The Prophecy That Was Never Meant To Be/ The Son Who Should Have Never Been Born

An oracle once said; that the titan Metis would have a son, a son of Zeus.

This son would overthrow his father, so in fear, Zeus took a page out from his own father's book, and ate Metis, and that was how Athena was born.

But in this story.

Before Zeus ate Metis, the titaness was able to give birth to a son.

This is his story.

Hera found the baby.

The loving and kind goddess just looked at the defenseless little child.

Hera vowed to protect the boy she named; Palladis.

Hera knew that Palladis would not be safe at Olympus, nor in the human world, her husband's eye was ever watching.

But the goddess knew of one place, where her husband's eye could not even reach, the kingdom of the unseen one; Aidoneus.

Hera also asked the titan Pallas to inhabit Palladis.

For you see.

Palladis is said to be even greater and even more powerful than his father Zeus.

So Hera needed someone to keep Palladis' mighty powers in check, till he learned how to control them, and that is how the original god of war; Pallas now lived within Palladis.

Aidoneus and his Queen; Kore, were happy to watch over Palladis.

The King and Queen of the underworld already had five children, so they saw no problem raising one more.

Hera would come and visit Palladis as much as she could, which was easy, considering that Zeus was constantly out searching for another hole…

Palladis grew up to see Hera as his own mother, and Hera in turn saw Palladis as her own son.

Years went by, as Palladis grew mighty and strong, but everyone knew that it was only a matter of time before Zeus found out.

While growing up.

Palladis became good friends with Mesperyian; the daughter of Aidoneus, and Triton; the son of Poseidon.

One day.

Palladis, Triton and Mesperyian were all three in the underworld, playing with Cerberus and Orthrus the enormous guard-dogs.

" Hey guys… " said Mesperyian.

" What? " said Triton.

" We should go on an adventure, like Heracles! " said Mesperyian with a smile.

" Like Jason and The Argonauts? " said Triton with a smile.

" Or like Cadmus or Bellerophon? " said Palladis with a grin.

" Okay! You clearly get the point… " said Mesperyian with a; I can't believe these two smile.

" Perseus and Theseus " said Triton.

Mesperyian now used her blessing of bloodline to call upon the powers of Helios to blast Triton with the heat of the sun.

" You know, it is pretty unfair that you have such a OP blessing/power… " said Triton, as he was trying not to turn into steam.

Mesperyian now looked towards Palladis, she noticed that Palladis was lost in thought.

" What are you thinking about? " asked she.

Palladis meditated for a moment.

" Hey Triton? " said Palladis.

" Yes? "

" You have a daughter, right? "

" Yes "

" What is her name? "

" Pallas "

" Yes? " said Pallas the titan from inside Palladis.

" No, his daughter, " said Palladis.

" His daughter? " said Pallas, confused.

" Pallas " said Triton.

" Yes? What is it? " said the titan.

" For god's sake… Triton has a daughter, whose name is also Pallas, you share the same name, Pallas " said Mesperyian.

" What is it? " said Pallas, confused.

Mesperyian could now be seen rubbing her forehead.

" I think that Athena is about to jump out from my head… " said Mesperyian.

" Pallas Athena? " said Palladis with a smile.

" Yes? " said Pallas the titan.

Mesperyian now used Janus' powers to teleport to Pluto, the planet.

Where she could be heard yelling.

(Thank god that sound can't travel in space)

Mesperyian now teleported back.

" Did you get it out of your system? " asked Palladis.

" Yeah… yeah I did " said Mesperyian, sounding exhausted.

" What were we even talking about? " asked Triton.

" About your daughter, Pallas, " said Palladis.

" Yes? " said Pallas.

Mesperyian just looked at them all.

She then got up and left.

" Where are you going? " said Triton.

" To the kitchen, I am going to eat some of my father's mint-ice cream… " said Mesperyian.

Triton and Palladis got up and joined her.

After the ice cream.

Palladis and Triton agreed to go on an adventure.

The three of them, four if you count Pallas.

Traveled around the greek-world, seeking adventure.

" Where should we go? " said Triton.

" Let us fight the Hecatonchires! " said Mesperyian, who was eager for battle.

" But I really want to taste The Apples of the Hesperides, " said Triton.

The two of them now looked at Palladis.

" I have a better idea, " said Palladis.

The three of them now flew to an open sea.

" Uhm, Palladis, I don't know about you, but the sea is not new to me… " said Triton.

" What are we even doing here? " asked Mesperyian.

Palladis said nothing.

He instead called forth a lighting bolt, and then threw it straight into the waters.

" Careful! You might hit my house! " yelled Triton.

" Why did you do that? " said Mesperyian, confused.

" Wait for it " was all Palladis had to say.

Triton and Mesperyian now noticed something colossal moving in the sea.

A giant dragon-serpent now sprang out of the waters and towered over the three young gods.

" Cetus… " said Triton.

" Cetus!! " said Mesperyian.

" Cetus " said Palladis with a smile.

A mighty and grand battle now followed, which was so fierce that Gaia almost threw up from all the shaking.

Cetus was now slain, but that was when Palladis found a blade inside the dragon-serpent.

Palladis would call this blade; The Fang of Cetus.

The three young gods now went back to the underworld.

But.

An eagle, which had seen everything that had happened, and had kept a close eye on Palladis, flew back to Mount Olympus, where the sound of thunder could now be heard.

