One hour ago, Wang Lei awoke, and just like the last time, he could not stop himself from roaring with all his power. How would he have known that this would happen? For him to shatter the Sky… that was something unbelievable to him if he was tould it before falling asleep.

Lei was scared, and so were his children and wife. His youngest Son had seen the Void and continued to cry even now. It was like hell had descended, seeing the Stars and the Sun fighting against the seemingly infinite Void and the red substance leaking out of it. Lei felt like he would die the moment it touched him, ending his bright and happy life within an instant. He would never be able to say his family goodbye, never see his children grow up and build families of their own.

It was the first time he felt truly scared, the first time he had true angst.

He was hugging all four, to calm them down. Yet also to make sure they were still there, to support him.

But when he then thought of what would happen to his family if he died, a burning resolve was built within him. Slowly a slight golden light began illuminating the Capital's Palace, and comfortable warmth spread all across it. He wanted to see his family grow up! He wanted to let them life a happy life! And if he had to fight the Void, and if he had to defy the Heavens! He would do it!

By now the golden light that was at first like a little candle giving hope within the dark of night, had grown, and become a raging Inferno, an unstoppable force that both spoke of destruction and creation, it was as calm as the Earth and as chaotic as a Storm.

The Golden light shone brighter and spread outside the palace, a conformable warmth followed. It became the candle of hope that led the lost wanders to the save inn at night, the lighthouse guiding the Ships through the chaotic Ocean while crying Storms tried their everything to destroy them.

The millions upon millions of mortals and cultivators that feared the end was near regained their hope upon seeing the golden light that fought of the darkness that clouded their minds.

It made them numb of the Scarry Aura from beyond, and once they saw the Sky regenerating, the darkness of their minds vanished. Slowly after, the day that became night again lit up and was filled by the shining Sun.

The Voids of terror had vanished, and the Sky returned giving those bellow it the Illusion of a small world. But they would remember, for this was something unforgettable!

The Green Dynasty's Ruler slowly walked within the Capital's Palace. He was thinking about the recent events. He neared the Room Wang Lei and his family were inside. Once he neared the Door his eyes saw what happened inside, the Ruler already knew it before do to his Domain but seeing something with one's eyes was always different to just sensing it.

Wang Lei was still hugging his family, and still the golden light covered them all. His youngest grandson that cried before, had fallen asleep within his parent's arms without any worry. Lei's Daughter, his grandchild, too was halve asleep and the older grandson hugged his parents, like they did him.

The Ruler stopped. Originally, he wanted to talk to him about what just happened and why it did, but that could wait. They needed this moment; he would not disturb them.

The light Lei emitted caught the Rulers interest shortly after. 'Such a pure light, purer than any light I have ever seen before and could create.' He then remembered one of the Scrolls his Teacher gave him before her Soul dispersed. It was about Dragons and he only skimmed over it. Since then, it had sat within his Spatial Ring collecting Dust.

"On the Study of Dragons" was its title, and it was given to his Teacher by her Teacher, who gained it at an Auction for an unimaginable price! This Scroll was old, way older than the current Era, maybe even the Era before it! It was from the time True Dragons roamed the Earth and were not a thing of the Legends and Myths like now! There were also some characters he assumed to be the Authors Name and Title; however, they are written in a long forgotten Language and Script.

The Ruler read the whole Scroll and tried to find every little detail about pure light radiating away from a dragon. He found this paragraph:

"…A Dragon's most potent way to grow in power, is not to consume Souls even though it too is fast, no, it is to follow their Desire. A Dragon's Desire is something the Dragon is willing to do everything to get, even if it means for the Dragon to challenge invincible foes, defy the Heavens or sacrificing their Soul! A Dragon's Desire can be birthed at any moment, but most times it happens during their maturation, in some cases certain events can also lead to a birth of one. The most common Desire is to gather wealth, be it Spirit Stones, Gold or even such simple things as Poems. During the Desire's Birth the Dragon will be surrounded by golden Light so pure only an Emperor can make it. This golden Light also has an interesting side effect, whatever being it graces has their Root refined even if it is a mortal..."

'Hh… A Dragon's Desire… what could his be?' the Ruler Stared of into the Distance, beyond the Sky and into the Void beyond. Even though it looked like everything was back to normal his Domain still was fighting against the Void's Essence like it always did since the Dynasty's Sky was first made by him all those years ago.

I see this as one of the best chapters I have ever made…

…by that I mean mostly the part about Wang Lei. Its… (…I don't have words to describe it…) good? Great?

Its… Character development?

Anyways, this and the last chapys were not only for that made, they also serve as a foundation for some end of the Story content! (at least after the current plan, but that can change, it did after all so thrice till now!)

So many flags, so many paths! Let's see if I can surprise you with the one I take! :D

Ps.: Does "A Dragon's Desire" make sense? It's inspired from the saying that Dragons hoard wealth, and now there is a logical Reason for it, other than Greed and such. They do it cause it's their Desire to have wealth and it also strengthens them.
