Arabella went back to her room, bringing Lavinia with her.
“This place is still crawling with monsters,” Arabella said. “It has only been a few days. I doubt any of them have even noticed a change. You should stay here for now. No one will come in here. I’m going to talk to him one more time. Just to make sure.”
She watched Lavinia take a seat on the bed, slowly untying her hair.
“Arabella, everything will be fine. know I can do this. I know I can save him.”
“I know,” Arabella wrung her hands. “I know. I just worry about both of you.”
“Go. Talk to him. I’ll be here.”
“When he comes in here I’ll be right outside. In case anything happens.”
“Nothing will happen.”
