But she had to leave that office immediately, otherwise Arden could come in and see her with all those papers in her hand.


With her eyes full of tears, Violet grabbed what she thought it would be useful and put the boxes and files back on the cabinet.


She locked it and put the key behind the painting again and left the office, without being able to think about what to do next.


She couldn’t stay in the palace anymore. She couldn’t even imagine how she would face Arden after that discovery.


Her heart was full of sadness but also anger. All the years she had spent under Arden’s wings, all the time she had been grateful for him adopting her, now it was just trash.