Palladis, Triton and Mesperyian had now returned to the underworld, where Hera had come for a visit.

" Mom! " yelled Palladis as he gave Hera a big hug.

" Oh, my sweet boy " said Hera in a mother's loving voice.

Hera then noticed Palladis' blade.

" Where did you get that? " asked Hera, a bit worried.

" We got it from killing Cetus " said Palladis with a proud smile.

" You killed Cetus… " said Hera, now even more worried;

" Does that mean you went outside? Palladis, I told you not to visit the human-world during the day " said Hera.

" I know… but we had nothing better to do… " said Palladis, feeling sorry.

Hera just let out a sigh.

She then gently placed her hand on Palladis' shoulder.

" I get that idleness can be a difficult foe, but just don't do it again " said Hera with a mother's smile.

" Understood! " said Palladis, while also smiling.

" I just hope that no one saw you… " said Hera.

" Well, even if no one saw us, I would say that they certainly felt the shockwaves of our battle " said Mesperyian, sounding almost proud.

" That was you… " said Hera, as she was now sweating.

" Yeah, and did you hear the sound that Cetus' body made when it hit that nearby island when we landed the killing blow, what a BOOM! " said Triton, also sounding proud.

Hera was now sweating even more.

" I am sorry to say… that I saw an eagle fly towards Olympus… " said Pallas.

Hera was now about to faint.

" Mom… you don't look so good… " said Palladis, sounding worried.

" He knows…" uttered Hera.

" Who? " and just as those words had escaped Palladis' lips.

He heard a voice say;

" Me "

Palladis turned around where he now looked upon the King of the gods himself, Zeus.

With Zeus was also Poseidon.

" Father… " said Triton, while looking at Poseidon.

Zeus was now eyeing Palladis closely.

He now looked towards Hera.

" Is he the one? The lost son of Metis, the child who is meant to be my undoing " said Zeus.

Hera refused to answer him.

" You betrayed me, " said Zeus with lightning in his eyes.

" I did no such thing. I only did as our own mother did once for you. I protected an innocent child " said Hera.

Zeus now once again looked at Palladis.

Palladis looked like he had so many questions, but he did not know where to begin.

He could only ask;

" Who are you? "

" I am your father, " said Zeus.

Palladis felt his whole world crumble.

He fell to his knees.

" My boy! " said Hera, worried.

" Your boy? " said Zeus surprised.

Zeus smiled as Hera had a look of; don't tell him, please.

But the King of the gods simply smiled as he said;

" She is not your mother "

Palladis now felt a part of himself shatter to dust.

All Hera could do was cry.

Triton and Mesperyian could only watch as their dear friend was in so much pain.

Zeus now saw his window and called forth a lighting bolt.

But Hera now stood in front of Palladis.

" Move, " said Zeus.

" No. " said Hera.

Angered.

Zeus threw his lighting bolt.

Palladis immediately stood up.

Moved Hera out of the way, and then blew away the lighting bolt like it was a mere dust of wind.

" He is powerful… " said Zeus, while sweating a bit.

" I don't care… " said Palladis, while looking at Hera.

" What do you mean? " said Hera, confused.

" I don't care that you are not my mother by blood. You raised me. You cared for me, and you were there when I was weak and sick… just like a real mother " said Palladis, with tears in his eyes.

Hera could not help but cry as well, as she said;

" My boy… my son… "

mother and son now embraced.

" Ohhhhh. Now is that not touching? " said Zeus, sarcastically.

Palladis now glared at his father.

Zeus knew what was about to happen.

" Brother, are you with me? " said Zeus.

" I am, " said Poseidon.

Palladis now stood ready, and that was when Triton joined Palladis.

" My son… just what do you think you're doing? " said Poseidon, outraged by his son.

" Sorry father. You stand with your brother. I stand with my cousin " said Triton, while smiling at Palladis.

Mesperyian was about to join her friends, but that was when her father said;

" Don't. My dear girl "

The unseen one, now made himself seen.

" But father! " said Mesperyian.

" This is not your fight. This fight is between fathers and sons… have faith in them " said

Aidoneus.

" You two better not lose… " said Mesperyian quietly.

A mythological battle now began.

Which took place in the underworld, in the earth and then space.

Many things were destroyed and many new things were created.

The fight between Palladis and Zeus got to a point, where Zeus threw his almighty lightning-bolt at Palladis, but to the King of the gods surprise, his son caught the lightning-bolt.

Palladis now charged the lightning-bolt with so much power, that Zeus felt envious.

Palladis now threw it back at Zeus.

The once King of Olympus had only this to utter;

" He stole my thunder… " (literally and figuratively)

Both Zeus and Poseidon were defeated.

" I gave you life…. " uttered Zeus.

" You may have given me life, and for that I am grateful, but! My life is not something you can control. I choose my path, I choose what I make of my life " said Palladis.

Zeus and Poseidon were both sent to

"Horny Jail" alongside Pirithous.

Both Hera and Amphitrite wanted both their sons to go on more adventures.

So in the meantime.

Hera would rule over Olympus, and Amphitrite would rule over Atlantis.

And this is where the story comes to a close.

Palladis, Triton and Mesperyian went on countless more adventures.

And the kind of adventures they went on.

I will leave to your imagination.
