I won't be the same

She quickly got up from him.

"Sorry, I just lost my balance." she apologized feeling embarrassed.

"Oh, so it was like that. You should be careful then." said Li Wei indifferently. And then just continued with his meal.

Actually it was not that he was a heartless person, but he had seen too many such incidences. Girls had used many tricks to gain his attention. Initially he thought it was due to adoration for him and enjoyed it. But with time he got irritated with all these tricks.

On witnessing this scene the people in the crowd started whispering.

"She is so shameless."

"Yes, she just fall on our Li Wei purposely and now she's acting innocent."

"Tsk..tsk..such cheap trick."

"May be it really was an accident"

"Oh please why doesn't this accident happen with us?"

"Ya, if she fell accidentally , how did she end up on Li Wei."

"It could be a coincidence."

"It's too much of a coincidence."

"It was not a coincidence but a planned move."

"If that's the case, then I must say she have got guts"

"What guts? She is just shameless."

Whenever there were positive comments they were rebutted endlessly with ridicule. So people who were speaking in favour of Wei Wei gave up on arguing any further, as it only resulted in more insult thrown her way.

"What does she think, that she can get our Li Wei's attention using such tricks?"

"She think she is worthy of our male god."

"Some people just come to our university just to hook rich guys."

"Stop it. It was clearly an accident. How can you say such nasty things about her?" asked Yu Lian angrily.

"Who are you?"

"And what have that got to do with you?"

There comments were loud enough for everyone to hear clearly, including Wei Wei. Their comments were getting worse.

Wei Wei walked away from there silently. Her face was emotionless. Without a single sign of weakness or hurt. She don't want to explain anything to these people.

Outside

After she walked out of the canteen Wei Wei went to the garden near the canteen.

She sat down on a bench. She touched her cheeks only to realise that they are already covered with tears.

[I am crying. Why? Why am I crying? I am not in the wrong so why should I cry? No, I need to be strong. I can't behave like my past self. ] Wei Wei was lost in her thoughts.

"Wei Wei, are you alright."

Her thoughts were interrupted by a voice from behind her. Yu Lian and Lin Yao walked over and sat beside her. She quickly wiped her tears and gave a small smile.

"Yes, I am all right." replied Wei Wei.

"How can that be, you are crying." said Lin Yao.

"Those disgusting people, how can they talk about you like that. It was clear that it was not your fault." said Yu Lian angrily.

"Wei Wei, why didn't you say anything there? You just let them bad-mouth you." said Lin Yao

" Would it had made a difference if I had clarified myself? Do you think they would believe me? They all saw that it was an accident but do you think they wanted to believe that I fall on him accidentally." Wei Wei asked back.

"...."

"....."

"But we believe you. And we are with you." they both declared.

"Thank you for supporting me." said Wei Wei emotionally.

They sat there for sometime to calm their minds. Yu Lian cracked some silly jokes to distract Wei Wei.

When Wei Wei reached her room there was no one, as her room mates have not returned yet. Wei Wei changed her clothes and again opened her diary.

[I was so happy and excited today. Thinking that its a new beginning. But nothing has changed... nothing.] She sighed

[And I thought such comments didn't affect me anymore. That after all the things that I faced in the past I have become oblivious to public opinion. Why..why am I still affected by what people think about me?]

[I am worried about their opinion. Opinion of people who just like to judge people based on their presumptions. Who see things that way they want.]

[No one wants to know the truth. They just want to gossip. To malign other people. Pass sarcastic comments. People who enjoy bullying the weak. It had been like this in the past and its still the same...]

[But I won't be the same weak Wei Wei. I definitely will not.]
