" You damn humans killed my husband! " howled Blanca.

Meili understood the beast's lament, but this massacre could not go unpunished.

" I am no human, " said the god of thunder and lightning, as lightning crackled in his eyes.

The fierce battle began, between the god and the beast.

The battle was incredible. Blanca proved that she could hold her own against someone like Meili.

Thunder echoed, as Blanca howled.

Blanca was struck by lightning several times, but each time, her hate would force her to rise.

" You are in pain, '' said Meili, solemnly, as he was within the sky.

Blanca looked up at Meili with fire in her eyes - her anger had finally taken on a physical form.

Meili decided to put the poor creature out of its misery.

Blanca looked on, as Meili had summoned forth a Ball Lightning.

" He looks just like Escanor… " uttered Blanca in disbelief.

It is true, but the only difference was; instead of a sun, Meili was holding the Ball Lightning. which was now thrown onto the white wolf queen.

To Meili's infinite surprise, Blanca was still alive.

" That attack would have killed Fenrir himself… " said Meili, amazed.

Blanca's hatred was the only thing keeping her alive.

" Lobo… " uttered Blanca, as she passed out. Her love, forever gone.
